Each person needs to have a connection to a dragonmark house somehow. It could be an aberrant mark, exorited, or just apart of the house and away for now.
You may take up to two drawbacks for two extra traits.
Just as you may take up to one flaw to gain an extra feat.
I hope that everyone can post at least once per day...

Some homebrewed Flaws some might not be acceptable. Be sure to have them make sense.
Original game
Aberrant Dragonmarked - You manifested a dragonmark, though not associated with or a recognized member of one of the dragonmarked families. Typically hunted for it if ever uncovered. Randomly one of the abilities that follows you gain and usable once per day: burning hands, cause fear, charm person, chill touch, detect secret doors, feather fall, inflict light wounds, jump, light, pass without trace, produce flame, shield, tenser's floating disc.
Dragonmarked - you are dragonmarked and come from one of the houses. Come up with a reason you were ousted from your House.
Favored in House - House Member (Magic, Race, Social)
Whether or not you are an active member you can trace your heritage to one of the dragonmarked houses, and its blood flows particularly strong in your veins.
Prerequisites: Member of a dragonmarked race.
Benefit: You may call on favors in your house. In addition you gain a +2 bonus on Use Magic Device checks made to emulate knowledge of a spell granted by your chosen dragonmark.
Background: You are on a mission for your house. You are secretly dishonored to gain reputation to help you learn what has gone on, to see if the underground society knows of the mourning.
Extra: You may sacrifice a feat to gain a dragonmark as well.
Veteran of the Last War (Social)
You have been hardened by the horrors of the Last War.
Benefit: You gain a +1 trait bonus on Intimidate checks and saving throws against fear.
Background hook: you have been hired to learn more about the Mourning, your employers know you know much about Cyre and think you may be a good source to find out more.
Starting in Sharn the city of towers. Some locations for your future are Droaam and the Mournland, though many other locals as well.
Work on developing your background at the moment of how you can fit into this campaign.
Cil, Tanira, and Saronis, are looking for companions that they have had in the past for you will all be congregating for the celebration of the coming new year and congratulations for Cil who just landed a great new position.
He was born with a strange tattooed pattern over his entire body. It had space for each dragonmark house symbol to be filled into each spot. As a prince of Areneal he was a perfect emissary to the Twelve. Most recently he was a mercenary captain for. He feels guilty about the loss of Rhobannon's arm, he feels it is his fault since he was in charge of the regiment that Rhobannon was apart of in the war fighting for Cyre and house of Cannith. Over the past 300 years he has served the Tweleve and each house individually for 25 years. At the beginning of each service he had the tattoo of the house printed on the appropriate spot on his body.
I am looking for one person to play an Exorite, one who has been exiled from one of the dragonmark houses.
I will post later the selections of 'Building an Eberron Character'.

Here's a possibility for a character that may fit in your campaign. Let me know what you think of the background if you have a minute. Crunch will likely be Monk 1 - Inquisitor X, or Inquisitor X.
I'm still not sure whether I'll go with an Inquisitor of the Sovereign Host, or of The Traveler. I'd love your input on that.
Born some fifty-five years ago of Rekkenmark parents of House Deneith based in Sharn, Falko was raised under the mixed regimen of Karrnathi’s strict traditions, Deneith's neutral values and principles, Breland's good-natured openness and free spirit, Sharn's exotic sights and adventures, and Brelanders' war suspicions and xenophobia.
Torn under these multiple binds, Berthold's personality oscillated wildly during his youth, until he finally found, in his late teens, a sense of purpose. He served House Deneith with the focus of youth, never thinking of questioning orders. He made a name for himself during the Last War, serving proudly under his father's tutelage.
Years passed, his father passed, he married and had children, and yet this dreadful slow war kept going.
As the Last War reached its final climax and Cyre laid devastated under unearthly mists, Falko found himself on the verge of despair. The House provided for him, but it had only proved that it could only watch as the world torn itself apart. He traveled to Thronehold in the aftermath of the Day of Mourning, serving as a Sentinel in close protection of Brelish diplomats. To him, House Deneith was still choked by old Karrnathi traditions, and he feared for the peace process. The Five Nations could not live through another century of slaughter. Now old, cynical, and having nothing to lose, he decided to get involved.
He moved subtly in the Den of Intrigue that was Thronehold, meeting with secret emissaries of the different nascent and old nations of Khorvaire, brokering information in the hope that it would lead to peace. During these processes, as he moved from secret chaotic meetings in dark alleys to official ones in sumptuous halls, as he saw the informal shape the formal, he felt at ease, though he knew he was not true to his House’s edicts. He pushed and pushed the peace process, helping the recognition of Talenta and Mror, but he didn't cover his tracks well enough...
He woke one morning with his door brought down by enforcers. He was charged with Treason, and jailed until the signing of the Treaty. He returned to Sharn after so many years away, only to find that his family didn’t need him anymore, nor wished a traitor to stick around. As he stepped outside his house, never to return, he could hear a distant crow laughing...

