As for possible names for the world, that's probably best up to you, DM since your deity would make the introductions anyway. You could scramble the world Legends (From the folks presenting the Dawn of Worlds game) to get stuff like: Slendeg, Degslen, Lengdes, Glendes or omething. I think that shuffling Paizo around is what got you Izopa?
BIC: "This place holds promise, we are going to have so much fun, well, I will at least."
Karmesh |
"A new place to bring light into, I see purpose in coming here."
Karmesh would like to call this new world Athersus, as it reminds him of is a former friend, a star who fell down onto the world to escape the approaching Night.
Nyakushuur |
"A place to feed and die upon, a place to start a new cycle of neverending growth. Yes..."
Nyakushuur doesn't care for names, only for life and (un)death, but she would like to ask that any rules clarifications from the other world project be reproduced in our campaign info? Reading how to really work within her turn confused her thoroughly, and she died a little inside. Quite literally.

I kind of like that one, and it makes sense that a sun king type would be bold enough to name it quickly
Omaz Almas |
"It's home to me"
*heads out to check the fields and scarecrows
Nimeton is currently inhabiting a farmer
I'm not sure we have people yet to inhabit. I think we're just about to start in the 'shaping the land' before we begin putting people on it. Unless you want to make the first race asap when we start
Nyakushuur |
Nyakushuur turns some of her eyes towards Omaz Almas. "There is no how or why, there is only life and death and rebirth and undeath." She devours a small part of her own, giving it unlife in the process. "I want to expand my senses, this nothingness is unfamiliar and not suited for my nature."
Dyrm |
"This nothingness is so boring! Why can't there be something to destroy at least. All I ask for is a small civilization going under, or a war to start."
The essence of shadow and mischief chuckles, but keeps its metaphysical distance, "Oh you'll be a popular one. 'Behold mortals, I have made you to break you... now give us a hug'."
Karmesh |
Karmesh gives Nyakushuur a stern look, but his burning gaze has no effect on her within the dislocated nothingness outside a world. "There is nothing right about this one," he says to Omaz Almas. "I sense death and darkness within her, which I won't tolerate within any realm under my light."
"You however," he turns his full attention to Omaz Almas, "are strong and tall and glorious. I think we are much alike."
Omaz Almas |
Omaz Almas stares into the void as he responds to Karmesh, he seems thoughtful, "I was tied to the mountains and storms of my old world, and they to me. Strength and Glory were my mantle, crafted by the ages to fit upon my shoulders. But now those mountains would be no more. Those storms long snuffed out. I am not sure how I outlived them. It was not meant to be. I was called Omaz Almas, so call me that if you wish. I do not know what we have in common truly, you seem to seek purpose. I seek to be and understand that being. But I shall take it as a compliment with my thanks."
Hexavos |
Oof so many posts in one night. I am impressed. I will put up campaign info and some clarification on the rules after work. The map will be up then too. For the record I will be moving turn order along as I deem necessary so you may occasionally fall behind a turn, you won't miss out on power gain though, so if you miss an action on a turn you can roll power gain for the missed turns as well as the current turn.
Belisous |
Belisous laughs at Dyrm's comment. "See why can't more gods be like you. The only reason mortals exist is to give us gods, and goddess something to do. Like wars, plagues, or genocide. Just thinking about it makes me want to burn something." With that Belisous's wings burn just a little bit brighter and she can't seem to wait for the start of this world.

"OOooo... I think you play a bit rough for my tastes, dread lady," A smirk plays along the mask that is Dyrm's face, "Mortals can provide a great deal of fun in softer areas too. But yes, they can be great fun. I regret there are no mortals here to play with... yet."
Dyrm |
"I too long for mortal flesh to consume, to resurrect, to feast upon, to grow upon..." Nyakushuur sighs with a gurgling sound.
"The ladies in the group seem a rather ravenous lot," Dyrm observes.
Atresse |
Long day yesterday, sorry. Short post now, more after work.
A pair of divine lights grow in the vast void. They resolve into a pair of deities, similar yet bearing some differences. The brighter of the two begins to speak, "We are not all so hungry. I wish for a place where mortals can grow in peace. As for my brother..."
Zurakar |
"Mortals can devise things even the gods fail to invent," the other deity continues. "If we nurture their ability with stable civilization, the gods also profit."
