Good to know I was wondering if it was just me.
I feel kind of sorry for GM Aneirin after looking at the gameplay section he has about a page worth and climbing of text to look through and build responses for :)
Any way kind of tired and need to get some sleep, good night all
Rowena Hunter
Sorry about your car problems, GM. Hope they're on the way to being resolved -- good luck.
@Tassira: I forgot Ro had Calming Touch ... should have just gone with that when Tassira hurt her thumb. Will remember in future. :)
Alexander Medvyed
Sorry to hear about the car issues. Hope things work themselves out.
If and When I pick up Ablative Barrier (turns the first 5 points of each attack into nonlethal damage) Calming Touch's ability to heal nonlethal damage could become pretty useful. I always felt that powers ability to sooth several common Conditions was its real saving grace.
Rowena Hunter
@Alex: Good that it (Calming Touch) can be even more useful to the group. :)
@GM Aneirin: Time is the killer. I'm fortunate I don't live anywhere near the snowy regions, but I do feel for you in those conditions.
Sheoll Blackflame
@GM Aneirin: Sorry to hear about your car, I know that can be a cause of real anxiety. Glad it was relatively inexpensive though.
@Everyone else: i think something is about to happen...dun dun DUN!

Is anyone else experiencing the problem of not getting notification of new posts on the board? It's been happening for days (on and off) for me (on game thread and discussion).
Rowena Hunter
I get a notification there's one new post and there's multiple or no notification and there are posts there. I know Paizo has been down and up for days, so that may have something to do with it. I hope the bugs will be sorted out soon.
Alexander Medvyed
I probably didn't notice the notifications thing because I am constantly picking over my posts. I can tell you the spelling correction is a god send for me. Speeds things up a lot but I still read what I write and then reread and then change things or add to it. I try to refrain from doing it to much after posting so as not to screw up any one responding to me but it is like a nervous tick lol.
Alexander Medvyed
I am a bit of a perfectionist with my story writing as well. Stories I write go through gobs and gobs of rewrites. I think it is one reason I like playing by post. Coarse at the same time I can be impatient waiting to see what comes next :)
Alexander Medvyed
Thanks everyone. It is just a follow up appointment for the cold she was trying to shake about a week or so ago. Her doctor just wants to be cautious since my mom suffers from COPD among other issues.
Sheoll Blackflame
So far our average init is 14(I think) so we have a chance at going again before the baddies.
Also, @Cadell I think Alex is right, you get your sneak attack damage...but I could be mistaken. Gm Aneirin?
Sheoll Blackflame
@Gm Aneirin: I'm a bit confused about the map. Shouldn't the bandits be stopped at the gate as Alex and Cadell closed it? I'd just like all the information before I make my next action.
Alexander Medvyed
I believe Tassira put to sleep the rest of the bandits which ended the fight.
I was a little disappointed that I didn't get to do much except close a door :) Oh well maybe next time.
Rowena Hunter
Just a heads-up: I have an appt this afternoon (my time) for 2 hours, so I will not be on the board then. I will catch up once I've finished and am home.
Plus, it's already Halloween here and I'm sure I will get hordes of little gremlins come knocking on my door then for candy. ;)
Rowena Hunter
Taken from bandit leader's person: 2 alchemist’s fire, leather armor, a dagger, a composite longbow with 20 arrows, 2 days of trail rations, a silver Stag Lord amulet and a pouch with 35 gp.
~ Now I'm off to my appt. Thanks, Alex. Will reply as Ro when I'm back.
Alexander Medvyed
I will most likely be asleep when you get back so have a good evening and I will talk to you tomorrow.
GM Aneirin here is a link to the Lewis and Clark equipment list and some info on oregon pioneers food choices. I thought I would draw on these sources for inspiration to try and put together a good purchase list for the expedition. I seemed to have lost the one I had for Alexander when I rewrote him :( Thought I saved it oh well it does give me the opportunity to look over things. I was thinking of drawing heavily from the trade goods for food. might need to work with me on what would be considered a single wo/man's day of food.
Rowena Hunter
I am heading out of town for birthday celebrations for my mum and niece. I will not be back until tonight, my time. I will check the board (and respond) then.
Happy Halloween to those in the Northern Hemisphere.

GM Aneirin I happen to have The Inner Sea world Guide and I wanted to know if Alexander would have any chance of knowing the general customs/laws that the River Kingdom tend to operate under. Assuming you haven't changed them :)
According to the Inner sea world guide these are the general laws that the River Kingdoms tend to operate under.
Say What You Will, I Live Free: Talk is cheap, and
everyone is entitled to speak their own words.
Oathbreakers Die: Those who swear oaths—particularly
those of fealty to a River King—and break them can expect
any number of painful and lethal fates.
Walk Any Road, Float Any River: Freedom to travel is
fundamental. No River Kingdom is allowed to bar traffic
on a river or a road, save in times of active warfare.
Courts Are for Kings: The law is always malleable. Who
you know and who you can count as friends are more
important than what the law says, and a lord can change
laws in his territory at will.
Slavery Is an Abomination: Slavers may visit the River
Kingdoms, but taking or holding slaves there upsets the
many people who were once slaves themselves.
You Have What You Hold: Property laws are weak in
the River Kingdoms. Taking something openly by force is
different from stealing, and those who can’t protect their
property don’t deserve to keep it.

Alexander is an intellectual at heart. He wants to know things. He believes the more he knows the better he can control bad situations.
So I am not concerned about upholding the principals (though several are pretty good ones) so much as knowing where the person I am talking to is coming from or possibly why someone might be willing to fight me in the first place. The knowledge could be useful in any number of ways.
Knowing that someone that swears an oath is likely to keep it because they believe that oath breakers die painful and grisly deaths is worth noting.
Or that a group that we encounter who was otherwise indifferent to us may become hostile for no other reason then they feel we are impeding there progress.
Knowing that non hostile groups of trappers or hunters may mark us as possible slavers while we have prisoners in tow could be important. A wily Bandit in our custody might claim us as such to create havoc in a attempt to escape for example.
I could go on but I am sure you get my point. Besides its little tidbits of background that can be added to conversations.
GM Aneirin
Welp, had a blast of a Halloween! Hope everyone else did.
@Alexander: The Lewis & Clark lists are nice forms of inspiration. Also, approximately 1,500 to 2,500 calories/day is constituted as a meal, or the equivalent of 2 1/2 loaves of bread. Interspersed with cheese, meats and other grains, as well as drinks... Well, we'll figure something out, yes? Also, the 'Laws of the River Kingdoms' are general and widely accepted. That said, some areas bend the laws. A good example would be the 'Courts are for Kings' rule. Technically that is waved in the face of the Outlaw Council, for instance. That said, those are good guidelines to show how things work in the River Kingdoms, even the Stolen Lands.
