"The high lady wants you equipped for this match. You each get 2 pieces of armor. Choose wisely. " Domos has cobbled together some Carapace armor (rating 6). Pick 2 locations you wish to cover. You may purchase more locations for 5 req a piece.
Look in gameplay at the Armory available. Unless you have been sponsored by the Sutured Helix, you can only choose from Domos' Armory. For this match you receive 10 requisition. This is in addition to any other requisition you may have gained.
Librarian Vaylund |
I'm in for match 2.
Will we suffer penalties for using non Astartes weapons? Size difference and all unless they've been customized for our size hands... Melee weapons shouldn't matter, but just wanted to ask and make sure.
Also, are we all together yet while arming ourselves, so we can talk IC?
Have some ideas but not sure if I should post IC or OOC.

The massive templar looked up from his prayer when the bloodsmith spoke, a cruel grin touched his lips whe he regarded the being. "I am ready for whatever challenge you xenos scum throw at me, nothing will stand in my way.." with that he slowly got up and got himself ready.
Reporting in!
Starting requisition: 20
Match requisition: 10
requisition spend
Chainsword: 6
Bolt pistol: 5
2 clips: 2
Total spent: 13
Total left: 17
Carapace armor locations: body + legs
Spending my xp in a bit :)
Librarian Vaylund |
Requisition: (could be adjusted if we get a chance to collaborate while arming ourselves)
30 requisition:
Chest and left leg. (free)
Sacris Claymore (3)
Bolt Pistol (5)
2 bolt clips (2)
4 pieces of armor (20) for myself and others. Could be used for ammo or weapons too, depending on how we decide to cooperate.
Some of us could prepare for ranged combat and less armor, while some armor up and get into CQC.

Ok, so some questions arise.
·Are locations considered in pairs or alone? I mean, do I spend 5 Req for Legs or rather Right Leg?
·Is Carapace Armour of Xeno manufactory?
·Do we get to talk about our "purchases", thus being able to purchase for other Brothers? (Though I think I have enough to arm myself, and might even forfeit the Bolt Pistol for an extra 7 RP).
Thus compiled, my Req choices and my XP expenditures are on my CharSheet. Will change them as needed when GM-Gathrix solves our doubts

I'm in of theres space left!
I'm busy right now, but will put up more later today.
I would have gone with a heavy flamer and a chainsword, but I have not noticed that armor ...
Also xp-wise I have gone with Cleanse&Purify from my chapter for even more flame damage.

Well I thought we had a lot more interest then this and I wanted to allow others a chance to play. I am fine with just continuing with the same group.
The Non-Astartes weapons are not your size, but you do not suffer the penalty to manual dexterity outside of your Power Armor so no other penalties will be applied to the weapons (they are pretty rough as it is). There is a renown hit as this is using Xeno technology, luckily you will find no heretical items as that is the one thing that Dark Eldar fear.
The locations are individual, 5 req per location. This is based on the Hit location chart so Head, Body, Left Leg, Right Leg, Right Arm, Left Arm.
You can in theory buy something and give it to your brother in the arena, but in general there is not a requisition pool. Domos would work with you on if you have 3 left over and someone has 2 making it 5, but do not expect that generosity from Drecarus.
The Carapace Armor is not of Xeno manufacture, Bloodsmith Domos has cobbled together from all the Imperial Guard armor he had.
GM-Gathrix |
Awesome! :)
So is the power maul xenos or imperial? If it is Xenos, I will take the astartes chainsword instead.
Everything in Domos' Armory is Imperial, it should be under Misc Imperial. Specifically it is from the Adeptus Arbites, the Judge Dredd-like police force of 40k.
New game is up!

I will do 2 legs + chest (so 15 requisition for me)
Sidenote, if you want GM-Gathrix I will sit out from the 3rd so that other people can jump in :)
Remember that you get two pieces for free. If you spend 15 requisition, you can have all but one location covered.

Emphasis mine.

I am pretty sure they errata'd righteous fury. You only get one additional d10, not a full extra damage. It still chains into more d10s as long as you roll 10, but each time it is only a single d10 with no bonuses adding to it.
See page 5 of the Errata.
Brother Vorenthar |
Righteous Fury (page 245):
The sentence “If that second attack hits, the attacker may make an additional Damage roll and add it to the Damage total” should change to “If that second attack hits, the attacker may roll one additional damage dice (1d10) and add it to the Damage total.”
The Example should read: “Helgath has hit a heretic with his combat knife and proceeds to make his Damage roll. A combat knife deals 1d10+2 points of Damage, plus 10 for Helgath’s Strength Bonus (modified by his power armour) of 10. Helgath rolls 1d10 and gets a 10 and then adds 12 for a total of 22. In addition, as his dice result was a 10, his attack is also a possible Righteous Fury! Helgath then makes a second attack roll identical to his first, which is a Weapon Skill Test using his Weapon Skill of 45. Helgath rolls a 22, which is a hit! He now rolls one additional Damage dice and gets a 5. Helgath’s Damage total for this attack is 27 (22+5). The Emperor has truly smiled upon Helgath this day.”
So you are indeed correct... the dmg should be less, will post in the thread.

@GM
In the last update for round 1 you still have "*make parry" beside my name, was my dodge unsuccessful or I only can parry? As a Librarian I have iron arm psy power that would allow me to parry and can be used as a reaction, but with Sacris Claymore I can't parry b/c its unwieldy, so I'm unsure if you were pushing me to use that or just take the hit?
Brother Vorenthar |
For my sake of sanity (just so I am right on the rules due to being rusty).
Vorenthar: toughness 50 (so +5 soak).
No arm armor,
so I take 7 points of damage (pen doesn't affect this I think?)
GM-Gathrix |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
I still don't understand why you can't do Overwatch with a flamer, it seems an obvious weapon for it. But as by the book I can't can I hold my action until they attack?
if the designated kill zone is within the flamer's range I would let you. You can also delay. I focus more on telling a story then worrying about every little rule, especially with rules as poorly arranged as these. I try to be fair and consistent.

Vaylund is enraged by the cowardice of the enemy and sees holding the pillar as too defensive. Let us end this quickly, are we not Marines! taunting his brothers to take the offensive.
Vaylund grips the Sacris Claymore and jumps off the pillar towards the most movement in the water. Yell before you fire hoping his heightened hearing would give him the warning to dive under water to avoid any flames.

ROFL-LOL-OMG! Anyone: "Let's do this: LEEEROY!" ?^^
...and there goes my possibly-brilliant battle-plan =DNice job playing a Iron Hand Marine ^^