Dyrm |
"Mortals worship gives us strength, without their worship we fade away. So play nice with these frail beings"
"Worship equals power? Is that how it will work? How curious. I suppose I could offer them free ale with every prayer...
blast, I shall have to create Ale."Dyrm |
"Well, mindless undead servants may not feed, sleep, or die, but they also don't tend to laugh, or play. If you're going to seed undead along the world, give some of them personality, eh?" Dyrm chuckles.
Eyero |
Eyero laughs in return. But of course, Great Masked One. I don't have time to tell all of my servants what to do--That would defeat their purpose.
Turning to Almas, The undead are not abominations. Not any more than any other race of free-willed creatures. That they use the bodies of deceased beings does not mean anything other than that they recycle what nature has given them--Just as certain animals will take the discarded shells of other animals to use as their own. Why, the undead aren't even parasites! They do nothing to harm the creature they inhabit; so do not condemn them as unnatural or wicked. They just are.
My previous post was supposed to say daring* them. Dumb autocorrect.
Atresse |
"And when your undead flood the land and kill innocent mortals?" The radiant goddess says, her eyes opening and flooding the primordial void with sunlight. "What then? Will you still defend them, or is that what you crave!?!" Atresse is nearly shouting by the end, her entire body glowing with gold and silver light.
Zurakar |
"Be calm, dear sister," Zurakar interjects. "We command the two facets of magic. We can protect our creations when the time comes." With that, he turns to the one eyed being and says, "I trust you will keep your twisted magic away from our realm, or we will be forced to show you what true magic is. We wish only peace and prosperity for mortals..."
Atresse |
Atresse begins to speak, finishing her brother's sentence, "... but if you force us, we will destroy your creations to protect ours." Her eyes are once again closed, her emotions calmed.
So, seeing as we have two sun deities, maybe we could have a planet orbiting a binary star system. Just a thought.
Nyakushuur |
"Destruction is part of creation, and of life" Nyakushuur adds. "This other once who has the dark touch knows only death and undeath, and I shall consume his servants to bring forth life again, for it all belongs to my realm."
Atresse, that would be interesting, and maddening for Karmesh :)
Nimeton |
"I can see the use for undead, I can even understand they may have a practical use, but if someone has not finished their journey on the planet and they are used as fuel for an undead army there may be some issue. Mindless undead do not create, or innovate. They do not actively tell and create their own story. They may affect other mortals stories but do not inspire a story of their own accord. Most undead I have encountered were used for some unsavory ends."
Omaz Almas |
"I know what Undead are, at least were on the world I once dwelled. I doubt the undead on this world will be any purer. So I stand by what I said. For now though, I suppose it is moot. We focus on the beings, neglecting the shape of the world itself. There will be mountains to raise, forests to sprinkle upon the surface, and rivers to craft. Whatever beings come to be, they are not the end all and be all... they will need a nature to live in," Omaz Almas stares at the void as if trying to will it into the shape of land and seas.
Dyrm |
Mmm, the binary system could work. Not to sterotype, but maybe one of the suns could be softer, or of a slightly different hue to seem more 'feminine' while Karmesh could have the bright, at times almost harsh light? I'm not saying Artesse should only glow in pastels mind you ;) But if we have two suns, they should each have a different style at least.IMO
Omaz Almas |
Omaz Almas frowns at Belisous' comment, "Now you ask ME to change beyond my own cycle. I may have been ripped from my old one, and it had its seasons, each season only in its time... Still, I will consider what you say. I doubt I will create undead, or even many peoples period compared to some of you." I was among the first. I may have been the last before I was torn away. I am what I am, else I am nothing. Yet...when I bind to a new cycle, what will it do to me? To any and all of us? In the old world many came to me, drawn by my power, but they were mine only then. Maybe I should craft people after all. We'll see.
Omaz Almas |
I figure in his old world, Omaz made one or two races tops, but some created by other gods were drawn to him (Nature types mostly). He fell out of fashion the more advanced the civilizations got so while he's secretly smug about outlasting some of them, the idea of a new cycle makes him nervous. He's not lawful enough to want 'order in all ways' but this defiantly pricks those lawful quirks he does have. It might even scare him a little, not that he'd admit it. ;)
And I'm hoping we get our gameplay thread today. I find myself enjoying this without it even officially started ;)
