Barid Naismith |

Sorry about that, thought you were asking out of character.
"Look, little guy. We're not going to hurt him, We just want to make sure that your master is okay."

MiniGM |

1d20 + 21 ⇒ (12) + 21 = 33
Belsiard pipes up in Draconic as well.
He is speaking the truth. Perhaps we can help your master.
I set the DC at 20...you were close enough so just gave a little Deus Ex Machina to keep us moving.
The Lizard steps aside hopping down to its masters foot. It still watches warily as Barid approaches.

Barid Naismith |

I'll slowly approach and check the man for obvious wounds or anything like first. Depending on what I'll find, I'll then use one of my CMW potions and see if the man can swallow it. I know that you mentioned that the man was suffering from poison, but I don't know if that information was conveyed to me or not.

MiniGM |

I think we can safely assume it was, however there are obvious wounds on him.
Barid slowly pours the potion down the Prisoners throat. Immediately his breathing seems to come easier and some color returns to his face.
2d8 + 2 ⇒ (3, 3) + 2 = 8
Is Belsiard the only one with any way to cure ability damage? If so I will have him act, but I am trying to not use him much since I know what is going on.

Ynaeve Amryln |

Sorry, arcane only here
Ynaeve watches with concern as the others try to save the wizard. Let me know if I can help, but I have no healing magic.
Pulling a small piece of jerky from a pocket she holds it out to the familiar. You must be famished, to help him, you need keep your own strength up.

MiniGM |

1d20 + 23 ⇒ (17) + 23 = 40
The lizard hesitantly sticks out it's neck and snags the jerky and chews on it, though he warily watches the others.
Belsiard steps forward and casts mythich CMW and CSW
10d8 + 50 ⇒ (5, 1, 2, 8, 7, 7, 7, 3, 6, 2) + 50 = 98 and 5 pts ability damage
The man opens his eyes and screams. Who are you? Please just kill me! I can't take anymore!

MiniGM |

No obvious clues around as to what they were being kept for Bariel. Other than the man named Silk had said that he was the leader of a local resistance cell that had recently been destroyed. As the leader he was kept to be tortured and sacrificed.
No one has any info about the man and the lizard.
There is also a holy symbol of some sort.
The holy symbol is of LLiira

Bariel |

cant make that DC untrained
"Hey, there are some ledgers here and a holy symbol of some sort," Bariel says, holding up the symbol for someone more knowledgeable in that realm to see.

Barid Naismith |

I'll give the ol' religion thing a try...
Know (religion): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 Add 15 from the headband, if that is considered fully activated yet.
Never mind, even with the headband, I still didn't make it. It must be my day for low rolls, I just rolled a bunch of 2's and 3's DM'ing my other campaign.
I'll give the familiar a bit of my jerky as well, and then step back, as Belsaird does his work.

MiniGM |

no it takes 24 hours
The Lizard takes the jerky and has quickly eaten both. It is obviously quite hungry.
Please stop. Please. Just kill me. The man weeps. He barely notices the healing, though physically he looks better. He is terrified.

Barid Naismith |

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 Well at least it wasn't a 2...

Bariel |

Bariel pulls a small leather roll out of his sleeve and unrolls it, inside is strapped numerous lockpicking tools.
perception for traps: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (13) + 25 = 38
disable device: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (18) + 28 = 46

Barid Naismith |

"We'll do our best, and those are pretty good odds."

MiniGM |

My name is De Witt, I am an Adept of Lliira. I am a healer, nothing more. My friend here He gestures to the lizard [/b] has been sneaking me bits of food and trying to free me since I came here. [/b]
He looks into the desk and removes the holy symbol there and kisses it. I will help you, I have no spell components so I am limited to a few healing spells, and I have some limited ability to channel as well. I have no armor, would one of you be able to cast invisibility on me?
The man named Silk steps forward. Well met all. I am Silk, former traveling companion of Belsiard. I have led a resistance in this cirt until last night. We were attack and alsughtered, as the leader I was brough here. I am limited in what I can do currently, but I will fight with you. Through that door there is a hallway, at the end of it are a set of large double doors. Inside is the captain of this compound. It is a Marilith of great power. I suspect there will be foot soldiers around as well, but this demon is more power than any I have ever daved read mythic

