Doodle casts Mirror Image and suddenly there are 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 additional versions of Doodle standing nearby.

![]() |

Lasaraleen watches in shock as the large creature slams her friends.
Ewwww, yuck! That hit was a dreadful injury. Jair, are you ok?

![]() |

I will heal you as soon as I am able. The sooner we drop this creature, the better.

![]() |

Electra looks at the wounded Jair and shrugs.
"We pay in blood every day!"

![]() |

Yes, and the Dawnflower gladly replenishes the payment for a holy cause.

GM Abraham |

Round 1->2 - the bold may post
Conditions:
Tonkk - 35 dmg;
Doodle - dmg; Mirror Image (5);
Red - 19 dmg;
Electra - dmg;
Meriseil - dmg;
Jair - 16 dmg;
Lasaraleen - dmg;
Electra reflects back on her studies to recall what she has learned of lead golems. She remembers that divination spells cast near them always fail (and indeed, she recalls that when she cast detect magic earlier, she could not even see the magic auras of the items that she and her companions carry). She's also confident that their sheer weight and sturdiness give them an almost intractable density; it will probably be particularly difficult to bull rush or reposition it. She can't recall lead golems having any notable weaknesses.
Tonkk steps forward and swings twice at the golem with his adamantine glaive. His first blow strikes the creature resoundingly, sending tiny pieces of metal flying into the air. They are so small, and there are so many of them, that the creature is now surrounded by a cloud!
The cloud (marked on the map with a red dash) does not obscure visibility but anyone in the cloud, or who passes through it, must give me a Fort save.
Tonkk's second swing misses.
Where Doodle once stood, there are now 6 Doodles, all looking equally menacing.
The golem attempts to return the favor to Tonkk, with two fearsome swings of its heavy arms, both of which connect with the noggin of the angry barbarian.
Slam: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (5) + 21 = 26
Slam dmg: 2d10 + 8 ⇒ (1, 9) + 8 = 18
Slam: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (9) + 21 = 30
Slam dmg: 2d10 + 8 ⇒ (2, 7) + 8 = 17
Then the golem takes a step backwards into the cloud.
Pathfinders are up!

![]() |

Wait! Something is not right with the cloud of dust. Why did it back up and not continue to attack? By the Dawn, I do not trust it.
She considers her spells to deal with the creature but discovers her prepared spells have left her quite unprepared.
Usually I have a summoning spell, but decided against it this morning. I was hopeful to call a creature of air to blow the cloud, but cannot. Healing or direct attacks are all I can provide here.
Most likely will channel to heal, but delays until the party formulates a response.

![]() |

Electra quickly scans the cloud after casting detect Magic.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (5) + 19 = 24

![]() |

Jair steps back from the entrance to be out of reach of the Golem and says.
Electra, what do you think we need to find another way around? It's the only entrance!
Nodding to Lasaraleen she says Healing will be good.
She casts Heroism on herself.
Know. (arcana): 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 7 + 2 = 27

Round 2 - the bold may post

Doodle - dmg; Mirror Image (5);
Red - 19 dmg;
Electra - dmg;
Merisiel - dmg; On delay
Jair - 16 dmg;
Lasaraleen - dmg; On delay
The pathfinders stare at the cloud of lead particles in dismay, none seeming willing to dare entry.
Electra attempts to learn if the cloud might be magical, but her spell fails utterly. She cannot even detect magic on the items she is wearing. She recalls (again) that divination spells automatically fail in the vicinity of a lead golem.
Jair casts a spell to make herself (even more) heroic. Jair, your knowledge (arcana) check gives you one question about lead golems.
Doodle hurls 4 bolts of magical force at the golem, but they don't seem to do anything at all.
Both Lasaraleen and Merisiel delay, waiting for a more opportune moment to strike.
Tonkk is up!

Jair - 16 dmg;
Lasaraleen - dmg;
Tonkk is up!

GM Abraham |

@GM what magic/spell can work on the golem?
With Lasaraleen's channel, all of Jair's wounds are healed up.
Thanks Dove!
Jair recalls that golems are immune to magic, which means that anything that permits a spell resistance check will automatically fail.
Jair was at 35 dmg, so she still has 19 dmg after Lasaraleen's channel.

GM Abraham |

Tonk is our only chance to scratch this thing.
You all noticed that Tonkk's attack that hit appeared to do full damage to the creature.

GM Abraham |

Round 2 - the bold may post
Conditions:
Tonkk - 19 dmg;
Doodle - dmg; Mirror Image (5);
Red - 19 dmg; miasma (1)
Electra - dmg;
Merisiel - dmg; On delay
Jair - dmg;
Lasaraleen - dmg;
Oops, sorry my last post was written in haste and I goofed. Damage totals should be correct now.
Jair recalls the magical acid attacks can actually make the lead golem's slam attacks even more potent by coating it in acid for some time. She also believes that a gust of wind or neutralize poison spell might help dissipate the cloud of lead particles (the miasma), and even prevent it from using the ability, at least for some time.
Tonkk is up!

