GM Auke's The Forgotten Laboratory (Inactive)

Game Master Auke Teeninga

The goblins of the dungeon's upper level took more than one trinket from the ancient laboratory that dwells beneath them. The wizard that created these items also performed dangerous experiments, many of which have gone out of control over the years. Stranger still, someone appears to be using the ancient equipment with sinister results.

I have shield of faith, bless, command, and enlarge person. Figured I would enlarge and grapple. thought about trying it with the bottle head, but think we would just die. Ebon isn't too keen on the current circumstance and is more than willing to try to stop the 'bad guy' again. Just a little fearful of bottle heads invisibility
Ebon also looks for a suitable weapon like branch.
Then he imitates Talwin in searching for goblin tracks..

But his heart really isn't in it...
" This sucks. I think we should find a way to stop this guy and free the little runts.."
Unless bottle-head is still around then he remains quiet.

You don't manage to find any goblins, but you do find the road back to the nearby town of Thornkeep.

It's not big, but they should have some items you could use against invisible opponents.

Ok, people, show some initiave. I don't want to have Muluk unable to act for more than a few days.

BTW, you might be out of money and equipment, but you probably all still got some prestige!

It's only one purchase per adventure and only a single item per purchase (barring 'kits', which consist out of multiple items).

Well Targost has all his spells (5-0 level, 3-1st level) plus can throw 6 acid bolts per day. So I can throw some protection on characters, then stay back and fire distance spells at the wizard....like I was thinking before, if we take him out quickly maybe 'super goblin' will just leave...taking his freedom instead of fighting us...I don't know...what do you think?

Ok in that case, I will spend 2 points( sadly wasting 300gp worth...485gp cost) on a dragonslayers kit, if available. Then he will look around for a local Blacksmith or Weapon/Armorsmith and offer to cast Guidance on them for the next 30 minutes or so, for a few copper pieces. If that works he will then go and find someone to sell him enough powdered chalk (1 cp per 1/2 lb) to fill the 3 sacks he gets with the kit.
Sweating and dirty Ebon returns to the others.

" Well. I might have a plan...."

Okies, flour it is. flammable too. XD
" Ok. Its like this...
First we take these sacks of flour, and lug em in like goblins in a bag, one for each of us. One of you takes the longspear, I'll take a club, and the other of you take the tower shield and the 5 vials of alchemist fire. Talwin if you need more healing there is a potion of Cure (moderate) in there as well. Whoever takes the spear should use the oil of bless weapon on it.
Now I'm not the best planner, but it seems we get Bottlehead to take us back in, bringing our 'goblins' to the master guy. If we can, 'n this'll have to be one of you guys cause I suck at lyin', trick bottle head into opening one of the cells for us, then shove him in and lock the door. If that fails one or the other of us should ready to wack him with a sack of flour the moment he disappears. Now for conting...just in case planning, I have enlarge, command and shield of faith to run with as spells. If you want to throw mage armor on us or use other spells, lets plan it now before we start. we can always improvise later..."

Sorry guys. Super busy weekend, then sick in bed all day yesterday.

"It's a good plan. Let me get a healing wand, no sense risking a fight at anything less than full strength. I'll make sure I cast my spell to see invisible things so I can douse the goblin with flour if he winks out. And I'll take that spear, but I'd really like to hang on to a club if I get backed up. Oh well.."

Spend 2 PP on Wand of CLW. Then heal us once ready to head inside.

Ok, so you completely heal up, arm and armor yourselves, and go back with 3 bags filled with 'goblin'!

(Healing back up to full will take about 6 charges) I assume you also cast guidance on yourselves before entering

So you arrive back at the stairway with 3 burlap sacks.

"Hi Snarltongue, we've got the first three, can you open the cells, so we can put them in?"

Bluff Targost, take 10: 10 + 8 + 1 = 19

Targost Reposition assist: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 fail

Thanks for bumping us along! Anyway, was Krenar in the room when we arrived? As in he vanished? It seems like no, but that he's probably seen us through his puppet. And are the bars on Muluk's cell far enough apart for him to grab an adjacent wand if dropped?

Krenar wasn't in the room when you arrived. The bars are far enough apart for Muluk to pick up a wand if you drop it next to the cell.
