Flyn's move depends on Kramac...if Kramac plans to cast align weapon, Flyn will delay the actions below until it is cast...if not, then he'll move in order accordingly...
Able to withstand the smell, Flyn will move out of the cloud to just within point blank range and fire another cold iron arrow at the beast...
To Hit: Dex+Base, Magic, Weapon Focus, PBS, Precise Shot, Deadeye Bowman, Point Blank Master, Deadly Aim, Favored Enemy, Haste
Damage: Strength, Magic, PBS, Deadly Aim, Favored Enemy
Longbow: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 1 + 1 - 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 12 + 2 + 1 + 1 - 2 + 2 + 1 = 25
Magic/Cold Iron/Good? Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 2 + 1 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 2 + 1 + 4 + 2 = 18
Kiboko |
Did Martha have enough Move to reach the demon even without charging? Assuming that Ishmail's force blast does knock it to the ground?
Fort save, Kiboko: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Fort save, Mvumbu, Bear focus: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 9 + 1 = 17
Kiboko coughs and chokes on the thick vapours, and staggers out of the fog. duration: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Kiboko's 'Tolerance' class feature will give him a new save at the start of his next turn.
Mvumbu |
"Haarr!! Moooaaaarrrggghh"
Mvumbu advances, wishing to protect her friend and companion.
Mvumbu's attacks are Magic, but not aligned. Add +6 if Kiboko threatens her target; add an extra +2 instead if she flanks with someone else; she adds +2 to the attack roll of anyone flanking an enemy that she threatens (menacing amulet).
GM Batpony |
Creature has DR/good
Kramac, you were still in surprise round so you have either a standard or move action only. So none of your stated actions would have been legal. I'll let you retcon your surprise round actions.
Creature has reach 10ft, and 20ft with a whip weapon! It has SR, SR passed
Let's assume the buildings are 15ft high
I'll assume Martha moved and attack after Ishmail knocked the creature to the ground!
Ishmail takes a risky move that pays off as he force blast the creature towards the ground. The creature falls hard and is immediately surrounded by the brute strength taking a considerable beating by Martha and Mvumbu. Flyn attempts to fire another shot but the shot barely misses.
AoO, +1 Scorpion whip: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (1) + 18 = 19S: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Fort: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16 Dem rolls!
The creature attempts to flee from the dangerous spot he finds himself in and then retaliates at the tiefling, hurling profanities in the Abyssal language, saying something about betraying his own kind! The whip stings Ishmail and the disease from the creature attempts to enter into Ishmail's body.
Creature takes a Move action to fly away directly upwards(+20 skill), provoking AoOs, and then a standard action to attack Ishmail!
AoO, +1 Scorpion whip: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (14) + 18 = 32S: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Ishmail must make a fortitude DC22 save or be plagued by demonplague disease, onset is 1 day and freuquency is 1/day, may matter in this scenario as travelling between site takes days.
Round 1/2
Conditions:Hail, Stinking Cloud, Haste
Ishmail (20ft elevation) -11, Flyn
Kiboko (nauseated x5), Martha
??? -58 (20ft elevation)
Kramac, Jino (nauseated x2)

