I then mis remembered the gender. So Kini do not get access to acid damage. Like ever. It seems. So If acid will be very useful alchemist seems the best bet there. I can also fulfill buffer, aoe, and ranged. Not greatly. But it can be done. However I am not overly sure I like the flavour of alchemists.
I will read the player guide and see.
Why will acid be useful in book 2 if I may ask?

If you face things that are immune to magic and have DR10/Adamantine you're glad about everything that does some damage at all.
Alchemist is one of the few who does elemental damage without it being magic and therefore it is not influenced by SR and such. And about the concept. You can do the Mc Gyver, or Hanibal from the A-Team. Throw a bomb that ends the fight. Light a cigar. Say: "I love it when a plan comes together."
Or do it Sherlock holmes like. Or the classic Dr. Jeckyl. The only thing about an alchemist is that he has vials for his bombs in his spell component pouch. And a bag with tools to mix his stuff. Just like Gwen has if her spells are bottled. All flavour of the class is in your head.

She explicitely mentioned that also a single sided love interest would be interesting to play.
And poison use sucks. If you have five lines of defense it could be useful to poison an attacker you can't defeat. To soften him up for the next line.
But as the attacker? I've never seen a group do something like: Lets go in make them waste their buff spells and poison them and then retreat. With another attack planned two hours later. Even if that would be a great strategy if you know they have no means of regenerating.
What flavor do you like?

I am thinking of a really old guy. Friendly doting old grandfather type. He doesn't let the party know he is an alchemist. He introduces himself as a man of many skills.
He doesn't give his allies potions so much as leave them for them to find when they wake up, or slip them into treasure piles. Same goes for his extracts. A bunch of infusions get made in the morning and put with a note next to beds. His bombs are seldom to be used, for emergencies mainly. I can't think of a way to flavour them or to use them without him throwing bombs. I was thinking perhaps
"I just know I have something in here somewhere!" He says digging in his bag, throwing things out to look (his bombs) and then he pulls out an arbitrary item and turns around and is shocked by the explosions

I took a look at the Summoner and her Eidolon.
You know the setting of the Harrowstone? Haunted prison besides small village full of superstitious people. Half orc summoner summons creature. Creature kills someone and then eats that creature to imbue the half orc summoner with an evolution that lets him grow a leg, or a thick arm able of slam attacks for a minute.
100% safe method for instant friends :P
If the other players are willing to warm up to that they will possibly hide her in a cell in the Harrowstone and bring some food every morning when they come back to do more exploring.

He only gets the infusion discovery for use with cure extracts. none of the buff extracts.
I was looking at mind chemist.
Just because that is what the flavour says isn't necessarily what it has to be. You say the campaign focuses on undead. He wants to play a librarian type character, so I suggested he flavour it as the eidolon consuming left over negative energy from the undead and as a byproduct it gives the summoner bonuses. We can also suggest the more passive evolutions for him, like skilled and stuff like that.

How should I know. You should invest in stealth if you try to sneak potions on night stands and in diplomacy to talk yourself out of it when you're caught.
But personally I don't think you can pull of this "Ooops why did this explode?" very long. To be hesitant to use this rather antisocial ability of yours - yes. Doing as if you don't now about it is not really believable once you have to use it on a regular basis.

That is a once or twice thing. However pretending that they are alchemists fire or some such will last a little bit longer. He is going to try hide his alchemy for as long as possibly basically.
Also, he will be a somewhat competent archer so that helps as well
