So dragon cat how closely related do you want to be? And how well do you think we would know each other from what I have read the Medvyed's seemed fairly grounded with hints of strong family bonds at least as far as noble families go but that was only my take on what was a fairly short blurb in the Inner Sea world Guide and a piece I seen online. I will see if I can find that one again so I can share it.

With regards to familial relations, I'm assuming that Alexander and Tassira are cousins. Alex is one of Lord Gurev's nephews and I'm assuming Tassira's mother is one of his daughters.

I'm not entirely sure we'd know each other that well--Tassira's been basically sheltered for most of her life, but it's also entirely likely her father made sure she's up to date on family affairs.

So do we all know each other already? How did the swordlords pick who would be in on this mission? draw names out of a hat, or did someone bring political preassure to bear. Medvyed family influence the decision with the expectation that Alexander or Tassira would end up in charge. Cadell was tossed out on his ear so his parents or cousin lord Garess wouldn't pull strings for him. Or would they? hoping that he doesn't come back.

Well met Rowena. I was wondering where you find the pictures for your characters they are really good.

That would make make sense Tassira. I could know you at least passingly through your brother Gustav. We share a military background and might have grown up doing things together given the way you portrayed the father. He would certainly encourage such a friendship. I might know you more as my friend's sister. Also considering your age you would likely have had a coming out party to introduce you to the noble court so I would know you on sight from that if nothing else.

All good question Cadell. I assume the answers will depend a great deal on where we start the adventure. However it would be at least possible that Tassira and Alexander would know of you and vice versa. All three of us traveled in the same circles and due to our backgrounds all three of us would make good fodder for gossip. Coarse gossip has a way of being slanted so our characters perception's of each other might logically be colored by that ;)

Those who are from the same house probably know each other in passing at the very least. Nobles from other houses may know each other, though less likely.

The Swordlords of Restov assembled the team based on skill, areas of expertise, and hopefully with the ability to work together well.

Cadell was chosen for his ability to avoid dangers, perceive and manipulate threats and because of his drive to prove himself.

Tassira was appointed for her general magical expertise and links to the fey, and also because her cousin Alexander was being appointed to the mission.

Sheoll was chosen for two reasons alone: He was a former brigand and to get him out of Restov (a bloodraging abyssal-powered aasimar is, well, scaring the locals).

Alexander was placed in the team for his skill in the arcane arts and martial prowess, but also because his unique style of blending the two to form one whole.

And Rowena was made a member because of her healing abilities, down-to-golarion wisdom, and Senka is a well-respected figure in Rostland.

I'll be opening the game thread here shortly, and may the game be a fun one!

Honestly I don't care if he is a horrible person on the inside as long as he keeps my insides on the inside. I don't want to prove myself so much as prove my father is an ass for disowning me. . . . .Daddy didn't love me! Cadell has obviously had enough ale the sooner you get him out of Restov the better.

Thank you, Alexander. The pictures comes from searches in Google Images, DeviantArt and Pinterest. Then I manipulate them in Photoshop to get the colouring and look just right. :)

They really looked so much like the avatars it made me curious. I have played with photoshop on my old laptop. It always seemed to have time warping powers when I used it because time would just disappear when I sat at the computer working on a project :)

Agreed on time warping! I can lose myself for hours on end in Photoshop. And I also dig through every avatar on Paizo until I spot one that is remotely close to the pic I had in mind. Call it a visual person's initiative or a form of OCD - laughs - it helps me finalise the character. :)

No not really I usually just try to find an avatar that is as close as I can to what I imagine my character to look like. I only have the paint program to play with now so touching things up is kind of beyond me. Though I do pull it out and use it to help me muck with maps on roll 20 virtual tabletop from time to time. I do miss the multiple layers ability among other cool tools but I seem to be muddling through. Why did you have some suggestions?

Really wow that is awesome! I can easily imagine that his soldiers uniform would be in the house colors or at the very least his tabard would be. Honestly though having seen your characters pictures I feel comfortable with what ever speaks to you.

I like it. One of the reasons I think I like it so much is that he is smiling and seems so approachable. I think you found a perfect counter point to the avatar I currently have. The colors fit well and make sense to me. Can I see the original you based it off of?

wow how did you change the colors with out having to touch up the design on the armor or shirt for that matter? I don't remember being able to do that on my version of photoshop but I will admit I have a sizable lack of skill in regards to the program even when I was using it :)

I changed the saturation and temperature and then I did spot changes using Quick Selection, Magic Wand and Clone Stamp Tool.

