oh ouch. Well, good job guys xD

Dungeon Master S |

Before the evil cleric can explain his plan or even give a challenge, the Pathfinder team lays him low. Perhaps the Society will send in a spellcaster to interrogate the corpse.
Before him is a stone of obviously evil magic. In this room, there is no sign of Wuthers.

Jal crouches over the dead follower of Zyphus. "Well, Fel," he mutters as he rifles through the man's clothes and gear, "sorry to cut your party short, but taking out a crazy cult leader of a God of destruction while saving a bunch of uppity rich folk is bound to be good for my rep. Maybe I can start charging for my autograph."
Perception, the body: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
There are two stairwells in the first room of this level on the map. Does that take us further down? Or back up where we came from?

Dungeon Master S |

The stairs take you back up to the theater. There are a lot of side rooms you haven't checked. With the threat eliminated, you can take 20 searching. You'll only get a small amount of belly-aching from the Magistrate.

Then I suggest that's what we do. The letter we found references what happened to the Pathfinder we were sent here to look after. So we stemmed some kind of Evil God Event. At this point (unless there's some piece of the adventure we're missing), I think we just need to find and gather as much information as we can about what actually happened here.
EDIT: and obviously I'm motivated to make sure we're wrapped in the next day or so in order to have all Chronicles applied by the 19th.

The threat eliminated, Dioneo isn't interested any more in the mission. He'll engage in petty talks with the magistrate until the others have found anything worth his time.

Dungeon Master S |

Eventually you DO find the poor Pathfinder. His death was mundane. He was one of the first zombies slain in the initial attack.
As you look about the theater, it seems that a little more than half of the nobles survived, thanks mostly to your bravery, and their cowardliness.
The artifact is WELL beyond your means to destroy, and indeed when you report back to VC Eliza she sends a team who specialize in just such a find.
Meanwhile the nobles who did survive quickly turn it into a conversation piece for their soirees and dinner parties, stories in which they are the heroes, not the Pathfinders.
Within Skyreach, however, your fame grows. For such a young group of agents to stop so dastardly a plan shows great potential. Well done Pathfinders.
Chronicles will be out tonight, though it might be late by the time I get to them. GREAT job, lots of fun, and I don't think the enjoyment suffered from the speed at all.

Jal could not be happier to wrap up the incident at the opera house, though that evening he wastes no time parleying his sudden fame with the nobles who were at the incident into a three-day gambling binge with all the traumatized rich-folk ... where he makes out like a bandit. (Pun fully intended; and this is basically just fun fluff for his excellent Gambling day job roll.)
Coin purse suddenly much heavier—in addition to the spoils he expects to receive through the Society—Jal returns to Skyreach in surprisingly good spirits.
Fun game, everyone. And once again, tons of thanks to you, DM S. I think the speed worked in our favor on this one. :)
Looking forward to the chronicle sheet.

Chusynd chats amiably with the noble, trying to convince them to return to Aroden's fold.
Great time. Thanks for running, S.
And now I wanna team up to make a pair of Slayers with someone. X-D

Dungeon Master S |

I have a slayer ready to go, but I'm saving him for a certain someone to start Dragon's Demand in early 2016

Dungeon Master S |

Session is reported. I'll get you the chronicles ASAP. The secondary mission is the same as the primary so it's 2 Prestige. Gold is 1.036 for spending purposes if you need to get a move on now.

Thanks DM! I had a great time.

Thanks for the game, Chris! It was fun! The tag-team slayers were definitely effective -- didn't hurt that we had more healing than most groups ever would. Thanks All!

Dungeon Master S |

Keep an eye out. If it turns out I'm NOT at my bandwidth for PbP during the game day, I'll be posting in the Flaxseed lodge to recruit for games.

Thanks, Chris! Was great to get to play with you... now I need to see what your games are like when you're not doing a speed run! (I am sure they are great)

Dungeon Master S |

Ha! Thank you. I'm always quick to post, but yes, I do smell the roses along the way.
Also, if anyone ever makes the convention circuit I'm at a few, but with the exception of Gen Con, they're all in New England.

If you're running anything these next weeks, I'm up for it, Chris. I'd love to see what your games look like in a normal run.

Dungeon Master S |

Will do! I'm currently booked up for Gameday, but I'll post new games as my others wrap up.
I do have TWO slots left for Eyes of the Ten. If anyone is interested, PM me. I'll be deactivating this thread soon.