Mvumbu |
I think Kramac posted surprise round and round 1 actions in his last post - surprise round was Divine Favour plus activating Animal Focus.
Mvumbu snaps at the demon as it tries to fly out of reach.
chomp! AoO vs demon, magic fang, haste: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 10 + 1 + 1 = 22damage: 3d8 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (1, 2, 2) + 9 + 1 = 15
Add +6 to Mvumbu's attack roll if Kiboko threatens the demon; add an additional +2 to the ordinary +2 for flanking if she flanks it with anyone else. She grants an additional +2 to hit to anyone flanking the demon if she threatens it.
"Moooaaarrrgghhh!!"
Kramac |
Mvumbu is, as always most wise. I thought I was up for both surprise round and round 1, but now realize that the stinking cloud was the demons surprise round. I will move and cast divine favor in surprise round. Round 1 I will align weapon Flynn's bow and start working my way around the cloud. On my tablet now, will update position later.
Kiboko |
fort vs stinking cloud, tolerance: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24
Kiboko recovers from the stinking vapours. He has suffered worse in the past!
"Ishmail - can you do that again?"
Kiboko delays to see if the demon is knocked to the ground again
furious raging greatsword, haste, menacing pack flanking outflank, power attack, bull focus: 1d20 + 13 + 1 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 13 + 1 + 6 + 1 = 27 damage: 2d6 + 19 ⇒ (6, 5) + 19 = 30
furious raging greatsword, haste, menacing pack flanking outflank, power attack, bull focus, iterative: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 8 + 1 + 6 + 1 = 21 damage: 2d6 + 19 ⇒ (4, 5) + 19 = 28
Raging hasted AC will be 27. Will also command Mvumbu to attack.
I adjusted Kiboko and Mvumbu's positions on the map to account for the demon being knocked to the ground before we emerged from the cloud.
Flyndyngylyn |
Flyn will fire three cold iron arrows at the demon...
To Hit: Dex+Base, Magic, Weapon Focus, PBS, Precise Shot, Deadeye Bowman, Point Blank Master, Deadly Aim, Favored Enemy, Haste, Flurry of Blows, Manyshot, Perfect Strike
Damage: Strength, Magic, PBS, Deadly Aim, Favored Enemy
Longbow: 1d20 + 13 + 2 + 1 + 1 - 2 + 2 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 13 + 2 + 1 + 1 - 2 + 2 + 1 - 2 = 34

Magic/Cold Iron/Good? Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 2 + 1 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 2 + 1 + 4 + 2 = 13
Longbow: 1d20 + 13 + 2 + 1 + 1 - 2 + 2 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 13 + 2 + 1 + 1 - 2 + 2 + 1 - 2 = 36

Magic/Cold Iron/Good?/Crit Damage: 3d8 + 6 + 6 + 3 + 12 + 6 ⇒ (2, 4, 6) + 6 + 6 + 3 + 12 + 6 = 45 (only 13 if not confirmed)