Not anywhere near complete, but I hope it gets the essentials across. Her name is Shalyna Alathreil. I'm planning on going Magus.
-Paternal Grandfather is a Rakshasa
-Dad is a half-fiend
-Mother is a evil seductress/sorceress.
-Parents tried (and failed, miserably) to train her to be a seductress/assassin.
-She finally escaped when she was about 19.
-Accidentally walked in on the New Year's/Job Promotion party.
Shalyna tends to be shy, almost painfully so at times, and doesn't do well in "large" crowds. She's also kind and finds it easy to empathize with others. Despite the shyness, show her a cute, small, fluffy animal and she turns into a hyper-active Genki Girl.
The shyness is a result of a lack of self-confidence. She has a fear that she isn't good enough and that people will leave if she somehow proves that to them, so she is always apologizing when she makes a mistake.
-She normally talks in a deadpan voice
-Most of her explanations are accompanied with illustrations done on the spot.
-She uses her drawing pens and pencils as hairpins
-She always wears turtle necks that are about two sizes too big.
I play one drawing her at some point.
-Gold eyes
-Black hair that turns crimson at the tips
-Wears black clothes with accents in red and gray
-Has fangs
-has long pointed ears covered in crimson fur with black tiger markings.
-Wears trenchcoat and calf-high boots.

Dreaming Warforged |

Yes Dreaming Warforge, Falko is definitely an Eberron character. I like the background and it seems to leave many possibilities for what your future could hold.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll try to have the crunch by tomorrow. Let me know if you have strong feelings about the Host vs The Traveler's worship.

Dreaming Warforged, there is a page of flaws, in the sources, on my first post in this thread.
Adam, what are some things that she has done that makes Shalyna a 3rd level magus? Also please sub label your abilities with Race, class, and anything else. Also tell me about the personality of your black blade, was it given to you by your family?
Where are all my original players? I would like to see input on character development and such... you know here and in the discussion thread.
I hope to start this campaign Thursday, though if it does not get off by then we will shoot for Monday.

