As soon as I read it, I remembered. Sorry about that!
Also, I made a mistake in Roos's damage. He takes an additional 2d6 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8 of damage.
REF 1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
REF 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Ignatious pounds the barbarian with spells designed to knock him out. Still the man stands.
When Roakar comes at him, there's little he can do. Skelg the ripper drops to the arena floor, most of his injuries are minor.
Man, when this came out this fight was brutal, even for level 12s. Times have changed!
Kol Voss immediately shouts the challenge again. Adril shouts his refusal, and the crowd that so recently supported the new King Adril immediately turns violent and begins shouting in Azlanti for the death of "the Beast." Even the princess, chained to the floor beside him, shouts that he’s a coward.
All hell then breaks loose. The crowd begins to climb into his luxury box, he quickly unchains the princess and flees, shouting defiance over his shoulder, "Not today you sanctimonious bastards!"
His flight from the challenge further incites a riot. The crowd manages to destroy the device powering the Pactmaster force field freeing you from the arena! Adril has quite a lead on you. The Ripper lies unconscious at your feet... Kol Voss starts shouting and takes off after Adril.
What do you do Pathfinders?

Dungeon Master S |

@Roos, yes.
Roakar heals and then chases, Roos is ready to chase. Darius, Osric, and Ignatious to weigh in.

Dungeon Master S |

It's hard to tell how far off he is, as you've lost sight of him. He ducked out through a vomitorium. Voss seems to know where to go though, he's just waiting on you guys.
Osric and Ignatious left.

![]() |

I'm going to rush to Skelg and cast Magic Circle vs Evil, targeting him.
"Go, I'll catch up shortly. And thank you."
Next round, pick him up, dropping his axe (and any other weapons I find easily accessible), bind him with my Silk Rope, and grabbing one end, start flying after the party.
I realize that's a few rounds worth of actions, I just wanted to post a little in advance in case I can't later.

Dungeon Master S |

We're not in initiative, and I don't mind giving some leeway with both fluff and crunch actions.
Ignatious takes care of the man (who is also manacled by way of Roakar.) With that the party dashes after Adril. Botting: Osric releases the other captives who immediately join you on the hunt for the Beast, Adril.
The group of you chase after him through the maze of hallways beneath
the arena’s stands, you soon hear a huge, booming roar. Once you reach the outside, you see a sight you've never laid eyes on. It's some kind of ship... It looks like a a large sailing vessel similar to those on Golarion, but with leathery wings and a massive balloon. It's sailing quickly up away from a nearby skydock trailing a cloud of thick black smoke. Dozens of citizens of Arl lay dead across the skydock and several other airships are burning. One ship, however, seems intact. Here Kol Voss awaits. He shouts, " everyone board the ship immediately!" His man act instantly. To you, in case you need convincing he adds, “The Beast has my sister! If you are cowards, you can stay. I am not. I shall fight him in the clouds if I have to!” and with that he races across the skydock, a handful of his men following him.

Roos is also not singing now until battle commences again.

![]() |

I'll also make sure to do take a little more in depth look at Skelg, (not wanting him to pull an Adril in part 1 :P), just to make sure that his wounds will not kill him as we move.
Heal: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30
Also, if everyone wants, I can Channel to heal us, (excluding Skelg), and save charges.

Dungeon Master S |

THIS time, you're certain he'll survive.

![]() |

No need for healing from me. I go through HP so much that I have 5 wands of CLW.
Roakar hops on board the airship.
"Wait....these things fly?" Roakar asks with extreme suspicion.

Dungeon Master S |

Voss misses the humor and simply nods.
Kol Voss and his people obviously know how to steer the ship as they move to various positions, they simply brush past you to get into position. Kol himself and all but two of his men head down to the engine room. He shouts back "We've got to get the power up and running!" The two remaining men prepare to navigate. Within the minute your ship takes to the sky. It's immediately obvious that the rogue venture-captain’s vessel took some damage in its escape as it moves a bit slower than your ship and leads a trail of black smoke that seems to pour from several cracks near the airship’s rear stabilizing wing.
Adril’s strategy seems to be to pilot his ship higher and higher. As you ascend, the air grows thinner and much colder, Anyone not affected by Endure Elements needs a Fort DC 15. Kol’s men manage to push the vessel just a bit higher than Adril’s airship, the navigator turns to say "Be ready to jump!" (in Azlanti). As he turns back to look ahea-
BOOM!!!!!!
Your airship leans hard to starboard and begins to rapidly descend. The men scream in alarm, shouting in Azlanti, "someone has sabotaged the engines! Get down there! Quickly!"

![]() |

"What the hell was that and why are we not FLYING!?!"
Once someone relates the issue to Roakar in common he heads down to the engine room with everyone else, muttering "Stupid flying boat can't keep it's stupid self in the air. Never should have trusted this stupid contraption. Should have just chased Adril on foot. Now we gotta fix the stupid boat. How do you fix a flying boat?" The muttering goes on as he makes his way to the engine room.

![]() |

"I'm skilled at the helm, if need be. Or, I could always leave Skelg here secured, and fly ahead to run interference of that other vessel. Can't take the sky from me. . ."

![]() |

nice reference Iggy
Roos, unaccustomed to flying, grabs onto some rigging just holding on for dear life trying to make sure his lunch does not come back up...
"When will this flying boat land?" he asks no one in particular...

Dungeon Master S |

Nicely done brown coat.
The ship ahead is only 50' in front of you when the explosion hits, but in seconds it starts pulling away by hundreds of feet (and it's travelling well over 200' as a double move.) While talking, the men shout, "check on Voss!"
As Ignatious checks on Skelg, a woman's scream splits the sky...
An ulfen woman of beauty and power drops an invisibility spell as she emerges from below decks. "IGNATIOUS! How? How are you here?!" She sees The Ripper unconscious at his feet. "We were FRIENDS IGNATIOUS! How could you?!"
Her eyes glow with a cold blue light. From behind her a platoon of dead frost giant warriors takes the deck with preternatural speed.

23 for Darius, 21 for everyone else. I just wasn't sure if I made a 19 or a 21 on that save. So -20 for Lightning Bolt and - 21 from Cone of Cold.
