To be honest I came down here in order to make sure you were not with them and I'll take a risk that you're being truthful mostly because I don't have much interest in going head to head with you"

I think the others will be able to do it but better safe then sorry and you certainly look capable of handling yourself in a fight" Jo says as she takes a glance back at the ongoing battle "Me I prefer to work from the sidelines and ideall not actually fight at all, unfortunately this sort of threat is not one that allows for easy use of my other talents." Jo says with a shrug searching the general area for any of the discarded and still functional ranged weapons.

Assuming Jo can nap a gun of some sort and that it still works she will be seeking out some form of cover and if possible also taking a shot from as far as she can on Living Lightning

Impervious: A defense with this modifier is highly resistant. Any effect with a resistance difficulty modifier equal to or less than half the Impervious rank (rounded up) has no effect. So, for example, Impervious Toughness 9 ignores any Damage with a rank of 5 or less. Penetrating effects can overcome Impervious Resistance (see the Penetrating extra description). You're being hit by a super with a str of 10 and can change his fists into any metal he wants, he is not your average human wearing brass knuckles.

Cosmos dives and rolls for cover behind some crates. I'm looking for some cover bonus from the 'Heat rays'. From his covered position he yells to Vohon, "What's the deal with your powers? I get Russian Bear, That's a good theme. I like it..." In the middle of taunting Cosmos blasts the bear-man. "but what's with the fire? That doesn't make any sense.

I don't think she can take 10 on this. You are correct that my intent is to beam out all the wounded while the fight is going on, and not fighting, so taking 10 may be appropriate. The problem is that it is not a skill use so a routine check doesn't seem to me to apply.

I view the unreliable flaw (roll) as more like Murphy's law, it only acts up when you don't want it to or when it adds to dramatic tension, as long as ATHENA or the Zephyr are not attacking or defending they can take ten. If the baddies were attacking or ATHENA was trying to transmat someone out of combat then the unreliable would flare up and you would need to roll.

Jo let out a sigh as the icy woman intensified the snowstorm she was creating making it difficult to actually see anything normally, thankfully the cowls built in infravision alleviated that issue. For herself. The others were certainly capable of rather fantastic feats but actually accomplishing anything in this storm short of blasting an entire area was likely to become increasingly difficult.

"Zed we need to take down Frosty she's going to make thing way too difficult if we let her stick around" Jo said as she took aim on the Ice woman firing off a blast at her and then if necessary providing Zed with direction on where the woman was. Once her shot is fired Jo scurries away to find another hiding spot.

It has two firing settings; the first fires a impact gel infused with charged energy (beanbag round and taser in one), and based on the similarity with the bugmen guns you presume that the second setting fires a immobilizing round (immobilize DC18). The manufacturers mark says VeriTech.

@QNetic - It was a melee attack so it would go against your parry not dodge. Living Lighting hasn't been throwing electrical bolts it's been zipping around touching people.

@Chris 114 - the -2 for partial concealment was increased to -5 for total concealment, so it is only a -5 to your melee and ranged attacks. Your attack roll would be 23 not 21. Until you heal you still have the -2 from damage but that is only applied to your damage resistance checks.

Capt. Cosmos' aim bypasses Cold Snap's defenses and gets a direct hit knocking her unconscious.RC: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 8 - 2 = 13

Alright so Bulba I have this idea for what I might want to do, but I'm not entirely sure if it would work. I'd like to theoretically spend a Hero Point in order to have Cat push the gun to it's limits and put out all the power it has in order to try and blast Alloy and knock him out in one go. What would be the best way to accomplish this? Would simply re-rolling a poor roll likely accomplish what I'm looking for or is there something more I could theoretically do with what I currently know about the gun? I think regardless I will use a Hero Point to get that Inspiration effect.


@Chris 114 - That is correct, they have 9 shipping containers on the barge right now.

@Cat - Inspiration: There's not much you could do to the gun that would be capable of knocking Alloy out in one hit but you could rig it to overload and cause a concussion wave that could knock Alloy into the harbor (the only metals that float also react very badly with water). It wouldn't knock him out but it would remove him from combat until he can climb out in 3 to 4 combat rounds.
