Ardan finds that it is indeed another spellwell for evocation. He also feels, that the chair is hot to the touch, because it is made of siccatite, one of the starmetals.
What do you mean it can take us someplace? I have no idea what you are talking about…. An evocation spellwell isn’t that like a trap? Why are you talking about transportation?

We could also go back to the city with our wayfinders and rest there/stock up on any scrolls.

You have a starmetal chair and a disc. I assume that the star metal is related to the school and if you remove the chair, you destroy the spell well. If you have a way to bring the whole setup - at least the floor with everything on it, there might be a chance to have it still work.

Ah, I had not realized the chair was part of the spellwell as it got mentioned separately; clearly not portable...
Sounds like heading back to town makes the most sense.
I suggest we plan on going down into the water next. Atua do you need to do anything to deal with being under the water?

I'd like to propose calling up Lini and selling our loot, and possibly buying some stuff. After the encounter with the Children of Light, where we ended up with 3 insane people out of 4, I think we should invest in upgrading saving throws... Cloak of Resitance + 5 is only 25000, and you can add a Lucky Horseshoe for 6800 (+1 luck) and a cracked pale green prism Ioun stone is 4000 (+1 competence). I suspect we have enough to help out Spug and Abo (and maybe Grergof too; I can repair the horn of blasting by getting praying for a make whole spell, given 15 minutes.