If the demon is not knocked down, Mvumbu can only defend; I do have a single-use boon that will give her flying, but it takes a standard action from Kiboko to use
Kiboko |
If Mvumbu crits the demon, assuming the demon is knocked down, this provokes an AoO from Kiboko thanks to Outflank.
Ishmail Ibn Jad |
I do not have another force punch sadly. Also I have mirror image active, not sure if it has true seeing or not.
If not, hits me on a 1: 1d6 ⇒ 6
If it does have true seeing
Fortitude: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
Ishmail casts aother spell, his blade begins to glow with a sulen blue light. He flies forward into the teeth of the monster and stikes out at it, once again empowering his accuracy.
Defensively casting rimed frigid touch, moving forward provoking (but mirror image), swift for arcane accuracy and then attacking
Concentration, DC19: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (4) + 18 = 22
Attack, AP, haste, accuracy: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 1 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 12 + 2 + 1 + 7 = 24
Damage, AP: 1d6 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 2 = 9
SR Penetration: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Cold damage: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 2, 2) = 11
If it takes any cold damage it is staggered for 1 round and entangled for 2 rounds
GM Batpony |
Oh yes, forgot about mirror image, creature has no true seeing.
Kramac, unless divine favour is a swift action, you won't be able to cast and move in the surprise round! For now i'll assume you moved out of the fog in surprise round and round 1 you casted align weapon (move to draw scroll and standard to activate)
Anyhow, Flyn's multiple shots took it down!
As the group attempts to keep the creature out of flight, and attacks it with all their might, the nimble elf Flyn takes his time to line up his shots. And with great accuracy as the beast dances with Ishmail, each shot penetrates his monstrous body and delivers a powerful damage after being align by the power of good through Kramac's divine blessings.
What do you do now? If you intent to go to the second demon, it will be a shorter distance to it from where we currently are.
Kiboko |
If Flyn's shots on round 2 took the demon out may I keep my potion of Fly?
Kiboko searches, aided by a Detect Magic spell.
Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27
Fort save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17 +5 if vs disease (antiplague)
Kramac |
I believe I can cast and move because I am mounted - moving is jinos action not mine. If I am wrong, then yes, I will move in the surprise round.
Flyndyngylyn |
Flyn will take a wary look around...
Perception: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (2) + 19 = 21
Fortitude: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Then Flyn looks to his friends. "I'm guessing we'll need to cut a distinctive part of this demon's body to take back as proof that we killed it...any suggestions? And I suppose we intend to go after the other demon as well?"
GM Batpony |
Ah yes, mounted rules, my bane!
Flyn and Kiboko search the ruins carefully and find a small fortune, most of the treasure buried under several layers of bodies in the southernmost crypt. The valuables include two dozen beautifully cut pieces of amber, a beaten silver tablet inscribed in Skald with an extensive family tree, a platinum locket (the portrait within has long since decayed), a lion’s shield that instead features a tusked mammoth, boots of the mastodon, and a stone of good luck carved from magically hardened soapstone.
The bodies were plagued by disease but those fortitude saves negate the disease exposure.
Kiboko |
"A piece of a wing, or a tumour perhaps, Flyn. Whatever you take be careful to keep it isolated and secure."
"We have uncovered a trove of treasures, indeed! Some of these items will be of interest to scholars in the Society - others are of more immediate value."
Kiboko cleans off the treasures with the help of Create Water spells.
"Who would use these enchanted items?"
None of us use a large shield do we? although Kiboko still carries one it is a left-over from lower levels.
The Boots of the Mastodon are potentially useful to Kiboko or Martha, giving a strong trample attack once per day.
The Stone of Good Luck adds +1 to skills, saves and ability checks; since it's a luck bonus, Fates Favoured makes that a +2, so Ishmail or Kramac gain the most, although Ishmail already has luck bonuses to saves from other items I think.
Ishmail Ibn Jad |
Ishmail looks over the various items. I don't think I have much use for these, the stone is potent but this lucky horseshoe protects me he says tapping the item.
Where next then friends?
Flyndyngylyn |
Flyn nods to Kiboko as he eyes the dead beast. "I'll not touch those disease-infested tumors, my friend...I'll go for a piece of the wing, as you say..."
Flyn will put on his gloves and delicately slice off a large enough piece of its wing to be of proof to the Elders, securing it in a sack...
Fortitude: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20 (if needed while cutting on the demon)
Flyn will then bow to Kramac. "Friend Kramac, thank you for blessing my bow...I'm certain that last barrage would not have dropped it without that spell..."
Looking to the others, he says, "Shall we be off to find this other demon next?"
GM Batpony |
No fortitude save required, it's exposure is specific to damage.
Assuming you want to find the second demon as well...
Your travels into the worldwound continues as you witness the ground occasionally rippling, as if it were convulsing flesh, sickly grasses sometimes snatch at ankles, and the sky often takes on a sickly, alien hue. Travelling relatively close to the border keeps you relatively safe out of harms way.