AdamWarnock |

Adam, what are some things that she has done that makes Shalyna a 3rd level magus? Also please sub label your abilities with Race, class, and anything else. Also tell me about the personality of your black blade, was it given to you by your family?
I'll have the stat block sorted out tomorrow night. As for your questions:
-Shalyna was trained to her current level by her father. Although, surviving "lessons" with a succubus and an incubus would probably also give her a fair amount of experience.-Thunderous Howl, or Howl for short, is a goofball who likes to ham things up. He has a habit of building up to what is promising to be an epic sounding story, only to reveal that it's all lies and the truth is actually much simply/more mundane.
-Thunderous Howl was found in the bathroom of the last hotel room she stayed in. Why there? It made for a funny story in my head, and gives Howl something to tease Shalyna mercilessly about.
Father was smarter than his mother. For one, he never plotted his father's demise. For another, he picked a wife that was just as happy to be a lieutenant to Grandfather. They only had me, but I guess the way I turned out was embarrassing enough for them.
I'm a tiefling, but I don't feel most of the things my cousins feel. I've never wanted to destroy someone's life or family. I don't engage in excess or many vices at all. I actually wanted to help people, and felt bad when I couldn't.
You see, Mother and Father wanted me to become a seductress and an assassin for them and my grandfather. I don't have my mother's skill in magic or seduction. She thought I was shy, and locked me in a room with a succubus for a day to learn how to do it right. The succubus gave up after an hour. Said I was hopeless. Then she tried to "loosen me up" by doing the same thing with an incubus. The incubus is now a eunuch.
She only stopped trying because I wound up with a Dragonmark. You know the kind that the houses hunt you down for. They may not like me, but I was too valuable to them as a potential tool for them to risk someone seeing it.
My Father wasn't much better. He trained me in the arts arcane and swordplay, hoping that my promise in both would be something he could hone into a tool. Unfortunately for him, I don't have the skills in sneaking around to be any good as an assassin, especially when I can't lure in victims.
He tried to beat the skills and mindset he wanted, and in a way he succeeded. I'm pretty good with magic and a sword, but I don't want to kill people. I just want to be a good person and live a good life. My parents wanted me to be their tool, so I ran. I ran all the way to Sharn, and here I am, in a big city, with no idea what I'm doing.
I'm doomed, aren't I?
That was a worry for another time. Now it was time for a hot shower while she could enjoy it. The bathroom floor was cold as ice, but the steam from the hot water was warming it up and she was more than happy to not feel chilly as she began to undress.
Y'know, I was honestly expecting something more lacy.
"YEEEEK!"
---
I said I was sorry, but you took off your pajamas before I could say anything!
"Okay, okay. Apology accepted, but what are you? Where's your owner?" Shalyna's face was still flushed from embarrassment. There were exactly three living people that had seen her with less than a shirt and a pair of pants on and one of those had become a eunuch seconds afterward.
Still, having your underwear criticized by a sword you found in your bathroom was not something that anyone could be prepared for.
I am the Thunderous Howl, and I have no owner.
"Okay, who is your partner then."
Well, the sword gave the impression of being smug and coy at the same time. Quite the feat for something that doesn't have a face, or joints for that matter, I suppose I could regal you with tales of derring do, heroism, dastardly villains, and comedic sidekicks. I could say that I've traveled the lands with heroes of all kinds, but that would make me a liar. The truth is, I'm meant to be wielded by one person. Her name is Shalyna Alathreil, and she is rather cute.
"You think I'm cute?"
Especially the way you squeak when someone gets a peek.
"Fate hates me, I know it does!"

Shalyna Alathreil |

Okay, she has gear and stuff now. I've also put everything into her alias. Her Ability break down is below.

Still counts as being Flat-footed though, and this does not apply if you lose your DEX bonus to AC.
Artisan: Painting +2 to Craft(Painting)
Aberrant Dragonmarked: Cause Fear (1/day)You manifested a dragonmark, though not associated with or a recognized member of one of the dragonmarked families. Typically hunted for it if ever uncovered. Excellent Adam/Shalyna Alathreil, nice and organized, Thanks!
Sorry to see you go Roidrage, good luck on your other games!

Falko d'Deneith, Male Human Monk (Monk of the lotus) 1 / Inquisitor of the Sovereign Host (2)

To all other applicants if you finish your character sheets and what I have asked I will message you if there is another opening in this campaign.

Dang, totally missed this one, but it just popped up in recruiting. Well, if you wind up looking for another player, I've got an NPC from an Eberron campaign I ran a while back who would be pretty fun to play.
The basic gist is a warforged monk who was some how forged with a blemish in the shape of an aberrant dragonmark, and who searches for deeper meaning to it by trying to integrate into human society and learn more about dragonmarks and religion. I won't bother with longer stuff because it looks like the game's already starting, but if spots open up I'd be interested.
