I like contestant #4 for the adept. WHY are the halflings always so darned cute nowadays? They used to be fat and funny looking!?! ;P
Maybe a James Bond/Moneypenny type relationship? (They really are just good friends, but everyone suspects more?) ;P
So, I messaged you the bullet-points, I just need to write out the background and personality, although we both know where I'm going with that! ;P
And I've narrowed down to a few names,... (What?!? I'm picky! Sometimes.) ;P

Notes about religion:
Though religion in Cheliax is surprisingly liberal, certain things are not tolerated: worship of any chaotic deity (not surprising in an extremely lawful theocracy), and worship of any demon or devil besides Asmodeus. That means being an adherent of Cayden is not only unwise, but illegal.
Westcrown was expected to be the earthly home of Aroden, which hope died with that god. However, many of his great adherents, called the Founders, are still considered demigods and are worshipped in home shrines. It's entirely normal for a Wiscrani household to have a small area set aside for a shrine to a deity considered the family's particular patron, though most of the older families do select a Founder rather than some foreign god.
The six most revered Aroden founders in Westcrown are, in order of prominence:
- Founder Dotara, “She Who Watches and Waits;” spirit of guardians; patron of the dottari
- Founder Palmor, spirit of rivers and renewal; patron of fishermen and midwives
- Founder Rixana, spirit of the bounty of deep waters, patron of pearl divers and shellfishermen
- Founder Adel, spirit of woodcraft, patron of shipwrights and boatbuilders
- Founder Crucisal, spirit of water travel and navigation; patron of ferrymen and adeliers
- Founder Vadrus, spirit of crystals and artistry, patron of glassmakers and artists

Call me anything EXCEPT late for dinner!
:)
Sorry, Besides being busy, I have been dealing with the flood-pocalypse here in southern Lousy-anna.
I got a little water in my house, not bad at all, BUT it came in through my garage.
Everything on the floor not in tupperware was a complete loss.
Did I mention that both my wife and I are packrats? :/
So, spent last 3 days clearing out my garage and salvaging what I could.
Good news, my GARAGE is cleaner than it was when I moved in!
bad news, my HOUSE looks like a disaster area, (from all of the stuff we brought in trying to save) ANd it is now raining again. :P
Sigh,... Why can't life be like PbP's? ;P
Um, you know, with the GOOD GM's?!? ;)

You two seem to have the worst luck, Treppa.
"If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all,..."
;P

Flaming sage is stinky. :P
Quick update:
I've been chunking away at this in the background. I have great backstories chock full of details and adventure hooks important people from everyone appropriate.
Theo and Portia have special backstory needs that I have to work with you guys on. I'll PM this weekend with a ground floor backstory we can use to build. At least now I know where you fit in the grand scheme of things.

Administrative Note
I am posting some background information in Gameplay before setting your scene. You can go ahead and post then delete the post to effectively dot the gameplay thread, but don’t make any entries until I’ve got your scene set, please. Thanks!
PM with anything you need from me; we have time to finish getting set up before we need lackeys, etc.
This pbp will be a little different in that I'll toss in scenes like these from time to time. Everyone here is an experienced player and can keep player and game knowledge separate. I hope this will give you more background for the story and setting and make you feel more comfortable in your characters.

Rags, I'm sure you have just TONS of time, but here's some extra material on Cayden if you would like to learn more about your character's official church and tenets. This was from Second Darkness, so I think it's still 3.5 if any stats are floating around in there.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

I don't MIND puzzles (They aren't my favorite, but I don't mind them)
I do like the feeling that you get from actually figuring out a puzzle.
But since PbP is not quite the same as chatting over the puzzle at a table, I would very much like it if after so much time of trying to figure it our we get to try a INT check instead! :)
(Let's face it, I tend to play PC's who are a lot smarter than I actually am!) ;P

GM Treppa |

INT checks are fine. It's not fun to be stuck on something for a long time.
For purposes of getting the group together, I need you guys to have been working for other families than Grulios. Domenico is already associated with Menzinas and Vittorio with Tilernos. I was thinking Theo could work for House Phandros and Diego for Dioso until just before the game begins.
Everyone cool with that?

Ragadolf |

Sure, all works for me. :D
(Hurries to re-read all of the family names posted earlier, trying to remember who he worked for in the first place!) ;P
NICE entry/set up posts GM! I can already tell this is gonna be a very convoluted (In a good way!) adventure!
Hm,... wonder if a certain cleric of a not-safe-to-name-in-public Power would benefit by taking a level of Vigilante?
(Just thinking over here,.... Nothing to see,... move along) ;)

Discussion Thread:
And we are open for posting! Feel free to add conversation while strolling to the pub, acquaintances, staff, and barflies as you feel appropriate for your character; I will roll with it. I’ve got the Proprietor named and statted, but patrons and staff are free for you to create if you like. If not, I’ll do it as we go. In general, non-critical NPCs are plastic and co-operative creations.
Also, do you bring or invite your lackeys to this dinner/evening out with you?
