Items found on bandits:
On Happs (the "leader"): 2 alchemist’s fire, leather armor, a dagger, a composite longbow with 20 arrows, 2 days of trail rations, a silver Stag Lord amulet (non magical) and a pouch with 35 gp
From the others: leather armor x5, longbow x5 with 100 arrows, short sword x5, 10 days of trail rations, 50 gp from the regular bandits.

Can Ro take the 2 flasks of Alchemist's Fire she found on the leader's body? Anyone have any objections to that? If someone else wants to take one, I'll only have Ro ask for one flask.
She'll leave the composite longbow for Sheoll, if he wants it. He has a better DEX.

Now... there's still the matter of dealing with the bandits. I wonder--does Oleg handle all the business at the trading post? Or can Svetlana handle the trading post's affairs while he's away?
I'm thinking having Oleg take the bandits back to Restov would work.

Here is a partial list of supplies that I thought might be useful for the expedition. I figure that this would be enough food for the group for at least a month
- Bag of Travel Cake Mix 20lbs 2g: total of 240 pancakes, waffles, scones, or muffins etc I figure that would be enough for 24 days of food with everyone getting 2 assuming the use of nuts fruits vegetables meats etc.
- Powdered Milk 10lbs 1g: enough for 10 gallons of milk for drinking alone or with coffee as well as cooking. Such as simple puddings, cereals etc
- Salt 2lb 10g The cooking kit comes with spices but the salt can be used to preserve food found on the trail and cooking.
- Nuts 10lbs 3s used to extend and enrich other foods like the travel cake mix
- sugar 10lbs 5s same as above plus baking
- Dried venison 5lbs 3g filler
- Sack of beans 20lbs 4s filler and staple
- Sack of Rice 20lbs 4s wasn't certain on this but thought to add it maybe replace it with wheat.
- Sack of potatoes 20lbs 4s filler and staple
- Sack of Apples 20lbs 4s filler
- Cheese wheel 10lb 2g filler
- Ground Coffee Beans 10lbs 8s: not certain how much a lb of coffee can make I figured 10 doses for the coffee maker per pound would be reasonable. working out to about 400 cups or 40 days worth assuming 2 cups a day.
- Honey 1lb 2g good for flavor and preserving.
- 10 Rations 10lbs 5g ready made meals for when cooking isn't possible
- 50 Wander meal 25lbs 5s same as above except much cheaper
- Coffee Pot 4 lbs 3g seems reasonable to be able to purchase from Oleg
- Cooking Kit 2lbs 3g same as above
- Gear maintenance Kit 2lbs 5g same as above
- Map Makers Kit 2lbs 10g this seems pretty specialized not likely to be available.
(49g 7s) Coin (211)lbs
The gear is mostly food stuffs and what I feel would be the minimum items needed to do our job properly. I think that their is enough food for at least a month more then likely longer. It would likely require one horse to carry it all or could possibly be spread out amongst each persons horse adding about 42lbs of weight. Of coarse we each have rations that would extend things further. Thought I would post this and see what everyone thought. This is actually fairly truncated from my full list but this seemed like a reasonable start. The resell value of a single longbow covers all but about 12 gold of the above and if the map making kit isn't availabe that goes down to 2 gold and a couple of silver.
I will likely take a longbow and 20 arrows to be able to attack at extreme ranges when necessary. I believe that Sheoll will get the most use from the comp bow and I don't mind if he takes it. I am not certain but I believe we are the only two that can properly wield it.

when I first generated the list I assumed a cart to carry all the items and purchased a 2 barrels one to store all the bagged food stuffs that would react poorly to dampness and the other for water but figured it wouldn't be doable at this point. Yes I know I'm being weirdly meticulous lol :)
Alexander Medvyed
Thank you and your welcome. I was thinking of adding a healing bag but that would have more then doubled the cost. Is there anything anyone feels should be added for the expedition. The original list is bellow for easy reference but anything that others can think of not listed is welcome as well. I thought of adding a canoe but didn't think it would be practical to carry with a cart :)

