Both Thalinowen and Callus start to panic when they're on the boulder, seeing it melt away beneath them to mud as if it were about to collapse. They both slip and almost fall, but catch themselves at the last minute.

Thalinowen and Callus need another successful climb check, still need checks for Hadzi and Jazk. Heraclitus should be conscious now, so it's just a matter of getting them back up.

Unfortunately, as the vishkanya makes his way across, the gets spooked by the melted rock causing him to slip and join the ifrit down below.

Fall damage: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 4) = 11
Same as with Heacrlitus, you can attempt a DC 15 Acrobatics check to negate the first 10 ft of fall damage. At least you're not dying. and I have no issue with a retcon saying you both fell at the same time and both benefited from the channel.

Callus and Thalinowen need to pass another Climb check still, it's only DC 8. Jask and Heraclitus are stuck on a ledge 30 feet below.

Hadzi unlatches a coil of rope from the outside of his pack and tosses one end down to Heraclitus and Callus. He looks about for something to secure the other end to.

Using Hadzi's rope, the group of Pathfinders are able to rescue their fallen comrades and continue their way up the path. You spend the next three hours scaling and walking up the mountainside, towards the sense of the disturbance until you come across a cave in the Mountain. Chatter starts in your minds, much of it is babbling and there are words in languages you can't understand, though two questions ring out in your mind over and over, "How do rainbows swim and why do they smell like peanuts being born?"

Stepping into the cave mouth reveals a green luminescence that shines from fungi on the walls of this cave, while the winds outside create an animal-like howl as they whip past the entrance. A narrow path runs along the northern edge, and a deep chasm slick with moisture splits it from another ledge to its south. To the east is a bridge, fuzzy with dark green mold. The entire cave is dimly lit and the cave itself is cool, and the air is still. The chasm between the west walkway and eastern ledge appears to be about twenty feet deep.

Casting light as you enter the chamber, it glimmers off a strange otherworldly creature on the opposite ledge. It resembles a plant though not one you have laid eyes on before. The babbling seems to be coming from the creature, deep into your minds. As soon as you lay eyes on, something about it shakes you to the core. All need to make a DC 14 Will save or take a -2 on all attack rolls for the combat.

@GM: If I recall correctly, the herbicide also gives the plant creature a negative level...not sure how that works though...

Hadzi calls on divine powers to aid the Pathfinders, which helps Daedin's arrow strike true, the herbicide tipped seeming to do tremendous damage. Callus's bomb goes wide, though some of the shrapnel does strike the creature. Unfortunately, none of the others seem to have any luck with their attacks, and several seem unnerved by the strange beast. It slithers forward a few feet before a pair of long tendrils snap out at the alchemist, though he sees them coming and easily dodges them both.

Attack vs Callus: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 111d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Attack vs Callus: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 121d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

With another well placed, herbicide coated arrow, Daedin puts down the fungus for good! It's death screams are horrific in your minds as it cries out that its work was nearly finished.

Out of combat!

With the threat eliminated, the Professor runs into the cave, excitedly jumping and clapping. "Well well! The cause of the Phenomena has been stopped, well done indeed! You must join me later at the Sincomakti School of Sciences so that I can study any of the long term effects of the creature's attacks on your minds. And please, would you mind carrying the remains back to my lab? I have much to study!"

The bottom of the chasm is littered with bones and corpses from previous victims, as well as plenty of broken equipment. A thorough search does turn up some useful items though, as you find a necklace of fireballs type I with only a single bead remaining (3d6 fire damage), damaged set of gloves of climbing and swimming that only grant a +2 competence bonus on both skill checks, and a robe of useful items with several patches remaining.

With the demise of the dreaming fungus, the villagers report a steep drop in strange phenomena. Storms cease, nightmares subside, and life returns to normal— at least until another terror rises in Ustalav.
