Cesadia opens the doors of the Sleepless building once again and the party camps out in an unused reading room.

When they arrived back at the Sleepless building, Mara updated Cesadia on what happened. She discussed plans for the next day with her comrades, and finally prepared for the night's rest. She made sure that they kept a watch, in case the cult tried to make a move against them here.

In the morning, she awoke and meditated, communing with her parents on how to remove Dervak's curse.

Spells Memorized:
Orisons: Detect Magic, Light, Guidance, Read Magic
1st lvl: Ant Haul, Bless, Cure Light Wounds, Liberating Command
2nd lvl: Barkskin x2, Ghostbane Dirge, Spiritual Weapon
3rd lvl: Remove Curse, 2 x open slot

Once she had finished her preparations, Mara joined Dervak and performed the ritual to remove his affliction.

Remove Curse (caster level check): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

I don't think the Fortune Hex helps with caster level checks.

After determining that her attempt had been unsuccessful, she meditated once more and tried again.

Remove Curse (caster level check): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

That too failed to do the trick, so she meditated again and made her last attempt of the day.

Remove Curse (caster level check): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

Theo suffers from a nasty variety of bubonic plague. He likely caught it while in the vicinity of the dead rats. His only solace is that the cultist's water source is likely tainted. Unfortunately his magic is not enough to dispel the disease. Mara does determine that he is the only member of the group who currently has it, but he can possibly spread it to others.

RAW I don't think paralyzed limits line of sight, especially since facing is not a thing in Pathfinder. I can understand how that's not satisfying so Mara can roll a d8 to determine which square face or corner she's facing, similar to a missed splash weapon. Once she has her facing she can teleport to any square in a cone from that origin point.

Perception vs DC 5 or 25
Ellery: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
Rowan: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22

Dervak, Ellery, and Mara fight off their respective afflictions but Ellery and Rowan aren't as lucky. Rowan and Ellery despite the noise around them easily hear the vampire in the direction of the stairs, but aren't sure the exact square.

Bite vs Mara, heroism: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 8 + 2 = 29
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Slam vs Mara, heroism: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 8 + 2 = 26

Mara Fort vs Wither: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Dex Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Cha Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1

The monstrosity continues to drift toward Mara and assails her again. She wraps herself around Mara and drinks her blood once again. 15 damage, 4 con damage, and both are grappled if I'm not mistaken

"Theophilus, make me lucky!"
Figuring a falchion crit is our best chance of ending this quickly, although if Theo has something else to take out the enemy go for it.

Dervak thinks to himself. Is your redemption or the purity of your soul worth Mara's life? You know what you have to do...

Reality wobbles around him.

Agreed. Dervak needs to get its attention!

Theophilus Fortunes Hex Dervak. He Cackles.

Mara knew that death was close. She healed herself and drew her dagger, hoping that her friends could kill the vampire before it killed her.

Healing Hex (Mara): 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (4, 6) + 6 = 16

I don't think drawing a dagger provokes.

It does not.

Mara does not provide a flank because you don't threaten an area while grappled. Still, with Fortune, Dervak should be able to hit.
The half-orc warrior moves up and swings his massive sword at the monstrosity.
Fortune on the attack roll, and Pugnacious to increase the damage by one step to 2d6.
