Kiboko |
The beast demon is entangled until Mvumbu's next turn. Hopefully it will go down to the mass of AoOs it's about to get from Kiboko, Mvumbu, Kramac and Jino!
Kiboko takes his opportunity...
AoO vs beast, raging furious greatsword, snake focus, power attack, haste, menacing pack flanking outflank: 1d20 + 15 + 2 - 2 + 1 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 15 + 2 - 2 + 1 + 6 = 34damage: 2d6 + 18 ⇒ (1, 6) + 18 = 25 cold iron, magic, silver
Mvumbu |
...And Mvumbu takes hers:
Chomp of opportunity! vs beast, rage, haste, menacing pack flanking outflank, power attack, bull focus, magic fang: 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 1 + 6 - 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 10 + 2 + 1 + 6 - 2 + 1 + 1 = 32damage: 3d8 + 13 + 1 + 6 ⇒ (8, 6, 1) + 13 + 1 + 6 = 35 magic
"HAAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!"
Will hold off posting next round's actions till I see if the AoOs kill the beast demon or not.
Kramac |
aoo #3, outflank, menacing, haste, power attack, paired opportunist: 1d20 + 12 + 4 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 12 + 4 + 2 + 1 - 4 = 34
aoo #3 confirm, outflank, menacing, haste, power attack, paired opportunist: 1d20 + 12 + 4 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 12 + 4 + 2 + 1 - 4 = 26
damage: 1d6 + 1d6 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + (2) + 6 + 4 = 14
extra crit damage: 1d6 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 4 = 13
If that confirms, that provokes another AoO from Kramac, Kiboko, Mvumbu and Jino due to outflank. Going to go ahead and roll those, assuming it confirms.
aoo #4, outflank, menacing, haste, power attack, paired opportunist: 1d20 + 12 + 4 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 12 + 4 + 2 + 1 - 4 = 35
aoo #4 confirm, outflank, menacing, haste, power attack, paired opportunist: 1d20 + 12 + 4 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 12 + 4 + 2 + 1 - 4 = 21
damage: 1d6 + 1d6 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + (4) + 6 + 4 = 17
extra crit damage: 1d6 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 4 = 15
That probably won't confirm... But just in case...
Kiboko |
Alas, Kiboko and Mvumbu do not have Combat Reflexes to take advantage of the extra AoO :( but on the upside, the demon is still suffering the AC penalty for being prone when the Outflank crit generates the additional AoO, as well as being entangled and hexed, so its Armour Class probably is pretty sucky :)
Flyndyngylyn |
I think y'all have probably taken out the demon with that barrage...I think Flyn may have taken out the green and blue aurochs, but waiting to see if the GM wants me to repost/reroll...
Jino the Rhino |
Please forgive the lack of exposition, posting on my tablet.
AoO #2, outflank, paired opportunist, haste, power attack: 1d20 + 12 + 4 + 4 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 12 + 4 + 4 + 1 - 2 = 23
damage: 2d6 + 10 + 6 ⇒ (3, 5) + 10 + 6 = 24
AoO #3, outflank, paired opportunist, haste, power attack: 1d20 + 12 + 4 + 4 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 12 + 4 + 4 + 1 - 2 = 28
damage: 2d6 + 10 + 6 ⇒ (5, 2) + 10 + 6 = 23
Flyndyngylyn |
Fixing to go to bed...I'll just reroll Flyn's attack as it might save time...
Flyn will backup 5' and fire multiple arrows, first at the blue auroch...when it drops, he'll fire at green...and then red if green drops before his last shot...

That's it for combat!
With the myriad of attacks against the demon as it attempts to balance itself, it becomes critically injured and succumbs to it's injuries falling to a resultant death.
With the immediate fall of the creature, the aurochs turn their heads towards it and start running away from this place, leaving you alone.
Similar to the other monster, you find that this has a sizable cahce of treasure. The cache it hides under some debris in the old house on the hill contains a gold torc, three intricately carved ivory bracelets, a minor ring of inner fortitude , a suit of rhino hide, and a +2 cold iron greatsword.
It now becomes a simple matter of returning to the Red Winter Tribe to prove your victories against the fiends, and secure their blessings.
