Yeah, yeah, yeah. You´re both awesome big guys with pointy swords who can hit things hard. A good job you did there. Now, if you don´t mind, hand me that card please. I want to have a look at it.

Ibuki takes the card and turns it over in his ahnds again and again.

The machine called it Kasatha, not kasanta. It seems to be some alien species. At least i never heard of the like on Golarion.

As he looks around the scenery:
I´m beginning to wonder what this is here. This card talks about divinity staff, just like the machine before. Well, we all know that Toch´s flame probably came from something to do with the starfall. We might very much look at an artifact from that time here. Why of all times things come into motion right now though, that´s to wonder about.

Also, how did those Kasatha become undead?

Yvell takes the card and reads it seeing that the card was a bit more

" This card will allow our group through higher security access areas. Now the question I'd like answered is... Did Khonnir Baine interact with this creature at all? It might be possible to find him without this card... but I assume it will allow the group to find more useful leads. " Yvell turning to Ibuki with less anger but more rebuttal " Do not make light of our efforts Ibuki, they are the reason danger was averted and the fact you live today, you should still remember your wound from before, Now would you please Identify this item for us After which we should try the white door.. or to find more brown doors. "

Calm down Yvell. You´re not the only one with a mixed heritage here. Love is universal, so are lust and unfortunately, pride and prejudice. I´m really thankful for what you did and i appreciate it if you continue to stand between me and things like that.

"It has logic, I must offer, however, that Baine may have found a white card elsewhere? He could be anywhere, lets try the next brown door and if it contains more abominations we'll deal with them."

He looks to the arcanist, "You've excelled thus far magi-san Ibuki, do not doubt your self and please do forgive Yvell. I am starting to see his verbal slights are unintentional. He means well, and is a just champion."

"For Mother Serenrae says; to forgive your fellow man is to reforge a break between the souls - becomoing stronger and harder than it was before." the broad shouldered Serenite says wholeheartedly as he sheathes one of the bronze swords and packing away the rest of the findings to be sorted and sold after Baine was found.

"Shall we move on?"

To Yvell's question, Bran says "Can't really use most weapons. Never really got used to fighting with anything other than my fists and this shield here."

After dealing with the monstrosity, Bran looks around the room a bit. Not really too sure what to make of all of this... "I wonder how skeletons and...a zombie? are showing up down here too, Ibuki. This place isn't exactly teeming with magic or anything. I suppose it's possible that someone else has been down here or maybe something. Maybe all these...people...died do to some sort of evil? A lot of questions, that for sure." Bran shrugs, "Gotta agree with the big guy though, we need to keep moving forward if possible."

Mh good point Bran. The machine talked of a "habitat". You´ve ever seen an invisible wall like that before? Can tell you, it´s not magic! Besides, that cloak here definately is, will provide some protection.

So let´s see what we got here: Ibuki counts on the fingers of his hands.

-Our dear Torch with the purple flame.
-strange caverns underneath with even stranger inhabitants, some clearly alien.
-buildings made of metal and unknown materials.
-an underground desert valley.
-machines that come to life on their own.

He looks around from one face to another.
You think what i think my friends?

Unsure how much we know about Torch and where the flame comes from etc. kn:local? kn:history?

I think Ibuki is trying to connect what's down here to the Torch torch.

Ibuki Knowledge Engineering/Local/History:
You think the torch might come from a large machine underground that shoots up into the sky at Black Hill. Residents of Torch just saw the fire one day and used it. No one really questioned where it came from, or investigated before. Not even Khonnir Baine.

Auehda Linguistics:
You can't decipher what the writings say. There are a few symbols written over the same red-ink pickaxe. The writings might be sayings, prayers, or names, for all you know. The language does not seem to be anything you've seen before. It seems crude as well as alien to any Golarion writing.

Derlin Perception:
You hear a faint humming noise. You cannot tell if it is coming from the next room, or from the walls. There are no other sounds except for your breathing.

If you enter the white door, you see...

A large metal desk with blinking lights and strange glowing panels sits atop a raised area on the east side of this room near a circular table. Two couches covered with black material sit to the south a pair of black metal pillars. Splatters of dried blood stain the floor and walls near a pair of doors to the north, while here and there patches of rust-red mold and fungus cling to the southern wall. The room itself is brightly lit by glowing panels on the ceiling.

