Bloodbride Mehakeri |
You are all called into a large room with 3 doors. One is the one you came through that leads to your small cells, one leads to the coliseum. From the third door comes a tall female Dark Eldar with white hair colored red with blood. She has a retinue of slaves and servants with her and a cadre of Kabalite Warriors. Your instinct is to lunch at them as they enter the room, but you find you are held by some unseen force. She smiles at you and kicks one of her slaves to the ground. It is a Tau from the looks of it. She speaks in her Xeno tongue and the blue humanoid translates.
"The mighty Bloodbride Mehakeri of the Cult of the Withered blade and champion of Lord Xerum of the Splintered Talon Kabal informs you to prepare to die. Try to make it look good."
You all look at each other. This is your first match with fellow space marines by your side, a trial by fire. The door to the coliseum opens and the Kabalite warriors step forward and herd you into the room with Dark Lances lowered in your direction.
Brother Vorenthar |
When he was hearded into the room those observing him could see the occasional muscle twitch on his massive transhuman body. Black brooding eyes took in his companions before the female Dark Eldar made her way into the room. When the female spook his lips curled into a near snarl as he felt the unseen force helt him in check, witch craft held him at bay. Before being herded into the Arena he turned to the xenos form on the floor. "Tell the Blood b@%@+ that Brother Vorenthar of the Black Templars will return from the Arena and that her live is forfeit from this day forward..."
And with that the massive Templar turned around and entered the arena...
Tiamat Firewalker |
As he was called to fight again, Tiamat stands up and walks to the dedicated room - his face frozen and his every movement robotic. If there were not his eyes, scanning his surrounding as if determined to store every little detail into his mind, one might think of this towering black-skinned man with the red eyes and complex scar tissue as a servitor.
As he entered the room were already three other Space Marines are waiting, he simply scanned them with his burning eyes without blinking once. As the so-called Bloodbride enters and holds her speech, he does not give a sign of understanding her talk or that of the enslaved Tau. Instead he bisects the present enemy warriors with his gaze, storing information's about their equipment, marks of rank and other things which might be of a tactical or strategic value one day.
"Quote of the day: 'And they shall know no fear'. They have send me to the floor once, but they will never do it again. My mission here in this Xeno graveyard is one of infiltration and reconnaissance. One day they will mourn the day they had captured the Emperor finest's alive!"
With that thought Tiamat enters the arena with mechanically precise steps...

Hey Vorenthar, just curious, but you are aware that Wolf Scouts are not new initiates, right? The Space Wolves draw their scouts from their ranks of seasoned veterans.
Feliks is a long way from a pup.

oh I do know :P But it never gets old to call a space wolf a pup... just don't do it to their face... :D

There was a ooc about tactics, I will answer it here as I do not have to time to do a full gameplay post yet.
In this situation there is nothing to assault, if anything you are attempting to secure and hold the weapon cache in the middle so Defense would actually be the appropriate tactic once you arrive there. Now this could change, and if a viable target presents itself Tactics can be used for special insight.

I also have a question about fate points and some of the Codex Solo Mode abilities. In tabletop play, they refresh with each session. When do you want them to refresh here, or will you just let us know?
GM-Gathrix |
Apologies again for not posting here first, I gave up after you began and jumped when I saw your post for one more. Won't happen again. Pr/Fp issue is clear.
No problem its fine
If you want to gain progress on your brethren you might want to climb, but it is more about who is ahead in this obstacle course. There is a benefit to that of course, the obvious being limited weapons at the end and getting first pick, also there will be an AAR after the match. Still things like team work ect matter too. All will be revealed.

Very sorry, guys. I had computer crashing kinds of problems this weekend. And since I live a goodly bit out of town, it is no simple matter for me to go grab some free internet...
Sorry.

That is correct, I assume you mean the Forbidden Lore (xenos) which you get as a starting skill if Deathwatch, but I didn't think we were Deathwatch yet.
Also apologies Vaylund, the references to you being a wolf were me getting mixed up with your SW librarian. Forgot you were an Iron Hand.
Think that leap was a fail, cos it was at -10. That is unless the GM will let you off the extra 3 as I am trying to assist.

I'll use a FP if necessary, almost posted an ooc remark but don't want too much in game play thread. wasn't clear on language and thought it might only be for acrobatics which almost no one begins with except maybe a few chapters and assault Marines. Though it was probably his intent for both, so we'll see, thanks for saying something and reminding me, and forget about the wolf reference, no worries. Glad to be playing side by side again.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
I though so, but do not have my books with me at work (I know shame on me xD)
Would it be possible to trip that thing?
You can try a Knockdown action with an opposed strength check. Or a called shot to the legs. To make a called shot with melee you need a talent, ranged it is -20 BS

Just for clarification: Does one really needs a talent for melee called shoots? Under Actions->Called Shoot it is just -20 on WS or BS. Of course there are talents to reduce this malus, for both ranged and melee, but I cannot find talent needed for Ws anywhere. Could of course be the crappy book, with all the important things hidden in side boxes or 10 pages from were it would be needed ...

Congratulations on finishing your first match. Those of you involved are being sponsored by the Sutured Helix Coven. I will post information regarding this soon(within 24 hours) in the Gameplay tab.
So our first AAR. Use this as a chance to critique me as well. I can only get better if I get feedback. This was a quick match to dust off the cobwebs and get a sense of what this campaign will be like. Sometimes I will take suggestions for Best RP and Best FP use, but this was a short match so I am just going to post my choices.
Best Roleplayer This match it goes to Knutr. His banter was good and he was a team player. I wish I could give it to everyone, but I think looking back over the posts he deserves it the most. Knutr has 1 honorable mention.
Best Use of a Fate Point I am giving this to Tiamat for his reroll to trip. He reroll failed, which can be discouraging, but it was a good idea. Tiamat has 1 Honorable Mention.
MVP Now its your turn. Pick who you thought was the MVP of the session based on any criteria. Please share that criteria and don't vote for yourself. I will only break ties.

I'll vote for Tiamat, he had a lot of good suggestions that others were then able to act off. Although Knutr is a very close second.
Not that it matters, but a 4m charge is less distance than my half move, so I figured that wouldn't require an AG test to slip, but your call.