Ynaeve Amryln |

Knowledge:planes 1d20 + 31 ⇒ (7) + 31 = 38 Base DC is 27, hopefully the mythic doesn't add more than +9, if it is unique, and mythic, do I know of this one in particular?
A marilith? That's going to be dicey. I could cast invisibility on you, but it would likely only make you a target as she can see all things as they are. Sonic attacks will do well against the likes of her, though she is highly resistant to offensive magical energies. If we can do it quietly, taking out any support she may have would allow us to focus on her. Otherwise, we would likely need to try and get to her as quickly and quietly as possible in the hopes of dispatching her before reinforcements showed up.
Ynaeve pulls another bit of meat out for the familiar.

Barid Naismith |

"What should we expect from these cultists?"

MiniGM |

Just before they go into the room, Silk draws a pair of daggers, from his recently reclaimed gear, then he reads a scroll taking on a stonelike appearance, then finally he disappears from sight. I have no desire to get near that beast, but with luck, I can elminate a caster or two, if there are any present. Just like old times eh Bel?
Belsiard casts mirror image on himself 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6, for a total of 6 images. So it seems Silk. I will try to get close enough to the creature to lower its resistance to magic, and perhaps disarm some of those swords.
De Witt walks to Ynaeve, I know it might not matter but perhaps I could have the invisibility, and a mage armor if you can...I am worried about this, but I will strive to heal you.
note in this combat, when it comes I might be doing off screen rolls, as nightskies did, it just depends on where i am and how i am posting.

Belsiard the Wanderer |

Well why not? I would rather fighter her with fists than with swords...yuck.
also note that your weapon must be a base +5 to overcome epic DR. +4 and shocking does NOT count. That is my understanding, if that is wrong you will have to point me to the literature on it.

Bariel |

Bariel will also use Protection from Evil from his wand. Additionally, just before going in he will use 1 MP to activate his mythic goggles, so in addition to the normal Darkvision, Detect Undead, and See Alignment (Chaotic Evil), the mythic point applies Evil Outsider Bane to his weapons for 1 min.

Bariel |

i covered this with Nightskies when we made characters, but a relevant part of my build operates as follows:
Rogue Talent: Weapon Snatcher (Ex): A rogue with this talent can make a Sleight of Hand check in place of a combat maneuver check when attempting to disarm an opponent.
Sleight of Hand (Dex) +43
panther style feat
panther claw feat
panther parry feat
also have improved disarm so i dont provoke an AoO by disarming
The gist of which is that i move through an enemy's squares, provoke an AoO, and when they go to take it, i get a retaliatory attack that takes place just before their attack. I can have that attack be a disarm, roll a sleight of hand to disarm them, so then they dont have a weapon to attack with. obviously a Marilith has a weapon in each hand so it will only be a minor inconvenience for her. i can disarm in this manner twice per round (it is wisdom based)
as additional and optional fun, this:
Mythic Ability 3: Improbable Prestidigitation (Ex or Su): You can make a Sleight of Hand check to hide or retrieve objects in a personal extradimensional space. Items the size of a potion or dagger can be stored or retrieved with a DC 20 Sleight of Hand check, but the DC increases to 25 for items roughly the size of a one-handed weapon. Items larger than a one-handed weapon can be stashed and retrieved but the DC is 35 or three times the weight of the object, whichever is greater. You can store up to one cubic foot of gear in this fashion per trickster tier. Storing an item is a swift action, and retrieving it is a move action. By expending one use of mythic power, you can retrieve any number of items from your extradimensional space as a swift action.

Tarwas, E’Sum Tel Myth Drannor |

Actually, you need a +6 weapon to overcome epic DR. There are a handfull of ways to do this though, such as a +4 (or +5) bane weapon.
+5 + shocking etc does indeed not count, since shocking does not increase the enchantment bonus.
Tarwas also casts a few more spell before entering.
Blur, Mirror Image 1d3 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7, Resinous Skin, Stoneskin, and, depeding on how long since the last fight has passed, shield.
Also, renew the swords enchantments.