Curiously, along your travels, you can a glimpse a couple times of an auroch in the distance, with pure white hair and horns. More than a few times to be just mere coincidence, but everytime you attempt to approach it, it moves further east, keeping a relatively far distance for you to reach it, but always stays within visible sight. It keeps a good 500ft distance mechanically.
Flyndyngylyn |
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Sensing nothing but curious, Flyn will try to sneak up on the aurochs while keeping alert for any signs of traps and foes...
Stealth: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (11) + 21 = 32
Perception: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (8) + 19 = 27
Survival (Tracking Only): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19
Kiboko |
Kiboko will take whichever of the shield and/or boots that Martha does not want.
GM, how much time has elapsed since the encounter with the filth demon?
sense motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
"What is that white bull? A good omen? Or some demonic mirage?"
GM Batpony |
To Flyn's surprise, he is unable to get closer to the pure looking creature. At the same time, there's no immediate danger at bay.
Traveling to this point would have been a matter of 1-2 days, so Spells and resources refreshed, and cast buffs/Spells as you deem necessary
Kramac |
Sorry for lack of posts - have family in town for holidays and also the flu at the same time. Kramac will take the stone if no one else wants it - I have a bonus to saves from Sacred Tattoo already, but the bonus to skills and ability checks is pretty nice too.
A flying beast like that- Kramac cannot fly without using magics I am incapable of myself - much better to let you kill is while Kramac enjoys the show.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Such an uncorrupted beast in this land - a good omen. Let us follow it.
Ishmail Ibn Jad |
Take 10 on sense motive for 21
The creature seems to be trying to lead us somewhere, I wonder why?
Knowledge to identify, pf chronicle: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Arcana, Planes and Dungeoneering are +11, the rest are +8
GM Batpony |
Ishmail knows that Aurochs are simple migrating creatures, herd animals if you will. He knows none that are of white hair as they are typically black haired and dirty looking. Also it is unusual to find one alone.
Assuming everyone will follow and someone passes a Survival DC15 to follow tracks.
After following the creature for 2 days, towards the middle of the second day, it brings you upon something unusual. The trail leads to a crumbling ruin, built on the edge of a shallow crater. Noxious fumes billow up from several vents at the base of the crater. Based on the structure of the ruins, you believe this to be a possible farming estate, one used by a family of herders. But all that remains now of the structure are its scorched walls of crumbling fieldstone.
Emerging from behind the wall, the white auroch appears and motions you to the structure with a toss of the head, and lows mournfully.
Ishmail Ibn Jad |
Ishmail heads towards the strange aurochs but takes some precautions.
Casting mirror image (1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 images) and shield and activating flight hex and wand of heightened awareness
UMD: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26
Kiboko |
"What is this? A farmhouse laid to ruin by the emergence of the Worldwound? Is this bull some manner of spirit sent by the gods, a loci perhaps?"
Kiboko offers a prayer to Shimye-Magalla. He conducts the now-familiar magical preparations. Cast Featherstep, Longstrider, Magic Fang, and Barkskin on himself and Mvumbu, sharing the spell durations via Teamwork. He also activates Animal Focus for himself (mouse=evasion), and uses his Wand of Heightened Awareness (will burn spell for +4 to initiative if combat breaks out).
Kramac |
The white auroch leads us to our quarry. It seems this is the demon's lair.
Kramac will cast shield of faith on himself and Jino. He will also use the same trick to cast Protection from Energy Fire and Protection from Energy Acid and Heightened Awareness on both himself and Jino. Kramac will also activate Animal Focus Tiger. Both characters will expend heightened awareness for +4 to initiative.
Currently my Perception check will be +16 (12 base, 2 heightened awareness, and I gain the alertness feat while adjacent to Jino).
Kramac's AC is currently 34.
GM Batpony |
As you approach the lair, you hear some faint chattering and find that in the shadows stand a herd of aurochs. Much to your surprise however, is that these animals are in a condition rid with disease as they have rotting flesh exposed and have bloodshot eyes. The creatures don't look to kindly on your approach and seem to be in communication with the white auroch.
Auroch's with the fiendish template. Does anyone have speak with animals active by any chance?
Curiously, you also realise that the blisters that billow fumes do not look very stable.
It is a DC15 acrobatics check to move through it to be unaffected by it.. What happens you say if you fail the check? That's a surprise!
Flyn: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Kramac: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Kiboko: 1d20 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 4 = 14
Ishmail: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (20) + 13 = 33
Martha: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
White Auroch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Fiendish Auroch: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (10) + 0 = 10
Round 1
Ishmail
White Auroch
Flyn, Kramac, Kiboko, Martha
Fiendish Aurochs
Map is updated! This is practically the last combat, so it's safe to say we'll end this scenario before 14th January even with all that holiday lag!

