I believe we have reached a point where mere armor is just not enough. The giants strike with enough force to pierce Varsk's enhanced armor. I suggest we start focusing on magics such as Displacement,Blur and Blink to make it so the attacks don't hit at all. I can research such things.

Big BABS that can routinely hit you will be a problem. Blur and Displacement give Miss chances and Blink as well, although you run the risk of missing.

Where the giants came from are natural lava tubes are roughly circular in cross-section. The tubes to the south have been extended recently, but are all dead ends. The tube to the north features one dead end and another one that is blocked by rubble that was put there.

The one to the east lead to a room of sorts. Half emerging from the rough stone floor is a curious pillar of granite. The block has seven sides and rises up through the roof above at an angle. The faces of the pillar still bear the faint markings of runes that have all but worn away with the passage of time.

As no one is interested or able to read that runes the party moves on. Next is a long, thirty-foot-wide hallway is lit by periodic torches guttering along the walls. Some of the torches have smoldered out, leaving areas of the hallway in dimmer light, but the entire length is lit enough to show off the grisly decor—limbs and entrails and heads hewn from bodies both human-sized and gargantuan litter the southern section of this hallway and hang from the walls by spikes or chains. As a result, the air here is rancid and foul. Three hill giants stand at the opposite end of the hall with a pile of rocks to throw. They all are missing an arm.

Lets ignore the 60ft range limit for the bombs this time.

The last giant is put out of his misery too. Walking forward you find more disgusting details. This chamber’s floor has been divided into three long forty-foot-deep pits, each separated by a ten-foot-wide wall. The tops of these walls double as walkways between the three pits. Each of the pits is filled with a hideous, foul-smelling slurry of gravel, water, splintered bones, and decayed globs of flesh.

Then at Spugnoirs suggestion he goes to the doors on the right

Darius opens the door to the right. This is a vast chamber torn into the volcanic stone. The room arches up to a vaulted ceiling some sixty feet above, while a natural ramp rises up to the east where mounds of ratty old furs have been heaped in several nestlike mounds. To the northwest, a large sinkhole slumps into the ground.

There are six giants of the non fire type. Some sleeping, some awake. But nothing a pair of fireballs can't fix. Those who survive that line up at the door to get a beating by Grergof and a few moments later it is over.

Which leaves the door straight ahead.

But Grergof manages to step on a secret trapdoor, that opens to a greased chute. Via that he is sent down into one of those disgusting pits. There he faces a giant, crawling on all fours. The giant prostrates himself at Grergof's feet and swears on the name of all the giant clans to serve him faithfully to the end of his days.

Wow Giant Grergof has a heavy load of 2080 lbs so I can carry a hill giant easy.

This vast circular chamber rises to a height of sixty feet, the smooth stone walls tapering upward to form a conical ceiling. The floor of the chamber is made of a layer of wooden planks, but periodic gaps between the floorboards reveal that a dark hollow space extends below. Stone double doors sit to the south, while to the east and west large sections of wall have crumbled away to allow access to caverns. A lava tube to the west winds deeper into the rock, although a side ramp seems to lead up and out to the surface. To the east looms a large cavern dominated by an immense throne made of wooden timbers and mastodon bones. Beyond this huge throne rise two ledges—the higher one is littered with a prodigious mound of animal pelts and furs, while a large battered chest sits against the eastern wall of the lower ledge.

Four giants are brawling in the area behind the door. To the right presumably Jubbek sits on his throne enjoying the spectacle. Besides him stands a fire giant guard and a busty giantess fawns all over him. A smilodon lies on a mastodon fur and three more giants are back in the sleeping chamber.

As the door opens, the four brawlers stare at Togbad standing in the corridor outside.