Behind the metal desk is a door.

Yvell stretches when Val indicates any pain but seems ready, taking the Shortsword now that it was obvious no others could use it. " I am fine the wound was healed and no one was injured outside of me. "

As the investigation of the craft continued, Yvell grew solemn once again, the frustration seemed to be gone and the quips Derlin shot back did not seem to phase him. However once they reached the interior of the White Door, his mannerisms changed. The blood was a bad sign, " This blood, is old which means the fight had to be recent but old enough that this had time to dry. Baine might be in trouble or bleeding out slowly, we should follow this trail first AFTER we search this room. I'm going to see what all these lights are about " Yvell walked up to the desk, trying to identify all the strange panels hoping it will give them a clue of where they currently were or what had happened.

You got my meaning. I just wanted to talk about the situation and what we know. It seems unlikely to me that people from Golarion just run from one room to another without some consideration^^

It really seems to me no one considered before where that fire came from or cared about it, not even Khonnir. The fire must come from some giant machine down here. Hey where you going? You even listened? Oh lights on a panel. What do they do?

"Who is leaving you behind?" the missionary asks aloud, a puzzled expression on his face

Every time someone takes 20 on it represents that person spending 20-30 minutues In One Room! I think you're misconstruing lots of posts for quick movment, its not - we're just speeding up time lol; that being said we're tracking someone who may or not be bleeding out. I imagine Golarion adventurer's acting very much this way. Mission first, museum tour afterwards. In general taking 10 on a skill takes 10 times the time and taking 20 takes 20 times the time.

Well it takes a round for perception so 2 mins actually, you might be getting confused with Disable device, which takes a minute; However you cannot take 20 on that anyway

Taking 10 is passive skill use actually so it general takes the same time as the original action it just cannot be too high or low, so if you fail you wouldnt realize.

Yvell sneers, " When one doesn't respond to your words it does not mean I haven't recognized or listened. With what we found out simply from the keycards and other constructs, I came to the conclusion it all comes from this 'Starship Divinity' in one way or another. Either way, we're spending plenty of time checking the rooms. It's the point I was making. It's the Gather Information checks that take multiple D4's of hours, I was mistaken.

Yvell:
He sees several flashing images come from the desk, including the desert and other strange aliens. For a moment he thinks he sees a bloody, bone pickaxe, but the image does not show up again for him to confirm it. Androffan text quickly shows up on the panel. It says, "Welcome to the Science Deck. Please find a medical drone to assist you."

Pressing the buttons on the desk doesn't seem to do anything.

Derlin:

Derlin sees footprints in blood entering the double doors. He checks the other door behind the large desk but it seems to be locked. Instead of a keyhole, there is another machine with a slot beside the door. The double doors have a similar machine.

You glance over at the large desk and see images of creatures and the desert flashing randomly, it seems.

Auehda:

Auehda tries to be sneaky, but they makes too much noise as they speak aloud about everything they see. You see several images flash on the panel of the large desk, including a strange alien creature. You see a blood moon hanging over a desert like the one you passed through earlier.

In the blood you see footprints. You also check both doors and they appear to be locked.

The lights on the ceiling illuminate the room, making it easier to see. You do not believe they have any other function.

Finally, the reddish fungal growths on the walls look like bloodied mushrooms, and smell like death. You are neither sure it is wise to eat them, nor what kind of species they are.

Ibuki:

Looking at the flashing panels on the desk, you see various different alien creatures and images of the desert landscape over a blood red moon.

Pushing the buttons does not seem to have any effect on what happens. You believe the machine is some kind of surveillance for the floor, but it is malfunctioning or broken completely. Now it only shows strange, random images.

Androffan text flashes on the screen as well, but it passes too quickly for you to read what it says.

Actually Yvell, you can take 20 on Disable Device. Just not for stuff that has consequences for failure, like disabling traps.

Anyway I get your point Derlin. We're taking our time here.

After a few minutes of examining the footprints, Burnt One looks up. "There are footprints in the blood! Not sure from what!" They try the doors, but both prove locked.

They check the fungus. "Not good food." And reach a verdict on the ceiling. "Good for light."

