Sister Maeve wrote:No I like the way you have broken down the modifier like that. It explains it well. as my friends would put it, you can charm not inspire.for me Charisma is partially force of personality, but mainly the ability to lead
Maeve does have some force of personality/presence, but is REALLY not good as a leader, she doesn't even want to be one (partially due to her chaotic neutral alignment), thus if there would be three scores of Beauty/Charisma/Leadership Maeve would have a slightly above average Charisma, a great Beauty, and a low Leadership with negative modifier :)
but I guess I overcomplicate things
oh yes indeed, Charm Person especially =)

Thalas Lebarath |

With Int 7, Wis 16, and Cha 14, I'm treating Thalas' scores as having excellent "instincts" for what to do, but not at all good at thinking things through in advance; if he has to he will eventually arrive at the right decision, but it will take him a while. He follows a more strict behavioral protocol than is usual, always polite and manner-ly.

Elorin Silentall |

Hehe got to love charm person.
I think you have started something with character number description Maeve, I like it.
Thalas is a very interesting character, I like his mannerisms.
Elorin with a charisma of 14, wis of 13 and dex of 15, she has more experience than a Elf of her age normally has and though she looks very young her mannerisms and the way she holds herself makes her seem older than she is. She does not enjoy leading but can and has, though she prefers to boost others.

Are Wil's 3 mental stats hes average is most and makes basic decisions while having the a strong enough voice and persuasive enough to make people under stand. I couple this with his youthfulness, as he is probably the youngest in the group, with the fact he has spent more time among humans then elves. So despite being patient in some social situations he's more for action, getting things done and moving forward. Hence why he is usually always busy.

Talon Moonwalker |
Talon's mental stats are:
Intelligence: 14
Wisdom: 14
Charisma: 12
Highly intelligent and perceptive, he knows how to speak to others. He also tends to know when to keep his mouth shut. Wanting to better himself, he doesn't tolerate fools well, and hates spending hours upon hours belabouring the same old points. Much easier to blend into the shadows and do what needs doing.
A risk taker, one who will go far to protect his friends.

Seltyn Sevenleaf |

Elorin's the diplomat. Seltyn whispers advice, as he sees it, but she got the coast on our side all by herself.
It's only fitting that the elf maidens would all be beautiful. We expect it, and they turn heads wherever they go. It's like Firefly. They're all fine in their own way, and any nerd's dream. LOL!

Thank you Seltyn, hehe love me nerd I do.

Okay, sorry that I ask this directly now, but when will players get a roll on knowledge about Maeve's family/House, the Black Citadel, or the Witch Queen then? As far I know all players are finally at the same spot, plus I introduced myself now by both elven and commonly known family names.

Talon Moonwalker |
Basically Chainmail only occasionally forces us to roll the dice. In general I don't feel that it makes sense for Talon for example to have made those rolls yet, hence having not made them. I am sure once we sit down and the proper interrogation begins, then we will make those rolls, but as of right now we haven't. I wouldn't worry about it. We haven't forgotten

Talon Moonwalker |
Fair enough. I haven't ignored the roll, but want to have a sit down chat IC before making those kind of rolls. Beyond things like what a creature is, Talon doesn't have a massive amount of experience, and thus might need to sit down a while and ask some questions before he remembers stuff.

Chainmail |

Maeve may explain as much she likes but let us say a Knowledge Local or History at DC10 reveals the rumored existence of a Dark Citadel. A knowledge DC15 in history or local will confirm this rumor and provide the appropriate details about the Witch Queen and Maeve's house.

Sister Maeve |

(Black Citadel, not Dark)
may I add another DC for Thalas alone?
Knowledge (Nobility/History) 12
So he recalls the Eyllisundinaea noble family, which from his original time of living may have given a Queen to the elven King, was a major power player among elven nobility/royalty, and all family members have white hair.
For Thalas this may be a more recent memory/actuality than history.

Elorin Silentall |

I prefer to learn things IC, though as with rumors and history this way may be a more streamline way of doing it. As i may have told people i'm a role player not a roll player. but rolls may be able to speed things up and as the knowledge has been offered as a DC challenge who am I not to attempt it. lol.
Knowledge geography: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Knowledge History: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Knowledge local: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
yay geography ftw.I shall make appropriate IC inquires when it makes sense to. probably not in front of all the humans.

Azlain |

I'm going to go ahead and assume I know absolutely nothing about local history or heraldry of any kind, unless Chainmail specifically tells me that I might know something (in which case, holy cow)
Also, you guys are ridiculous. I disappear for almost exactly 24 hours and come back to 60 unread Gameplay posts. Sheesh.