I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 10. And my experience is pretty much trial and error -- teaching myself as I go along and work from picture to picture.

I can't find a physical description of Cadell on his profile, but going by his avatar alone, it seems all of our group are brunettes. Nicely done, folks. ;)

lol well I went with the black hair because of the strong Taldan influences in Brevoy.

Nice pic Shoell. I think Rowena really captured the essences of your character with that one. At least from what I read of your background. I picture him a little like Sten from dragon age. 1 part philosopher 1 part dangerous predator talking only to those that are worthy of his interest. of coarse I am probably off base :)

Nope.

I built her in Soul Calibur V's character creator. I can't draw for beans, so I just use that, take a picture of it with my iPhone, and upload it to Google Drive.

That is a cool way to get a character picture. I did something similar when I was playing the champions rpg. I had city of heroes and used the character creator and copied the screen in game.

Edit: Alexander and Cadell have black hair and blue eyes. Tassira has black hair and grey eyes. Sheoll has black hair and golden eyes. Rowena has black hair and light green eyes.

Visual person. I think it helps for rp flavour. I have a preference for knowing such details (and maybe others do too). Having a central place with such a summary doesn't hurt. :)

I wanted to bring some stuff up before we start RPing like how we wanted to handle treasure distribution. Any roles we wish to set up in the group like treasurer, leader, secretary (probably not necessary considering the medium), Party face. The General party travel order etc. I am sure I am missing some things just stuff I wanted to touch on to help things run smoothly.

I personally prefer the treasure distribution primarily handled by need with a small amount of treasure taken out to cover group expenses like healing, resurrections, curse removal etc.

By the way Tassira how do you feel about the idea of Gustav and Alexander being friends and that being the tie in between us. We would likely have met we would not have been close but know each other at least through Gustev.

By the looks Rowena has similar capabilities. Nothing wrong with that it is actually a good thing to have more then one negotiator.

Considering my skills the negotiation abilities I bring are something akin to grabbing someone by the hair smacking them into a nearby table and then asking them if they would like to tell me what I want to know. Go Intimidate skill ;)

Funny thing about that is I don't want to play Alex as a bully but he seems to have the abilities to pull it off.

I like treasure distributed by need as well, and like the idea of having a party coffer to cover communal expenses.

As far as party travel order, I figure we put our heavy hitters on each end, casters in the middle and rogue up towards the front. My suggestion:

Sheoll,Cadell,Rowena,Tassira and Alexander bringing up the rear; but see below :)

As far as roles go I'm sure there are people that are suited to certain things (as previously stated, both the ladies have pretty good diplo), but my inclination is to Rp it out and see it form organically.

I did make Rowena with the goal of being helpful/useful in regard to diplomacy and negotiation. So having Tass and Ro possibly work together as a diplo team is not a bad idea. We'll see how it unfolds in game.

I would like to have Rowena somewhere in the middle of the marching/travel order. Keeps the healer all nice and safe and having access to all in the party.

Regarding treasure distribution - have no issue with going the way the majority wants to -- prefer equal shares and leaving one share aside as "general party loot" -- to be used for covering group expenses etc.

good stuff. I understand the wish to rp things out. I was trying to think of all those non character roles that can make games easier on the GM and help keep things on track. Like the secretary that writes important NPC's names down (among other things like the adventure journal) so when you are about to bring the mcguffin back you can call the person by their name instead of baron whats his face :) It seems I haven't roleplayed in so long I was struggling to think of the side roles we use to have in my old gaming group and threw group face out with the others.

I have no issue with Rowena, being a chronicler, and writing down notable NPC names, facts etc in a journal for future reference, if that helps. (Which means I better give her a journal and inkpen as part of her gear then ...) EDIT: Done -- Ro now has a journal and inkpen.

No problem I really want the game to go well. I have wanted to play this AP to the end for a while but it seems like any kingmaker game that I have been on has melted down shortly after the start sometimes even sooner. I wish to make things easy for everyone especially the GM. GMing can be a tough job sometimes. Besides having everyone on the same page helps to keep problems to a minimum.