After some long days of travel to the campsite, you are welcomed and embraced with open arms as they hear your of your endeavours against the demons. Thanock Sundered Bear is indeed impressed and does not hold back his admiration. Bloodspeaker Velka translates, "It would seem that our leader has agreed to bestow his respect and blessings upon the Pathfinder Society. You are free to traverse and take any site as you wish to be your base of operations. Also, he would request the opportunity to be allies, should you require the aid of our army of Mammoth Riders, we should be there, but for Society also to aid us in our time of need."
Flyndyngylyn |
Flyn will carefully cut off a pincer from the dead demon to show to the Elders as proof. He will then search the area after the demon is slain and the aurochs flee...
Perception: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (9) + 19 = 28
Flyn informs the others of the demon's horde, wincing at Kramac as he sees the rhino hide...
Once back with the tribe, Flyn bows and gives what he hopes is a friendly smile to the Elders after the Bloodspeaker's speech. He then waits for Ishmail to answer her since he's the only one who speaks their language...
Afterwards, he says to his friends, "We still have the abandoned town site to check out...shall we proceed?"
Flyn will scout ahead as the party treks to the last site...
Stealth: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (11) + 21 = 32
Perception: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (9) + 19 = 28
Survival (Tracking Only): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24
Kiboko |
I think the Bloodspeaker translated for us Flyn.
"Kiboko thanks you, wise elders. Kiboko and Mvumbu will be glad to fight alongside you against corruption. All free peoples of the world are brethren under the same sky! All free peoples walk the same earth!"
Kiboko feels at home amongst the wild barbarians of the north and their megafauna.
"Kiboko agrees with you Flyn, we should check the abandoned town so as to be able to make a complete assessment and report."
stealth, owl focus: 1d20 + 12 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 12 + 4 = 23
GM Batpony |
Before I move us to the abandoned town, Is everyone in agreement of the alliance?
Flyndyngylyn |
Thanks, Kiboko, I misread that...
Before the party departs to scout the last site, Flyn bows deeply upon hearing the proffered alliance. "It would be a high honor for the Pathfinder Society to have the Red Winter tribe as allies."
Flyn is in total agreement of the alliance...
GM Batpony |
The tribe is ecstatic at the alliance and holds you back no further as you continue your search for a base camp, heading towards an abandoned town.
Twelve dilapidated, wooden buildings huddle around what once was a crossroad. The structures creak in protest as the wind howls through their empty window frames.
founded to house farmers, merchants, and tradesman required to support the construction and fortifications of the ward stones similar to many other villages bordering the world wound.
Survival or Knowledge
(engineering) check for the below.
withstand the elements with minor repairs.
abandoned. Ancient tables remain set as if for dinner, the cupboards still house the threadbare remains of clothing, and there are no signs of looting or animal habitation.
GM Batpony |
That's as much as there is to learn of the campsites, so do select a recommendation and I'll conclude the scenario accordingly!
Flyndyngylyn |
Flyn scouts out the abandoned town...
Knowledge (History): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Survival: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
He nods to the others. "While I have no idea of the history of this place, this would be my recommendation for a forward base for our Society...
"There's a well that can provide water and these buildings, though old, are steadfast enough to withstand the elements as well as make for a defendable position to boot. Just needs a little maintenance...
"There's no signs as to why it was abandoned though...tables set for dinner, no signs of looting or wild animal habitation...but I still think it's the best site of the three..."
Kiboko |
survival, take 10: 10 + 13 = 23
"Kiboko agrees. This place is defensible, it has shelter and water. But it looks like it was abandoned in a great hurry, or perhaps all of the inhabitants were carried off. Kiboko would recommend this place as our base, but with a recommendation that its history is studied."
Ishmail Ibn Jad |
Ishmail scans th area and concurs with his colleagues. This place looks potentially defensible, I suggest we go with it.
Kramac |
The town does seem the best option. Best to get some clerics and wizards in here to sweep this place for lingering enchantments or haunts before setting up a full base.
GM Batpony |
Once your survey is completed, it becomes a simple matter now to break the disc provided to you by Aram Zey to create a beacon for the wizard to communicate your findings and for him to return you back safely with a simple teleportation spell.
Trusting in your decision, soon thereafter, Pathfinder agents are able to travel through the Hao Jin Tapestry to the chosen site to start building a base of operations and plan their next move against the menacing hoard of demons.