Red - 32 dmg; miasma (1)
Electra - dmg;
Merisiel - dmg; On delay
Jair - dmg;
Lasaraleen - dmg;
Tonkk lunges forward and strikes at the golem twice. His first blow hits, sending up another cloud of particles, but his second attack misses.
Tonkk, is your character sheet or other details available somewhere that I'm missing? I went to look at your PC to see if you were using the Lunge feat or something else and couldn't find any details at all. It's very helpful for me to be able to look at PC's characters as we go along in case I have a question about how something is working. Also, are you a chained or unchained barbarian?
A note to all about the position of the miasma cloud: you'll notice that it's in a slightly different position now. It didn't move. Tonkk's blow created a new cloud, centered on the golem's current position, while the former one expired (i.e. the particles settled down to earth).
Red steps forward 5' and slams into Tonkk, hitting him twice. (This wipes out the 16 temp hp from rage and leaves you with 40 "real" dmg by my tally).
Slam: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (2) + 21 = 23
dmg: 2d10 + 8 ⇒ (7, 4) + 8 = 19
Slam: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (16) + 21 = 37

Yep, this is indeed Core - thanks for the reminder! - juggling too many things at once these days! Lol. Tonkk, please send me a copy of your character sheet by email to abezab at gmail. Thanks.
Lasaraleen offers some healing to cure some of Tonkk's wounds.
Tonkk, so just to clarify about your hp total, is 103 your baseline and then you have 16 from rage on top of that, or 103 includes the 16 from rage? It would be helpful to indicate this in some way in your character tagline. In any case, I've added the 16 points of damage back into your damage total (that I had originally left off because I thought they were soaking up temp hp). By my tally, after Lasaraleen's latest cure you still have 34 damage. Let me know if this doesn't seem right to you.
Tonkk lashes out with his glaive again, hitting the golem once. Another burst of particles forms a cloud around the creature, though Tonkk, attacking with a reach weapon, remains outside of it. i.e. no Fort save needed by Tonkk
Doodle easily avoids whatever ill effects the cloud may offer.
Electra, Merisiel, and Jair are up!

Electra begins to summon an air elemental.
Jair invokes the blessings of the gods, in hopes that it will aid her comrades.
Merisiel tumbles into the room, past the lumbering golem that is still wondering how it didn't hit Doodle, and into the cloud. Fort save vs cloud: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 The stench of the particles do not appear to bother her. With a flank provided by the many Doodles and Jair's blessings, she is able to deliver a powerful blow to the golem, though it is not the critical strike she hoped for. It also seems to her that the golem's hard skin deflects some of the force of her blow.
The cloud doesn't cause a miss chance - you can see through it fine.
The Red Golem continues its relentless assault on Tonkk, striking him twice with fearsome blows, and then stepping backwards 5'.

Red - 78 dmg; Acid bonus damage (1/3);
Electra - dmg;
small air elemental - dmg; whirlwind form;
Merisiel - dmg;
Jair - dmg;
Lasaraleen - dmg;
Electra magically calls forth a small orb of acid and hurls it at the golem. (In order to see the golem you need to move up to the doorway, behind Jair; I've moved you.) Although she is throwing through her friend Jair and into melee, she still easily hits the lumbering golem. (Your math is wrong: -4 for cover from Jair, -4 for shooting into melee, and possibly +1 from Bless (it's not clear from your post if that's already included or not - you'll make my job a lot easier if you note which effects you are including as modifiers - thanks. Even with the lower to-hit roll, you still hit). The acid splatters all over the golem but it does not seem to have the desired effect. (Acid Splash isn't affected by SR, so it bypasses the golem's immunity to magic, but...) The golem seems to be immune to acid. Worse, the acid seems to drip all over the creature, coating it in acid, which will undoubtedly make its already fearsome slam attacks even more potent, at least for a time. (I'll just note that this was already relayed to the party through Jair's knowledge check - I hope that ignoring it doesn't prove too costly for you).
Rounds of bonus acid damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Meanwhile, Merisiel is nearly poisoned by the cloud before it dissipates, but divine intervention saves her. She stabs out at the golem with the aid of Doodle as a flanking partner (It will make my life easier if you note whether you are including modifiers like flank, bless, or Doodle's aid in your attack roll - thanks). She hits it but barely any of the damage penetrates its tough skin. However, the Pathfinders are all undoubtedly relieved to see that the elemental's whirlwind quickly whisks away any lead particles before they form another cloud. (You are not quite in flanking position - I've moved you 5' to give you the flank).
Ignoring its other foes, who have so far done little to it, the golem steps forward 5' and continues its assault on Tonkk.
Slam attack: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (14) + 21 = 35
Slam dmg: 2d10 + 8 ⇒ (8, 5) + 8 = 21 plus Acid dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Slam attack: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (13) + 21 = 34
Slam dmg: 2d10 + 8 ⇒ (1, 6) + 8 = 15 plus Acid dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Both attacks hit. Tonkk is looking pretty battered. (Tonkk, do your 103 hp include your bonus hp from rage? Also, just a reminder that if you fall unconscious your temp hp disappear, potentially killing you outright. I note that you have the Diehard feat, which will help, but still...)
(Bolded) Pathfinders are up! Doodle, note that I need a Fort save from you vs poison, which you can take at any time during your turn.
Edit: looking through your PCs to see if there's anything that you could be doing to help yourselves, I note that a couple of you have the ability to cast Grease (which does not allow SR, and would therefore bypass the golem's immunity to magic). And it looks like Lasaraleen has an adamantine scimitar, and you've noticed that Tonkk's adamantine weapon has been doing full damage to the golem.
