Dalviss Crenn, ex-adventurer and proprietor of the Mineshaft Inn of Dustpawn (in eastern Isger, near the Drumish border) has sent an invitation to each of you, asking for aid. A meteor recently crashed somewhere in the hills, several miles to the south of Dustpawn, but Dalviss believes it to be a ship from the far reaches of space. The townsfolk scoff at his theory, and to save himself further ridicule, and get to the truth of the matter, Dalviss has turned to you to find the crash site.

Hey guys -

So I think I have to take a little break from things for a bit; hopefully I won't be gone too long.

Ayreth; I'm still eager to RP with you and Paul for the night, but I'm not sure when that will be.

However, given that the GM is going to be out for the evening in any case, I'm hoping that a small delay is not going to be a problem for you (or anyone else). Still, if you'd like to get the ball rolling on the Social RP thread, when I'm able to I'll have a response to you.

Please remember that the GMs have asked us to keep as much 'ooc' stuff over here as is reasonable, as opposed to the gameplay thread.

I may throw a little something on the alt thread, though I don't want to steer too hard and derail what you are trying to do.


Sorry for my lack of posting today (hurt my neck and back and couldn't sit at my desk for any length of time).

Paul, if you can't get your post up by tomorrow, don't worry, you may retcon it on the alt thread. This includes anything you may have undertaken with Ayreth. Again, if the evening tasks were numerous, please just jot them down in point form and we can go through them that way -- saves time for all. Thanks. :) (And yes, any discussion points can be posted here. Let's keep the alt thread just for in-game stuff (secondary rp and side quests).)

To all: In the future, would you rather the GMs roll your saves for you to expedite the process or would you be happier rolling your own when we ask? I have heard that people like to make their own save rolls and that's fine. We just want to make the process better for everyone. Thanks. :)

Yes, Ayreth has dotted the thread. I asked people to delete the dot entry after they had posted it so as to not clutter the game play with dots. ;)

Also, we understand players will go at different paces in games. We do not mind the occasional side quest to gain information to aid the group (if it fits into the overall story). However, it is not going to be a regular on-going exercise because the main story needs to run and be played out and it makes little sense to have little groups here and there working on separate projects for the majority of the time. (Plus, it's even more work for the GMs to run the main thread as well as secondary quests.) I don't want the group left idle while a few people undertake tasks.

You are an adventuring party and need to find a way to work TOGETHER as you have a number of mysteries in play in Dustpawn.

Use rp to discuss things. You also have access to the discussion board to toss up ideas and plans and see how the whole group feels about them. We/the GMs would rather you didn't split the party and to work on the mysteries together. If any one of you do not like the direction tasks/activities are taking, then please speak up (in and out of game). We want to see everyone enjoy the game and be able to move forward together.

GM - I already did that with the doc (Gii).

Gii knows the entire story; including Paul's concerns and worries for the girl.

Also, his companions know completely that he's worried and concerned, this is why Linndell followed Paul to begin with.

I don't know what else to do at this time that Paul hasn't already done but I'm open to any suggestions.


Gii also mentioned to the group over breakfast that he woke up feeling tired and agitated. It wouldn't be too far fetched that he might not be in the right frame of mind to discern or relay your message. Perhaps have Paul address the whole party at the table ... Just a suggestion.

@Bart:
As a player, how much do you want Bart to be pressed on this? I can see my girl Ayreth going either way: "I'm very curious to know what you are hiding, especially with a lion made of stars" or "Everyone is entitled to their secrets". Do you prefer a slower buildup or are you eager for the scene? Or does it matter? What is cooler for you? Heck, I should probably ask... do you know yet?

I think it'd work out best if Ayreth did whatever she would normally do! I have no plans for any reveals, so having it come out however it will come out would be awesome.


As Yuki has left, the +2 shortsword she had claimed is now in party treasure, so Paul is free to use it and perhaps let someone else use the masterwork daggers if they like.


Okay, it looks like the party back at the inn, around the breakfast table, have decided that checking out Nesher Mine is the way to go. In that vein, is there anything you guys need to purchase? Anything to prep? Paul and Linndell are currently at Sahriah Fastleaf's home ... You could join them there if you'd like ... and there are other stores in town ...

Bart is almost broke thanks to his Mithral chain shirt and Alar's belt! I might be for picking up Paul and Linndell first rather then waiting for them to come back though. What do you guys think?

I don't think Paul indicated where he was going.

Paul did say (via a private word to Gii) that he wanted to make sure the halfing gal wasn't like Leeara and close to turning and perhaps attacking someone in the streets on her way home.

Dalviss is still at the table with you. Paul asked him for directions to the Halfing's house. So, Gii has some knowledge of Paul's intentions and you guys can ask Dalviss if he knows more. ;)