Finally, approaching the desk where Yvell is working, they catch a glimpse of images flickering. "Look! Visions above desk. Flame moon rises over desert. Monster from before with sticky black stuff and edible arms. Flying monster with vines all around and red sacs on side and sharp-toothed whirl-mouth between sacs."

Do these lead to a door we haven't came/went through GM?

Bloodstains mar the floor and walls of this hallway, while scorch marks and smears of ash on the walls evidence some sort of altercation having taken place in this area relatively recently. Four tangled mounds of metal and other materials lie further up the hall, surrounded by strangely colored stains.

The hallway goes north then curves east. At the end are two sets of double doors, one set goes East, and the other goes South.

We will try to utilize it to the best of our ability, the blood confirmed this place is dangerous. "

Taking his card out he swipe it at the east door and peers behind at Derlin, " I am going to depend on yourself and Bran from this point to cover our softer allies with me. I am not sure I can summon up a fury as I did before against the Zombie and I am also not sure that there may be more. We have no clue how deadly such a creature may be. So if you have any long-lasting buffs this might be the time for it. We don't know what could be in this place or further and most likely cant take our sweet time with all that blood

Yvell opens the door.

A long table with various unusual stones and dirt samples heaped on it sits along the southern wall of this room, while to the north a line of metal desks with glowing panels and buttons are placed next to a large humming device. The heart of this device seems to be some sort of flickering sphere of reddish brown mud or dirt. Dust covers much of this room, save for a strangely clean swath between the doors, which leads to the strange humming device.

A purple plant like creature sits in the middle of the room. It looks like a bulb with ropy legs, and is encrusted with fungal shelves along its body.

" Looking around the room for someone that might be hiding, he was also wary of the plant, it seemed to be odd like the Coral creature from before.. or anything down here recently.

" Did anyone else hear that? "

Yvell:
Yvell sees nothing hiding. He also doesn't hear anything except for the humming of the machine.

"Yvell... Where am I?" The voice whispers in your minds again.

Yvell could see nothing out of the ordinary not even something moving save for this plant in the middle. He doesnt enter the room yet ofcourse, there was no reason. Then it dawned upon him, Perhaps the plant was speaking. There were stories of such creatures, Treants and fey beings that were plantlike. This alarmed Yvell greatly, but since they werent attacked it was either non-hostile or Yvell was out of it's reach.

" Well you are in the 'Starship Divinity' and I believe part of their 'Research Deck'. Who are you? Are you in front of me right now? What do you want? "

The purple plant shakes its stalks.

You hear the whispering voice in your minds again.

"I am here. Yes, Yvell. I want more red food. Please, I am very hungry."

Yvell sees where this might be going but the condition of this room suggested nothing was particularly dragged into that room. He didn't tense up however.

" So you are the plant I see, Red Food, what does this red food look like? Did it have a shape much like mine or do you mean.. Meat? "

"Shall I try and get a look at the pannels over there'?" Derlin says, gesturing towards the humming device.

"Get out of my mind" the missionary says, mostly under his breath.

GM - no other exits to this room other than the door we came in?

Derlin looks at the fungi and the path of blood.

"Someone feeds this thing. I'd bet it eats meat. All this blood, you see? Perhaps we should check the other door if there are no other exits here. I am disturbed by this creature speaking in my mind Yvell. It does not belong there." Derlin frowns, gripping his falca.

There was a door in the room to the south

Yvell looked to his side as Derlin spoke up " I'm well aware of this, however, it seems as though it can be.. communicated with. I am not one who venerates all life However. And perhaps mentally is how it speaks. Either way we have no issue unless it makes one, there are most likely objects and information inside and another path. Though we may be able to go around.. if you prefer. How many plants have you seen that can talk? "

"None, I'll walk around to test it. Be ready." Derlin says, skirting this strange life form as best he can. Once on the other side he inspects the dessks and humming device.

"I am not red food. We may bring you some if you behave have you seen a man matching this description...", as he walks, Derlin describes Khonnir Baine to this telepathic fungi. He remains civil yet wary, ready to attack should the thing become hostile.

If this thing remains unhostile this might be a great time to NPC Ibuki for his Know. Skills and Disable Device etc. It certainly might make a difference.
