All my post will always be during the work day. I'm eastern standard time. I check in at night if things are going on like a fight and will post to help keep things moving.
I will probably not post on the 24th or 25th. Will be traveling to the wife's parents.
Please excuse the latest mistake that I made. I forgot to preview the post and it apparently didn't go through. Seeing as how I always check under campaign tabs to see updates, I didn't manage to have anything go through. I am aware that two posts came in the day after I had tried to post, but I was waiting for a few more. As Arawn Vasska has pointed out, and as my buddy Monkeygod has told me, I probably need to start manually checking after each post to ensure that it goes through and will begin doing so, as this mistake has happened at least twice so far and I don't want you all to get frustrated and quit the campaign.
So, that being said, the wait has given me time to work on a few little side projects. Johnnycat, you know about one. The other will be mentioned before too long.
Word of warning, though: I recommend messing with the settings so that it clears itself out every once in a while. I've had problems in the past with it causing crashes after storing too much text.
yep durring the work day I can keep up :) I feel Tristan would be a little rude. He has an 8cha so he doesn't know how to act that well in social situations to start and his parents were killed by the bandits recently and if this lord is going to pay them to kill some bandits he wants to get to it.
Excellent. Assuming that everyone else agrees, then I believe this pace can be kept up with 2-4 posts per day! :)
Tristan, I figured that was the case. Don't worry, I know how it is playing a character who is focused on vengeance. I have a character whose for the Hell's Rebels campaign who goes by the alias 'The Nightraven' who is hell-bent on making the corrupt government pay for taking his beloved Mira away from him. He's a very bitter, although driven, character who has little left in the way of social graces. Currently, the character is something of a boogeyman to the villain's goons, seeing as how there have been several 'impossible' assassinations that have occurred, each time the target's have the same MO: a single stab wound to the heart from behind, a single black raven's feather in their hand, and the wall inscribed with the bloody word "NEVERMORE". He is viewed suspiciously by most the other players, particularly by the bard of Sarenrae, who often argues with him over his methods (The cleric of Nethys often has to mediate disputes between them IC... we enjoy the RP though!). The murderhobo of a barbarian rather likes him though, saying once in-game that, "I hate Chelaxian fops, but Jarreth ain't one of them anymore. He keeps our enemies scared and keeps the body count high, so that's 'nuff for me, little Elf. Isn't that what matters in a revolution anyway?"
I will wait until around 9:00 EST tonight before I proceed with my next post, assuming that not everyone has posted by then. I'd say that 13 hours is a reasonable wait in between posts to let people catch up, yes?
Oh there should be ample opportunity for revenge! You WILL, however, hate the bandits even more as book one continues... trust me on this. These are people that even the worst 'spare all evildoers' types would be hard-pressed to NOT want wipe off the face of the earth.
Heyden, you post around night/early morning EST, right?
Tristan, you haven't seen how bad they are in my game... they are much worse, as you will find out. These are people that even Shelynites and Sarenites would go out of their way to cut down.
Arawn, I think we're all mature enough to deal with it IC. In my time on the messageboards, I have found that most people can handle IC stuff without it spilling over.
For the record, during the week, I can only post in the evenings, pretty much. I don't mind two posts a day being up, but do expect me to have to respond to one of them in flashback if it's posted mid-day.
Tristan reveals a bit about himself. Though not impressed by the culture of the Lords of the land, his father did want more for him and he was training under a Sword Lord to become one himself.
I couldn't elegantly work in how Castor first got involved.
In short, he approached one of the Lord Mayor's recruiters, but merely to offer a blessing of luck to the trip. They all but twisted his arm to convince him to join instead, seeing much potential in getting a priest of travel and luck involved.
For the record, I often work from home on fridays, so I'll be more active then.
I never worked out the specifics of how Arawn got recruited. I just know he heard rumors of the expedition and integrated himself with the social networks of Restov until he got himself enough of a reputation as a diplomat (and duelist) to warrant the invite.
