Defiantly, he still stands, hoping to take down the lithe Marduk!

Blue morning star @ Marduk: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (6) + 8 - 1 = 13
Damage on hit: 1d8 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 2 = 8
Blue bite @ Marduk: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (6) + 5 - 1 = 10
Damage on hit: 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 2 = 8

The half-orc easily evades both attacks, holding the line for the others to finish off the beast!

Ending combat as the last foe cannot take a complete beat down like that again.

The battle over, the party finally gets a chance to rest and recover as well as look through the nest. Five intact eggs remain, each one the size of a fat halfling. The mule can carry two eggs safely thanks to Shasta's preparations, but the other three will have to be carried. Please let me know who will carry them.

A dead tyrannosaurus lies within 50 feet of the nest, the cause of death seeming to be the numerous javelins that litter its hide, but the broken foliage shows that it didn't die without a fight. The remains of a human with a large indent in the skull lies adjacent to the nest.

DC 15 Heal:

Given how dried the blood is, you assume that this person died about 45 minutes to an hour before you arrived.

DC 13 Survival:

The footprints of those running can be seen going up the sloping ridge before heading down the ravine... followed by more lizardman tracks.

Within the nest and nearby are numerous trinkets of value, probably the equipment of the poor soul slain here. They are

  • a bronze Aspis Consortium badge
  • a climbers kit
  • 100 feet of silk rope with a grappling hook
  • a masterwork composite (+2) longbow
  • a potion of hide from animals lawl again
  • two tree feather tokens
  • and a wand of barkskin with 12 charges

What does the party do as you pack up your quarry?

"I can understand that," Wyeth says to Gob once the fight's ended and he moves to help his injured comrades. "Not many articulated peg legs out there," he says as he stands on his good leg and causes the metal one to bend at what would be the knee. "I was lucky, I found a really talented machinesmith in Manaket who had sympathy for my plight. Gave me a discount on this design he was tinkering with. Good thing, as I couldn't have afforded it otherwise."

He grins at the half-orc as he settles back onto both "legs." "Still, I'd've thought the missing foot would've been a clue."

Given how out of touch with reality Wyeth is, I guess he shouldn't be riding Gob about the peg leg thing. :o) Anyway, since he noticed nothing, he's doing nothing. "Next!"

How much do the eggs weigh? Wyeth can probably handle one. Maybe two, if we rig some sort of sling or harness.

Hakime lacks rope, but suggests, "Perhaps someone with some silk rope, or even normal rope, remaining, could rig some mesh slings to carry eggs."

If anyone provides rope, she will attempt to rig one as an example to others:

Wyeth pulls a hank of silk rope from his backpack and tosses it to Hakime.

The eggs weight about 30 lbs; safely it should be transported one per person, although if there is no backpack involved, a person could sling one egg to the front and back. Doing so will increase the encumbrance level up one step