Barid Naismith |

So, from what I am gathering (since I haven't looked at the Marilith in the Bestiary), is that it has Epic DR, so my puny +1 blades aren't going to touch it, no matter what I do? Also, will my character be able to piece this together, from the info that Ynaeve gave earlier?

Barid Naismith |

Fair enough, but I think that Barid will work on the supporting cast, and leave the big guy to everyone else, at least at the start.
EDIT: I'll use my Greater Invisibility power, since I'll be focusing on the support.

Ynaeve Amryln |

Ynaeve has several spells active already (look in spoiler) due to her spells memorized, she also has a defensive boon ready and will use it on the first attack aimed at her that it would apply to.
She will also activate Arcane Sight, Blur, Invisibility and of course she has Fly on.
Just before everyone enters, she will cast haste on the party.
She'll follow the others with her staff and a wand of Scorching Ray in hand.

Bariel |

the thing he was talking about regarding Bane weapons vs Alignment-based DR is that BANE weapons are treated as an enhancement bonus of +2 greater than what they already are. So a +4 Evil Outsider Bane weapon (such as my weapon is currently) is treated as +6 for purposes of defeating the DR of enemies who are subject to the Bane's effect (Evil Outsiders)

MiniGM |

map in my profile above
all are outside the door, and it will cost 5 feet to enter into the room.
The doors open and a virtual army awaits. To the sides of the door fires blaze 15 feet high, only 10 feet from the ceiling.
directly in front are 4 warriors from the galditorial arenas set up by the demons, each armed with trident and nets, behind them are two men armed with crossbow. The next row has to Glabrezu's (planes for info on them) and last is the Marilith, who stands with 6 arms and a long muscular tail that looks like it could wrap and crush a man with ease.
no surprise, they have been waiting since the room fell, and the fight in the hall, you have however won the initiative
Rd 1
Gladiator #1 suddenly spouts a spray of blood 1d4 + 4 + 1d6 + 3d6 ⇒ (4) + 4 + (1) + (4, 3, 4) = 20 then it screams in fear as if seeing something terrifying (Belsiard has cast phantasmal killer, the spell he stole from the casters) but he seems to pull himself together.
2d20 ⇒ (9, 20) = 29 6d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 3, 3, 3, 4) = 20
Go ahead folks. Note i will only be able to post from my computer on this one, too complicatd, and i will not be updating the map most likley but, do let me know what spaces you move into Silk and Bel are in D11 and D12, for those that can see the invisible

Tarwas, E’Sum Tel Myth Drannor |

Tarwas casts Wall of Force to separate the Demons and the Humans, then steps into the room.
Fill the whole line of 9 and 10 with the wall, up to 5 feet below the ceiling.
Then fly to F14 and hover 15 foot up in the air.
planes: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (8) + 26 = 34

Bariel |

Bariel will move to E11, provoking an AoO from a gladiator green dot 1. This will take 30 speed to get there, i have speed 40.
For this attack, my AC will be 38 (using both combat expertise and mobility).
- AC 40 if he is evil (i assume he is, as working with demons is not a neutral act typically)
If he takes the AoO, I will attempt to disarm his trident (the net will be disarmed as well if my check beats his by 10) disarm: 1d20 + 45 ⇒ (14) + 45 = 59
his AoO would then be made without the weapon (which would possibly permit me an AoO if he doesnt have Improved Unarmed Strike)
Kn:Planes: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (1) + 24 = 25 vs glabrezu now that i am close up and can hopefully get a good look
Gonna try to throw the trident at whatever that nearest blue dot is (CB1) (if i have the trident)
for these attacks, the weapon is treated as having the bane special ability if they are CE aligned, which means a possible +2 additional enhancement bonus
attack: 1d20 + 11 + 8 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 11 + 8 - 2 - 4 = 31 (plus the bonus of the weapon, +2 if CE)
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1 (plus the bonus of the weapon)
bonus damage if CE: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 6) + 2 = 14
pretty sure i have nothing in regard to sneak attack here, but here is the damage if i get it for acting before them in the first round:
8d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 4, 5, 5, 1, 5, 6) = 31
