He recovered it with a pearl of power. Second-last line of the post in your link.

Ralph stamps his table leg a few times until Exiel gets the signal that he is to call out his familiar. When his familiar sees Ralph giving the signal, she pulls out another big grey cloth-like doll from Ralph's handy haversack and drops it to the floor, causing it to grow into another gargantuan statue. Ralph notes its location, then projects his consciousness into his original body, and then into the new statue.
Now with a new fresh stone body, Ralph picks up his old stone body and gives the party a nod. He is ready to carry on.

Gargantuan Construct |

Is Ralph's body still merged into the original construct?
Feral: Ah, the secret is out. Yes it is. That is why I am picking up the original construct body and taking it with me. Much like how one big dumb fighter might carry the body of another big dumb fighter.

Gargantuan Construct |

Ah, sorry. I didn't know that was supposed to be a secret.
Feral: It is not a big deal. I just like creating an air of mystery about Ralph and his methods. It was just to facilitate roleplay.

"Phew, that was alot of giants. Is the barracks next door or something? This was easily a small warband."
"Hey Rhon, I know it's hot in here, but I'm seeing alot more dwarf than metal when I look at you, and it's not just because you're now a giant dwarf. Is there some way we can help with that?"
What're we gonna do about Rhon's armour-problem? The good news I guess is that it is not destroyed...

![]() |

I was going to move things along. Did you want some time to resolve this?
Feral: Are any of the salamanders are wearing armor? How much longer will my CL14 enlarge person on Rhon last? What is the best suit of armor we have seen any of the giants wearing so far?

![]() |

Rhon & Exiel: The duration of my enlarge person spell is almost over. I can cast greater make whole using my spell study ability, but that would require me to end my greater object possession spell and I still have more than 2 hours on the duration so I am reluctant to do that. Perhaps Exiel can cast barkskin on Rhon to mitigate the reduced AC and we will keep a look out for medium-sized armor. Hopefully we find one before Rhon's armor breaks completely. What are your thoughts, Rhon?
Feral Let's have a search of the room. What do we find? Any medium armor?

![]() |

Once the enlarge person spell ends my armor is going to be destroyed. It only had as many HP's as it did because of the bonus from being enlarged. Without the armor my AC is a whopping 27. Of course that means that I will just have to take a few extra hits in combat until we either find some medium size armor or find a way to make me large for a whole lot longer of a time frame.
Rhon heaves a sigh of relief that the giants and salamanders have finally be defeated. "Thank Torag that is over with. I wasn't sure they would ever stop trying to peel me open like ripened fruit." Rhon looks at what little remains of his armor and pokes around the room a bit to try to find something to wear instead without any luck.
As the spell wears off that was keeping him enlarged Rhon's armor falls off of him into a pile of mangled metal at his feet. Rhon gives a forlorn look at the remains of his armor. "Well this is going to be an experience I haven't had in quite awhile. Would everyone please be so kind as to keep an eye out for any armor that might fit me as we make our way through here."

![]() |

"Here, Brother Delver. My magic is better-suited to a more dexterous fighting style and will not protect you as well as the steel that you are used to, but it beats trying to block a blow with your tunic."
Exiel puts the pieces of Rhon's armour into Ralph's handy haversack as well, then casts mage armour and barkskin (CL13) on him.
Mate, that's a +4 armor bonus to AC for 13 hours and a +5 enhancement bonus to natural armour for 130 minutes, though that won't stack with your amulet.

![]() |

"Thank you Brother Exiel. May the Father of Creation bless your works this day." Rhon hefts his shield and ax. "Now shall we continue our journey into the earth?"

![]() |

No worries Purs. I have natural DR and the boost from Exiel will help for now.

The party moves away from the stifling heat of the giant forges but finds that the heat within Ashpeak doesn't become anymore bearable the deeper they go. With fire resistance you won't suffer any ill effects.
After traversing several hundred more feet of widely channeled earth, the party enters an immense oblong cavern. At the far southern end the air shimmers over a wide pool of magma.
With no warning from Earl, the party attempts to pass through it only to be interrupted by a terrible roar that shakes the walls of the cavern. High above, red serpentine heads emerge from alcoves in the walls where they immediately spot the party. Several red dragons the size of draft horses emerge and begin circling the top of the cavern dangerously.