Elorin Silentall |

lol 50 a day. erm well I can do 1 or 2 a day for definite most days. some days more some less. but 50 is a lot. Talon is right we do tend to have a lot of posts every now and then and other weeks we have a few. though i do remember the night (day for American players, it was at night for me) of around 60 posts lol. that was fun but rare.

Wilaml Fmelvam |

Okay how is Wil behaving unusually? He's tired from healing children, being asked the same question again and again. Granted I messed up on not introducing himself, but he's been nothing but polite to the strange human? Sorry not really understanding how he's being unusual.
Also keep in mind we have like 12 people in the shrine so Wil left because I didn't think the shrine was that roomy. Lol
Also if its because he allowed spider and others to hide themselves, then I can understand the mis com there for him being a paladin and all. But remember its not just the law he follows, he's also supposed to protect his allies. If they are being followed by someone who is sketch will isn't going to leave them in the open to be attacked possibly. Just FYI.
I ask only because I need the constructive critique and don't see where I am failing in my posts. Thanks. :)

Sister Maeve |

thanks, ingame I didn't ask about them but it would be nice if anyone would explain Maeve what stuff is about
also, GM: will we wake up in the morning, or is there a timejump?
I ask because the morning prayer ceremony, Maeve didn't do that yet in the presence of the others, plus I had no time for sight-seeing either :3

Chainmail |

Well, assuming you declined Lefty's offer, you will probably stay in the sanctuary or the inn with the rest of the party.
We can assume it is morning. I will fast forward two days if you want to have the CLW wand ready at the Magic Shoppe.
I assume Wil collected the 100pp. I am not clear if the items were returned for a reward.

Suny |

Suny is happy to share and snuggle with EVERYBODY! (^_^)
As if doing such were not that obvious. :P
Um...I am also not sure whether returning things was the group's preferred choice. Though I am not fussed. I think the bow was special/important?

Chainmail |

Well, Spider had two magic elven bows made by a famous elven bowyer to trade for the set of thief items he obviously took from his raid on the city. One was a composite bow requiring 16ST for +3 damage. But his offer was declined.
Lefty asked Maeve to spend a night with him on the bad side of town with a bad boy.
The party has access to a suite of rooms at a merchant inn with a huge common room given to them when they arrived. At times they have slept in the large sanctuary underground before the entire upper level was created. Now with the redesign, there is plenty of room for privacy.
The elves met Wil on road from Seaview to here, so they can go back to their human allies (and the human king is sweet on Elorin--he is the one that gave her the bow that is sentient--an elven artifact nicknamed Oneshot by the goblin foes it decimated years ago). His son is being raised by the elves now. Elorin is also a high priest of sorts in the new religion that worships the Elven queen Lady Ciedrel.

Sister Maeve |

How bad did he look like?
Erm, I mean: Did he have a sad and tired look on his face? Priestesses of the Witch Queen do now and then share worldly pleasures with those in despair/slump/poverty to cheer them up (not required of them, some do it more often -especially Chaotic Good ones- while others find even the idea terrible), plus Maeve is often whimsical so it may be an option
EDIT: Suny, how about you and Maeve, and Lefty, and Spider have a party?

Sister Maeve |

Looked a bit over both ingame and ooc comments again to stop missing out on stuff, noticed some people didn't even roll yet on what they know of Maeve's family/origin/religion, and I thought there was more than enough time for everything since then due to my absence +slow ingame time advancement.
Elorin sorry that I didn't notice your earlier post towards Maeve, I was already worried that I was offline too long and wanted to rejoin as quick as possible, so I rushed with reading the comments before I posted.

Sister Maeve |

*Tilts head* Um...she's a Half-elf? :)
She's pale?
She falls from the sky occasionally?
heh, I guess in Suny's case it is justified that there aren't even rolls made...
... wait a sec, Suny actually realized she isn't a full-elf? o.O
Great, I thought everyone thinks of her as a full one ever since the first reaction of Thalas, or does Suny have better eyes then the others? ^_^

Thalas Lebarath |

I don't mean to step on anyone's toes, but while I have no problem with mature themes I [strongly] prefer to avoid adult content. However much it may be in character, I suggest alternate - and more appropriate - venues for that kind of exploration.
Thank you.

Sister Maeve |

we do avoid it, and I guess better than those tricking the game rating organizations, after all: no mention of anything clear or obvious was done ^_^
You didn't see me write in details about anything, plus "adult" content is relative to begin with, as example describing a bloody battlefield can just as much be mature content, not to mention not everyone (as example, me) is from the US and thus I don't care about what views per US law has about some themes.
I understand your worry though and take note of it, the earlier event was in accordance/cooperation with Suny and the GM done, if there would have been an objection I am sure it wouldn't have been done the way it was, plus basically everything was a "fade to black scene" anyway :)
I guess I just have to consider Thalas off the list to have this kind of fun with.
