Are we heading back to the kobolds because we think the weapon to defeat the Golden Guardian is there?

I need to outfit Aspex better now that she has money. I'll get a list together asap.

Nope, that is the ruins you seek. However, the notes from Sharrowsmith indicated the need for a weapon to use against the Golden Guardian. Now that you have the weapon, you are ready to enter it.

Heh, at this rate, you may want to invest in Nature Soul/Animal Ally to make it a full-fledged AC :) Assuming you have Faiths and Philosophies anyway.

Between the goodwill earned from before, the excellent diplomatic skills used, and impressive memory of lost lore, the party recalls plenty of information to prepare them for their journey.

Save for torrential rain alternating with scorching heat, the journey from Fort Bandu to Mount Nakyuk progresses smoothly. Ancient, crumbling stone buildings choked with vines and adorned with bone fetishes emerge from a patch of thick jungle underbrush. A scattering of bones and discarded tools hints that this location was recently inhabited. A gaping stairwell yawns behind a blood-spattered altar, descending to the mysterious depths where the Golden Guardian makes its home.

Make either a single Kn: Engineering or Kn: History check and open as many spoilers as you qualify for!

DC 13 Kn: Engineering or Kn: History:

The halls are quite plain by dwarven standards; you assume that this was built in a hurry. It is a testament to dwarven skill that they still stand though.

DC 18 Kn Engineering or Kn: History:

The ruins are around 3,000 years old.

Two granite statues of dwarves in full armor stand guard in this entrance hall, flanking the entrance to a corridor to the south. Antelope skull patterns painted in red ochre cover each statue’s face. In the wall to the south are two rust-stained iron doors. Along the far end of the hallway between the two statues are more doors, the very end blocked by a rusted iron portcullis with a statue of a dragon's head on the wall past it.

DC 12 Perception:

You can see several pressure plates of poor repair going down the hallway towards the portcullis. Spotting this and announcing it to the party will allow you to avoid stepping on them if you move at half-speed or full speed with a DC 15 Acrobatics check.

separate DC 12 Perception check:

You can tell that the eastern door facing the south has been opened somewhat recently; the visible evidence suggests a crowbar was used.

Shasta does not find anything of magical nature as she examines the room. There are several possible paths: the previously opened door near Hakime, the southern door from the chamber Shasta is exploring, or one of the several doors in the central hallway.