Exiel is up. You'll have to do without a map for now. The cavern is ~150 long and the dragons are ~200 feet up. I'll try to get a map up later today.

"Huh. Red dragons. Always thought you guys were solitary beings, but here you guys are, all squashed into a single cave. What are you, being raised to be ridden like mounts? Or are you pets? Or flying overgrown guard dogs? Pfft."
Exiel runs his mouth with a snicker as he adopts the crane stance, casts haste on the party, and then saunters around the edge of the cavern.
"You know when I was on Triaxus, I fought dragons. Bigger than you, and far more impressive. Majestic. Proud. They took your treasure and drank your milkshake whilst doing it. Far be it from them to play lapdogs to some filthy giants."
"Tell you what, doggies. How about we play a game. First one to tag me gets a treat."
Despite his careless facade, Exiel watches the magma pool warily...

DM Feral |

Exiel's fear is quickly justified as two creatures, shaped like fat earthworms but as large as oxen, emerge from the magma and beach themselves at the pool's edge.
They immediately wretch balls of hissing magma at the quipping sorcerer.

Statue-Ralph is up. I don't think it matters a ton but what's your initiative in statue form?

Statue-Ralph is up. I don't think it matters a ton but what's your initiative in statue form?
Feral: It should be 5 lower. Dragons A should go before me.
knowledge on the new creatures: 1d20 + 22 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 22 + 2 = 44 +6 more if arcana

DM Feral |

The dragons circle closer and begin to descend. They’re ~100 feet from the ground now.
Ralph recognizes the worm-like creatures as magma wyrms.
I’m not sure what info you wanted. There’s not a ton to know about them: DR/adamantine; immunity to fire; vulnerability to cold; ranged spit attack; nasty bite/grab in close range.
Table-Ralph is up.

Gargantuan Construct |

Feral: Usually my first question is which is their lowest save.
Ralph leaves the statue with his real body on the ground in the tunnel and then moves out into the cavern and prepares to grab the first dragon that comes within his reach.
grapple: 1d20 + 28 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 28 + 2 + 1 = 51
slam: 1d20 + 20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 20 + 2 + 1 = 40
damage: 2d6 + 14 ⇒ (6, 1) + 14 = 21

Gargantuan Construct |

Feral I am readying a standard action to grapple. But if I get an attack of opp beause of my reach I have also pre-rolled it. Those are 2 separate rolls for 2 different purposes.
Ralph nudges Exiel, points to the lava wyrms, and then taps his own head, indicating that Exiel should target their minds if using magic.

Gargantuan Construct |

I understand your ready. Your AoO spoiler says you're planning to grapple as an AoO which isn't possible. Unless I'm misunderstanding your roll.
Feral My apologies, I forgot to amend that after copy-pasting from my grapple roll. The attack of opp is a regular slam.

DM Feral |

Ah, that explains the confusion.
The party feels something enormous and immensely powerful swoop through the air and slam into Exiel before darting away back toward the room’s center.
Nobody can see it but Ralph would be aware of this thing after it hit Exiel. Did you want to trigger your ready?

Purs, Rhon, and Exiel are up.

Gargantuan Construct |

Feral I will indeed. I have no reason not to.
I believe your convention is that high is a miss.
miss: 1d100 ⇒ 37
"Impressive. I do believe that is the hardest hit I have ever seen Exiel take. It is rare enough that someone is able to strike him. Serves the fool right for mouthing off. But I suppose I should help him lest I suffer the same fate."

Yeouch! Do you mind not killing me while I am busy with work? XD
Any chance I would have had time to cast an emergency force sphere the moment I realised I was being rushed by something big that I could not see? And what is that DEX damage from?
"Argh!!! Tch... alright doggy, that was a dirty move, but ya got me. I'm gonna go get you your treats now. But first..."
Casting Echolocation. Was not expecting to encounter invisibilty in giants-central.
Cast defensively vs DC25: 1d20 + 13 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 13 + 10 = 42
If I was able to throw up an EFS, that ends my turn. If not, and I detect the monster that whacked me, I use smite evil on it and take a 5ft step back and call out its general location to the party. Otherwise, I'll just fly back towards Purs.
Forgot to roll temp hp from heroes' feast: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Comments/Questions
Hey Purs, I already cast haste. Might want to change your spell? Like something curative for me maybe? =D
GM, what's the DEX damage from? And would I have been able to cast emergency force sphere before I was attacked?
