So if we have access to the book is there anything we shouldn't read?
YuenglingDragon wrote: So if we have access to the book is there anything we shouldn't read? Feel free to read whatever you like. At most, you might see an adventure hook or two I plan to use. It's no big deal.

Well guys, I just got a new job offer a ways away from me, so I'm going to be spending some time over the next few weeks moving and then getting started at the new job. I think at this point I should still be able to keep posting here fairly often even through that, although maybe slightly less frequently than I have been, and maybe with a few more typos from my phone ^__^' If it gets to be too much, I'll be sure to let you know, but I'll be doing my best not to bog things down here.
Female Elf Wizard 2 (Illusionist); Init +1; Low-light vision; Perception +5; AC 11 (+1 Dex); hp 15; Fort +2, Ref +2, Will +3
Hey, good luck with the new job and the moving. ^^
On a different note, I hope nobody minds my mining 'Keth' for info, rather than charging in. It's probably to do with my love for the Ravenloft setting; it's taught me that it is very wise to gather as much intel about strange places as you can before charging in with blades drawn. ;)
M Vanara Gunslinger 1
Thanks! I definitely agree too, I'll probably be making a good number of perception checks for largely the same reason, provided it doesn't completely slow things down too much.
Congratulations on the new job. Have you been unemployed? I got laid off in 2010 and just got back into the workforce last December. Job market blows out there...
M Vanara Gunslinger 1
Yeah, I've been looking since November. Definitely rough out there, but I managed to find a place that sounds really cool, so I'm pretty excited.
Congrats! Hope everything goes well!

M Vanara Gunslinger 1
Haha, thanks. Like I said, It's looking for now like I'll be able to keep up just fine, and at worst I might be out for a day or two. Just trying to give you a heads-up in case that happens. I'll try not to, as much as this is for fun, it's also at least something of a commitment, and I'd hate to have taken it from someone else and then go on to shirk it.
Pint-Sized Cleric 2
Well, we'll see you when you're here, and 1-2 days isn't that bad.
Pint-Sized Cleric 2
I've looked at all our sheets, and it looks like, statwise, Celia's the diplomat.
Taking diplomacy rank next level, methinks. Then I'll have +7.
Female Elf Wizard 2 (Illusionist); Init +1; Low-light vision; Perception +5; AC 11 (+1 Dex); hp 15; Fort +2, Ref +2, Will +3
Augh, Celia! >_< Never offer services as a first bid, never!
Pint-Sized Cleric 2
What should have been offered?
Because I don't think they need any of our meatbag stuff...
and I have never, never encountered an indifferent npc that offered help out of the kindness of its heart.
Pint-Sized Cleric 2
I'm open to ideas though, to prevent this in the future.
You could send your best robot buddy?
Female Elf Wizard 2 (Illusionist); Init +1; Low-light vision; Perception +5; AC 11 (+1 Dex); hp 15; Fort +2, Ref +2, Will +3
Heh. :D Just don't offer services. If you run up against a baatezu-type critter, you could wind up 'serving' till death and beyond, or having to break a verbal contract and being chased an equal amount of time by vengeful beasties.
Female Elf Wizard 2 (Illusionist); Init +1; Low-light vision; Perception +5; AC 11 (+1 Dex); hp 15; Fort +2, Ref +2, Will +3
Also: Don't send the robot. I don't trust him and he's likely reporting everything we say and do to his mystery boss. >:-\
Pint-Sized Cleric 2
Hm. Both your suggestions are taken into account.
Also, if that Baatezu thing happened, I think it would be fun to play as long as I'm the only one who gets bitten in the butt by it.
I care about group dynamics, though, so I'll be more careful in the future.
Female Elf Wizard 2 (Illusionist); Init +1; Low-light vision; Perception +5; AC 11 (+1 Dex); hp 15; Fort +2, Ref +2, Will +3
You have my sincere appreciation, and my apologies if I was too forceful. ^^;
Pint-Sized Cleric 2
Nah. S'fine.
:D 'N thanks.
Also, this is neither here nor there, but I imagine Celia as speaking with a Fargo-the-Movie like accent.
That's a Wisconsin one? Or Minnesotan? I forget, but it just meshes there.
Valai wrote: Also: Don't send the robot. I don't trust him and he's likely reporting everything we say and do to his mystery boss. >:-\ *robo-whistling*
Yah, Fargo? Fargo is in Narth Dakoooota. Land of snow and sh*t else.
Also, yes, we never ever allow someone controlled by the GM to "help us." He is the enemy...
=)
Well, it only took us a week to reach the first hook. =P
Female Elf Wizard 2 (Illusionist); Init +1; Low-light vision; Perception +5; AC 11 (+1 Dex); hp 15; Fort +2, Ref +2, Will +3
Hey, we're all having fun. Or at least I hope we all are, I just know I am. ^^
An audience member chuckles. "Heh. The 'treat of imminent danger'. Figures that an orc would look at it that way."
I'm sad you don't care for me, Valai. :[