Are you sure rice paper would be available? I would think parchment would be more abundant. also do we want to keep using the cart. we may be able to move faster if we are all mounted, but we will need extra horses to use as pack animals.
Alexander Medvyed
I figured the cart could be more useful once we get some hirelings. As to the pack animals. The weight from gear hasn't gotten too bad yet with the list of gear offered up so sharing the load between everyone's horse is still a possibility.
Despite the name it isn't necessarily made from rice. It is simply the roughest and cheapest form of paper available.
rice paper (sheet)
Price 5 cp; Weight —
This sheet of paper is made of rice, straw, or tree bark. It has hardness 0, 1 hit point, and a break DC of 2.
good for scratch paper rough outlines once a map or drawing extra is done it could be copied to finer material.
Alexander Medvyed
Riding with out any distractions doesn't require a skill check it is only when fighting or during unusual circumstances that it becomes a problem. So it looks like Alexander and Cadell are going to be offering horse riding lessons to prepare everyone for the trek with horses :)
Alexander Medvyed
@Ro It is a good piece of gear but that 50gp price is a bit steep at first lvl. By the looks a person can eat for several months for the same amount of gold it takes to buy that bag :)
Taking 2 days to get gear purchased and prepped and becoming familiarized with the horses makes sense and is good role play since most of the group doesn't have the riding skill. I am counting the horses as part of the gear we need to prep as well. Since we have no idea how well the bandits kept the horses. Doing a once over of all them to check their health wouldn't be a bad idea. Oleg would likely have a better handle on that then any one else. Things like cleaning, trimming and shoeing hoofs that need it not to mention giving them a good meal. Also introducing each person to their horse wouldn't be a bad thing either. Alexander would likely be able to help with the cleaning and possibly trimming but shoeing would most likely be beyond his ability. I assume his training as a cavalry soldier would give him a handle on that basic every day care.
@GM Aneirin I believe Cadell is referring to the short bow Sheoll asked Oleg if he could use during the combat. He wishes to Trade one of the long bows we have for that short bow.
Rowena Hunter
@Alex: It would help with heal checks - but as you say, food is the imperative at present, and perhaps down the road when the party has more ready funds, we can purchase such a kit. :)
Alexander Medvyed
We will likely be doing a lot of aid other checks to help Sheoll on Survival check to keep us from getting lost. he has a +4 and is the highest of the group. Thats why I am stocking up :)
By the way was their anything that anyone wanted to add to the first list before I ask Oleg for the gear?
Alexander Medvyed
A little accounting and touching on a subject mentioned earlier.
Counting the following 6 leather armor 5 short swords 4 long bows as gear that was turn in to Oleg and Svetlana that would work out to be about 205 gold minus the short bow's cost 30gp and the group supplies I suggested 44.7gp(minus 10 rations because of the 12 found) that leaves 130g 3s in credit (assuming half cost for spoils turned in). I believe that leaves 1 horse, 1 mule, a cart, 1 Stag Lord amulet, 85gp in coin, 2 rations, and a dagger for loose group loot.
I know we mentioned providing reparations to the Levetons what does everyone think we should give to them out of the group loot?
I tried to discount any items people already claimed. So If I missed anything let me know.
My suggestion would be rounding down the in store credit to a 100 gp and offering block the mule and possibly one of the horses. If we find that an extra horse to carry gear isn't needed.
Rowena Hunter
Perhaps we can also give Oleg/Svetlana one share of the total gold pieces we found: (1/6 x 85) 14gp?
I have no issue with offering the mule(Block) and a horse to the Levetons.
Alexander Medvyed
Why not make it 15gp and then split the remaining gold up 10gp each with 20gp going to the general fund. With 20gp credit to each person. that would work out to 30gp to each person total.
Alexander Medvyed
Cadell Garess
Were we able to catch all the horses. I was under the impression that one ran away. There were only five horses. Cadell has his gelding, and there is one horse for each of you. If all of them were rounded up that leaves one spare that could either go to Oleg or be used as a pack animal. If we give block and a horse to Oleg we can't use the cart. so the gold split would be 10 gp + another 20 in credit with Oleg with 20 in the community pot. That sounds good to me.
Rowena Hunter
There were 5 bandits on horses with one spare horse - that makes 6 horses initially.
@Sheoll: You are able to tell that there are 5 humanoids riding horses, one additional horse in tow as well.
The GM said that Ro and Alex rounded up all the horses without trouble. Okay, reading back under a notation to Alex it does seem like one horse ran away at the smell of blood. So, there are only 5 horses we got from the bandits. Alex, please take one horse off the total. Thanks. :)
Weren't we leaving the cart and mule with Oleg? I thought we were going to take the horses and spread the gear across all horses to share the load.
Alexander Medvyed
Sorry it might not have been clear from my posts earlier but the horse that ran away was accounted for. We only had 1 extra horse counting Cadell's that was why I asked if we wanted to keep it for carrying gear or offer it to the Levetons and share the load.
I was hoping to lend the cart to Oleg or if possible let him keep it here for the time being. Until we can hire on hands in the future but giving the cart and mule to the Levetons is certainly a possibility. The cost of getting a new one is small compared to hirelings and horses. A wagon might even be more appropriate by then.
My idea was we could have a base camp that stays about one square away. Similar to the chuck wagon on a drive. It allows us to be more mobile by not having to carry as much while still having easy access to the stores needed to stay out for long periods as well as having a relatively secure place to rest and recover from battle or a fall back point if we get our buts kicked or separated. Of coarse that is still fairly far in the future. If it is even able to happen.

Sorry for missing yesterday (and most of today). My work has gone to high gear as contractors demand for the company I work for's goods spike just before winter sets in. Come around the first of December, work will begin slowing down immensely until early spring.
I apologize and am now, once more, catching up and will attempt to address any issues and RP things.

Tass, I hope you don't mind that Ro got in a few questions with the bandits ... In character she got caught up in scrutinising the motives of bandit 2 and the quiet sincerity (for lack of a better word) of Kir (bandit 3) and tried to get more info with which to question them further. Hopefully Tass can get more out of them. And we can finalise the rp with the bandits.
It seems the large bandit 1 (Hans) has accepted his fate ... and expects us to hang him/them. Ro is leaving him to Tass' questioning for now.

No problem. I ended up falling asleep by then anyway. XD
And now it's time to see if Hans will listen to me...
