See, Wil? Everybody has a fun side. Even paladins. LOL!
It was sweet of the ladies to dote on you. Suny, in particular, showed Wil that he was an elf. That was a great exchange. The differences between them were stark.
An elf who's known the idyllic simple life elves can live among their own kind, contrasted with the principled warrior who's suffered so much around humans, is touching. *thumbs up smilie*
Seltyn's been a little weird, lately.
Seltyn was raised by academics. There aren't many left, as a portion of the population, compared to the heights of elven culture not so long ago, by elven reckoning. But it is a lost age, in most ways.
The Queen knew his name before he knew hers. Around the castle, most everyone did. They were almost all older than him. They had years to know him. He felt loved, but he didn't think he was particularly special or privileged. There was nothing else to compare his life to.

*Bows To Setlyn.
Glad I am t'be addin' t' th' adventure an'a fun. (^_^)
Lookin' forwards t' much adventure and exploratin'. An' not jus' o' th' world around us. (^_~)
Very much cheers to all.

The elves' defeat by the cultists was what ate at him. It was bound to be a tough fight, any way it went, but it took a dryad to save the party, not the other way around, and that memory still tortures him. He's watched every elf who's fallen since with the same sense of failure.
He understood, objectively, how dangerous these quests would be. He wasn't prepared for how much it would hurt, long after the physical injuries were forgotten.
He also understood, objectively, that this journey was no different than the rest. The Queen didn't have much to throw at any one pursuit. She had at least a premonition, this time. Nothing comforting about it, but these are not comforting times for the people.
He understands how dire things really are for elvenkind. They need alliances and influence, and these assignments must create opportunities for both, or else the elves would remain weak and isolated, and at the mercy of whatever forces might decide to attack. Maybe not in this century, but soon enough.

Hehe the setting with Suny was a lot of fun, plus rping Wil's age difference is interesting as well I think Thalas and Azlain are the only ones older then him while the rest are either younger or unknown :) I'm glad the differences were noticeable I'm trying hard to make Wil more human like then elven in the way he acts.
I had hoped for the exchange with Elorin to carry a little longer, but all in good time. :)
He's a deeper character then I could ever portray and more ahead of his time as well. One day I will find a way to turn his journal into an item to boost his skill checks for healing. :) one step at a time though.

Might I suggest we get some battlefeild control spells then? I know it might sound silly and obvious, but if we can fight our enemies 1 or 2 at a time instead of 100 or 200 at a time then its better. Hell, even something simple like wind wall would be helpful against ranged attacks, although it affects my own also.
Very cool to hear the insights into Seltyn. I might have been a little harsh on the bugger. Didn't realise he was so tortured.

Seltyn has about 100 gp., I think. He buys a scroll of magic missile and attempts to learn it.
1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 10 + 2 = 32
He sorta already knew it...LOL. He's got the following scrolls, the best of which he got from Thalas.
Scrolls: Grease (CL 1), Protection from Evil (CL 1)
Enlarge Person (CL 1)
Blur (CL 3)
Two scrolls of Haste (CL 5)
The strategy he likes is this: 3 of us can cast dancing lights. There should be at least one such spell up at all times at night, moving around over the water to illuminate any threats ASAP. Having a round or 2 to fire arrows and a ballista bolt or 2 before we close would be sweet. The thing(s) may have magic, but he has no way to shut it down.
Seltyn will use a haste scroll, giving 5 of us more speed and maybe an extra attack, then start casting whatever works to kill the enemy. Elorin or Suny can augment that advantage with inspire courage.
The key, to him, is spotting the threat early. We'll use our good perception and skilled archers to weaken it before it gets close. If it tries to board us or sink us, our speedy warriors will filet it!
If anyone has any more ideas, he's all long, pointy ears.

I love that change in tactcs, Wil is a very martial character and Magic is actually a new blessing to him. Hes had divine strength but among humans its more a Might Makes Right kind of world. Hence why he focused on the Martial weapons sort of approach. :)
Haste and Good Hope are two Awesome spells to put together add inspire courage and your are really raking in to-hit and damage. lol :D

Thalas Lebarath |

I don't expect to have reception where we're going, so I'm safe from temptation! :D But even if I did, my trip last week was too action-packed for me to post anything anyways.
I ran my wife through the Beginner Box, but Sir Crys-a-lot (he actually doesn't) came along and there hasn't been any time to get her to play since.

Wilaml Fmelvam |

Yeah I am lol, but I don't know what the square size is AND I just woke up. Keep swimming ranger boy. lol :p If she had been sleeping in the hold then I'd be able to reach her a little more quickly but for some reason everyone wants to sleep on deck. xD
That is if I am understanding the map right.
Next round I am going to cut that wretched little Human down...

Elorin Silentall |

I am not sure where I was sleeping, Where the DM put me. Thank you Wil, even if you cant get to me, thanks for trying. If I die I shall haunt the survivor and all who dare attack them!!!! Fear ghost Elorin for her song will be the last thing you hear in the mortal realm!!!

Wilaml Fmelvam |

Anytime Elorin, you just keep wiggling and I'm gonna put a sword in this guys guts.
Here's a question... I know this is core only so I'm assuming we don't have hero points right?

Wilaml Fmelvam |

lmao!
Nice, coming from the guy whose face is a wreck. xD Very Nice!
I just saw that I cure Fatigue Twice now lol, my normal mercy is remove fatigue and the necklace I received does it as well. :)

Thalas Lebarath |

I'm effectively going on "vacation" in less than 10 minutes; feel free to NPC me to keep things moving over the next few day. My plan was to follow Azlain around and buff and heal as necessary since he's closest to me.

Wilaml Fmelvam |

For those of you who weren't here last time I npced Talon for a day, I have done so in the past and if he is here he can take over as soon as he wants. But for the most part this will keep things moving abit~
I can handle Thalas as well, that is if Chainmail isn't already got a handle on it, but since Combat is fresh handling them both will be easy.
:)

Wilaml Fmelvam |

Lol! Nice azlain!
And looks Elorin ain't dying today! Too bad that little punk didn't stick around I was going to introduce him to my friend mister pointy stabalotathings....
