For the first hour of hiking through the jungle the group keeps quiet helping out each other to remain as stealthy as you can. You even spot a group of red eyed baboons that don't notice you on the way.

The next hour the group almost literally stumbles into a den of somekind. A fungus like creature with tentacles comes bursting out.

Round 1

Surprise round if you hit the Perception DC 15

Surprise Round

"Whoa!!" Cil cries as she spies the strange creature just before it springs upon the unsuspecting travellers.

She springs forward, her rapier flashing in the jungle light....

Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5 if Flat footed, sneak damage: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 6) = 9

Regular Init: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

Falko senses the threat before he sees it, and moves forth almost by instinct, striking the fungus to disrupt its life flow.

SwA: Snake Style Stance, StA charge for Touch of serenity, Will DC 13, the target cannot cast spells or attack (including attacks of opportunity and attacks as immediate actions) for 1 round.

Rhobannon pulls out a piece of rabbit fur and wipes down his blade, causing it to take on a green sheen.

weapon augmentation, personal. Adding Impervious and Bane to my sword. What knowledge will tell me what this creature is?


Most knowledge checks, DC 10 would tell you that this creature appears to be either a plant or abberation.

K Nature, DC 15:
This appears to be a mass of vines formed together to make up a symbiotic relationship for finding food for the vines. Throwing it a ration of meat should have it leave you alone. Bane versus plants would do extra damage against it. It appears to be a mutated assassin vine of some sort.

With The group's keen eyes and ears they catch the mass of vines forming some sort of body unaware. Falko's touch makes the vines nearly go limp as Cil stabs into the mass while Saronis swipes with his sword to sever nearly a third of the vines as green sap covers the ground.

With his two handed curved Elven court blade in hand as they have been hiking Saronis likely runs into the thing first and swings with all his might.

Seeing the creature stop he looks at the others for a moment then is ready to strike it again if it Attacks.

Falko slides to the opposite side of Saronis, hoping in time to flank the monstrosity, then opens with a quick meaty punches to its core.

Falko slides further away from Saronis and keeps at the plant, kicking and striking with heavy punches.

The mass of vines seems to quake from your attacks, then you see it was merely winding up to swing at you. Many of the vines now damaged beyond use most of the whipping vines have no effect on any of you.