Something very strange is afoot here friends, take care.
In what is, by now, a common tactic, Ishmail weaves sorcery around the group, enhancing their limbs and sharpening their reflexes before taking to the air himself.
Casting haste and moving
As he does so his rapier begins to glow brightly.
Swift action to enhance rapier, increasing it to +3 and adding keen
GM Batpony |
Ishmail seemed to have moved through the blister? or did he move around it?
The white auroch shakes violently and slowly transforms into a hideous creature. it begins to take on the the features of a scorpion and a horse with slavering humanoid faces peer from between its two pincers. A monstrous and ugly creature indeed. It moves sthen swiftly towards you. Kn. planes DC19 to identify, and it moved 50ft

Kiboko |
"Damn! We got will-o-wisp'd!"
"મૃત્યુ પામે છે!"
Kiboko makes use of his new magic boots, and judging the 'white bull' to be the greatest threat, tramples it!
Kiboko has Featherstep active so ignores difficult terrain, hopefully that's sufficient. If it is not, Kiboko has a speed of 60' hasted so should be able to reach the demon with a single move anyway.
trample damage, boots of the mastodon: 2d8 + 18 ⇒ (1, 8) + 18 = 27 DC29 Reflex save for half damage OR demon may take an AoO vs Kiboko at a -4 penalty, Kiboko's AC is 25 vs that attack.
Actions: trample, and switch animal focus to Snake (+2AC vs AoOs, +2 to hit with AoOs), switch Mvumbu's focus to Bull, draw greatsword as a free action during trample. Free action rage once I reach destination square.
Mvumbu |
"MOOOAAARRRGGHHHH!!!!"
Mvumbu bounds over to Kiboko's side, and chomps on the vile demonic deceiver.
chomp! vs demon, tangling attack, haste, bull focus, pack flanking menacing outflank, power attack, magic fang, rage: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 1 + 6 - 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 10 + 1 + 1 + 6 - 2 + 1 + 2 = 29damage: 3d8 + 13 + 1 + 6 ⇒ (8, 6, 5) + 13 + 1 + 6 = 39
If attack hits, demon is entangled for 1 round.
Note Mvumbu's Menacing amulet gives anyone flanking the demon (Kramac, Jino, Kiboko) and extra +2 to hit.
Will use GM reroll on that attack roll if it's triggered: chomp of vengance! haste, bull focus, pack flanking menacing outflank, power attack, magic fang, rage, gm reroll: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 1 + 6 - 2 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 1 + 1 + 6 - 2 + 1 + 2 + 1 = 25

That make sense Ishmail.
As Kramac rides swiftly towards the demon, it attempts to lash out with it's stingers but fails hit point. Kramac then pummels the creature with a series of well timed strikes!
Reach,AoO
Sting: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19P: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
The wild pair Kiboko and his companion follow through with as much power as the trample against the fallen demon in hopes to defeat it quickly!
Reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Flyn on the other hand, attempts to provide some cover by targeting the fiendish aurochs one by one. Two pierce themselves on the further creatures hind legs causing him to fall.

Martha von Lucius |
Martha moves around the fuming blisters, her feet taking her much further than usual thanks to the haste spell. She then attempts to attack the infernal aurochs, but a stray fume spray makes her completely miss her target.
Falchion + Haste - Power Attack (+ Furious Focus): 1d20 + 14 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 14 + 1 = 16, (vital strike) Damage + Overhand Chop + Power Attack: 4d4 + 11 + 3 + 6 ⇒ (4, 1, 2, 2) + 11 + 3 + 6 = 29
GM Batpony |
Okay! Wasn't aware Ishmail was flying that high, had treated it more like hovering. But that does change things a little, the creatures will charge at Flyn instead.
As the Aurochs charge towards Flyn, the run right over the blisters, causing them to react violently. A loud explosion of sound occurs that rings through your eardrums.
damage type: 1d5 ⇒ 5Sonic dmg
Burst dmg: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 3) = 10
30ft radius burst centred from the creature!
Reflex DC15 halves; Flyn and Ishmail would be affected.

Reflex: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
Flyn reacts quickly to the sonic boom...
I see Flyn's name in bold...I need to await the demon's and Ishmail's move before posting, right?
Flyndyngylyn |
Scratch my last ooc post...figured I must've missed something...missed that the wise and beautiful Mvumbu entangled the demon with her last attack...I'm getting old...
Flyn will backup 5' and fire multiple arrows, first at the blue auroch...when it drops, he'll fire at green...

Sorry Flyn! You were right the first time! Only Ismail is up currently, copy pasta error. The demon has yet to act pending Ishmails actions.
Flyndyngylyn |
No worries, either way, I'll be firing at the aurochs first...if I have a shot left after the two in front of me fall, I'll use it on the red one...
Ishmail Ibn Jad |
I always try to include my elevation in a note on the map
Reflex: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21
Ishmail flies forward and brings his power to bear on the newly revealed demonic entity.
Move forward, evil eye hex, DC21 will save or -4AC for 10 rounds, if it passes the penalty lasts for 1 round
GM Batpony |
Sorry for the late update! Thursday's are my GS AP game, so I get distracted as I prep and run it.
I see the elevation note now Ishamil, thanks for pointing it out.
Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
The demon, clearly at a disadvantage, attempts to cast a spell but fizzles as it loses concentration under the pressure of the group. The creature then gets up as it scowls at the pathfinders!

Creature will attempt to stand up from being prone and take AoOs

Hey Batpony, since my actions would be exactly the same, do you want to just use the attack rolls from my earlier post (5 posts up), in which I posted prematurely, thinking the demon was entangled, or do you want me to reroll?