I'm around, just busy at work. Sorry about the perceived absence!

Keth wrote: I'm sad you don't care for me, Valai. :[ If Valai ever finds out that Keth is a true person with real emotions, and not the tool of some insane Iucounu-wannabe who put everyone in danger for a cheap laugh, she will probably feel at least a little ashamed for the way she's been treating Keth.
Of course, if he turns out to only be an automaton and nothing else, she'll sell him for scrap once she's back on Golarion without any hesitation. :p
Having never heard of The Eyes of the Overwold or any Dying Earth material, I felt a chill as I noticed the eerie similarities of this campaign. I'm now absolutely intent on reading the book. Thanks for name dropping Iucounu, Valai!
Female Elf Wizard 2 (Illusionist); Init +1; Low-light vision; Perception +5; AC 11 (+1 Dex); hp 15; Fort +2, Ref +2, Will +3
You are more than welcome! ^^
Jack Vance has been a huge influence on D&D, and thus, Pathfinder. Just for starters, he designed the cast&forget-system of spellcasting that Wizards use.
Female Elf Wizard 2 (Illusionist); Init +1; Low-light vision; Perception +5; AC 11 (+1 Dex); hp 15; Fort +2, Ref +2, Will +3
The one and only, accept no substitutes. ;) Especially not Vecna. :p
EYE wouldn't dare. Got to HAND it to Vance. I do like the system.
Female Elf Wizard 2 (Illusionist); Init +1; Low-light vision; Perception +5; AC 11 (+1 Dex); hp 15; Fort +2, Ref +2, Will +3
An excellent author, too. His more roguish characters are amusing, but I prefer his more noble protagonists. ^^
Pint-Sized Cleric 2
Oh, I SEE what you did there.
Female Elf Wizard 2 (Illusionist); Init +1; Low-light vision; Perception +5; AC 11 (+1 Dex); hp 15; Fort +2, Ref +2, Will +3
So Keth is programmed not to reveal any info about either himself or Iucounu junior, and to actually forget the questions were asked. Duly noted. ... We're going to have to reprogram him if we want any useful info, aren't we? ^^; Can we get a crash course in computer programming during this trip?
M Vanara Gunslinger 1
I like this idea. Once we do that, I might have to paint "Don't Panic" on to him.
Female Elf Wizard 2 (Illusionist); Init +1; Low-light vision; Perception +5; AC 11 (+1 Dex); hp 15; Fort +2, Ref +2, Will +3
I was thinking we might teach him to scream "Exterminate!" at our enemies, too. :p Unless he's a real person, of course.

Who needs to learn programming? Just use one of these:
MINOR ARTIFACT
Screwdriver, Sonic
Aura strong transmutation; CL 20th
Slot none; Weight 1 lb.
DESCRIPTION
This small, metallic rod is covered in buttons and strange symbols, with a rounded blue gem at one end. Activation of the screwdriver emits a faint blue light. When active and pointed at an object, the screwdriver allows for the use of any sort of mechanical or electronic device and can reproduce the effects of Disable Device or Use Magic Device.
The scredriver can activate, disable, reset, or generally manipulate any object capable of being used via Disable Device or Use Magic Device. As a standard action, it can automatically suceed on any attempt to use these skills that is of DC 20 or lower. For every 10 above the DC, the use requires another standard action with the screwdriver pointed at the object.
With the screwdriver it is also possible to reorder the functions of any mechanical, non-organic creatures, such as constructs and robots. Doing so requires one standard action per hit die of the creature.
DESTRUCTION
The sonic screwdriver can be destroyed if thrown into the core of a collapsing star.
