Solaria withdraws from the robots attempting to surround her,moving just outside this terrible room.


Tetsuda rips into the leg of the southern Rust Risen (C) and tears out decayed flesh and machine parts. The robot wobbles slightly, off balance by the attack.

Thera trips the undead with her kick (it's on the table) and as it falls downward, she makes a swift jab at its face. Her hand punches through the creature's face, covering her hand with dark ichor.

Uran's rifle shot blasts the robot in its core. It bends backward, bones breaking as its torso falls off its still standing legs.

Linpul thanks the others for their healing abilities.

"I've got some more magic to spread around if anybody needs healing? I know Tetsuda took quite a beating... then again, so did I."


"Well, all the gangs gotta listen to the Lords of Rust, or else they'll crush them. But we're all separate gangs. Pretty sure the Steel Hawks and the Raider's are trying to undermine the Lords of Rust but the Smilers were probably okay working with them." Whiskifiss says.

"Not only do we all want these Smilers dealt with for good, but I am worried there may be more trapped souls here. Imagine if we left someone behind... They would die from our negligence."

Solaria looks at the door, she speaks quietly, "Is the door trapped?" she asks, "I can use my sight to look into the room, without entering, remember Desna's powers. I still have powers to heal, are there still some of you that are injured?" she asks. Looking at the door, she asks their new friend, "Do you know what's in there?"

Once someone has checked the door for traps, Solaria will use her door sight ability to look inside......

Solaria, lays her hands on the door, feeling its texture, her hands seem to meld into the door as in her trance-like state, glazed eyes and in a monotone voice, she describes what she sees.

Linpul scrounges through the gear that they found before continuing on, casting a detect magic spell every so often.

"Well, they had a couple of magic sticks? Wands? This one has a skull on it, they also had some kind of magic robe or cloak or something. I can find the magic goods but I am not that good at identifying them, now the tech on the other hand is a different story. Ooh gas grenades! Let's see what these ones do."

Flipping the grenades over and looking over the pin, Linpul examines the grenade and tries to figure out what functions it has.

"I was the only one captured this time, I think. I mean, Marrow probably took other scrappers but I think you saw them already."

Solaria looks through the door and sees:

This chamber combines the comforts of a ccozy bedroom with the horrors of a necromantic laboratory-it’s difficult to tell which pieces of furniture here are meant for relaxation and which ones are intended for torture.

She also a large metal cabinet in the room.

Linpul doesn't know what the grenade does, other than explode.

Sarainy moves aside and Sarainy opens the door.

Opening the cabinet you see several more items, including gear marked with a red tooth.

"Oh, hey, there's my stuff!" Whiskifiss pushes past and starts taking studded leather armor, a small shortsword, a magical crossbow and bolts and equips them.

Dr Lendaro takes a look around - inspecting the building... he addresses the fallen necromancer as he works his way through.
"Sorry Marrow, I'm sure this place brought you many happy times, but your boudoir will need to be gutted entirely."
"Whiskifiss... are you aware of any who'd be willing to do menial labor for gold in this settlement? Our new base of operations will require extensive cleaning."
He looks to the others and shrugs almost imperceptibly... unsure himself of the idea.

Trying to determine if the it is structurally sound - in comparison to other buildings in the area.

The Smiler base, while old and rusted, seems the most solid building you've seen so far. Most of the other things Lendaro and the others have seen are huts or hovels built into the scrap, or using junk.

Whiskifiss shrugs. "Uh, we're in competing gangs here. Of course I'm gonna say you can't trust 'em." The ratfolk grins at Sarainy. "Maybe you're friends with them, I don't know."

"Well, let's head to my base. I'll treat you hospitably, with the best slop we got-barely any bugs and dirt in it."

Whiskifiss begins trudging out of the headquarters and waits for you at the entrance.

"I am glad we have been able to remove this gang from the land. They were a blight on everyone around!"


Following Whiskifiss out of the Smiler base, you head to the warrens of Redtooth's Raiders.

The tunnels were made for smaller creatures. Linpul, Tetsuda and Uran have no trouble moving through the tunnels, but everyone else has to lower their heads and squeeze to get through the short, narrow passageways.

You pass by several ratfolk, large rats, and a strange insect eating metal. Eventually, you enter a more open area. A ratfolk appears with several technological gadgets attached to her side.

"How many was it this time, little brother? Ten or twenty smilers? You're such an idiot sometimes."

"I took out like three of them, Redtooth. Give me some credit."

"Sure you did, kiddo." The new ratfolk gives Whiskifiss a hug. She then turns towards the rest of you. "Well, you're the ones that saved my brother. Sorry for being so straightforward, but what is it you want?"

Looking at the bugs, Linpul grimaces.

"Do you have anything... without beetles in it? I uh, kind of have a friend that I would like to not be a cannibal."


"Well, I'll send some ratfolk down there to clean it up for ya, as part of a thank you for rescuing my silly brother. As for our connection with the Lords of Rust, well, we hate their guts, but they're powerful. Gotta pretend subservience and be good little rats."

"It ain't all beetles. Flies and ants and earthworms and leeches. Ground up real good so you can't feel the texture as it wriggles down your throat. We live in a junkyard, no fancy meat here, lady. Lords of Rust and their minions usually get to any dead animals outside of town first." Whiskifiss adds, a wide smile on his face.

Hearing Linpul's words and not too keen on the idea of eating mud and bugs for the foreseeable future, Sarainy turns to Solaria.

"Are you able to prepare food using your divine powers? My father told me once how his unit survived on cleric made food for months, and how it ultimately put him on the path of devotion."

She pauses, looking over at the Doctor. "Do you intend to set up here then, creating a home base out of the Smiler's digs? I have to admit to not liking the local at all... It's not somewhere I'd like to settle down, at least any longer than we had to..."

Uran looks around Redtooth base and finally sits down. He cleans and tends to his odd-looking rifle while listening to the others.
When he hears Sarainy speak about the Smiler fort, he grimaces.

"While I would not like to call that place anything remotely like home, I reckon we need someplace to holdup a spell and rest. Unless we can talk one of the other gangs to hosting us, this would seem to be our only other choice."

"Unfortunately Sarainy, Desna has not granted me such powers. However I can ask her to make it taste a little more palatable, if I pray in the morning for such a grace." Solaria answers. "Perhaps if Desna feels the love I have for her, and the devotions I make, she will grant such gifts in the future."

Solaria takes a spoon and pokes the foul smelling lumps floating in the grey liquid. Closing her eyes she tries to swallow some, holding back the muscle spasms in her throat. "We are glad to return your brother, in a better state than we found him. Perhaps you can show any plans you have to remove the Lords of Rust from their position in Scrapwell? Anything would help. But first I think we should make our new home habitable, the ex-Smiler HQ will do just fine, once we have made it more to our liking."


"I guess you're all trustworthy. I mean, you did save my brother. Well, I got one idea. Bombs. Gather a bunch of explosives and take out that receiver array-that big metal dish thing outside. The Lords are using it for something, probably to power some kind of superweapon. But I need some more." Redtooth says. "There might be some in the haunted canyon, but none of my people have checked. Not risking them on such a dangerous mission." She smiles.
