Black Crusade: Say goodbye to advancement tables.
Interesting. Such is the nature of Chaos, I guess. I like the idea, it is a little radical, but it should reflect perfectly the nature of characters. I especially like the element that adjusts the cost of abilities per your orientation to a particular Chaos power.

Red Scorpions:
Fanatical loyal to the Emperor in whose divinity they believe without question, strict adherents to the Codex Astrates which they view as holy scripture. Stalwart traditionalists among space marines. Their endless hatred for the alien and the mutant has also become famed across the stars, as is their devotion to purity and scorn of deviation from the pure human form.
Red Scorpions fanatical belief in their own purity, and the lengths they will go to in order to preserve it has had the consequence of giving the Chapter a strongly isolationist streak when it comes to its interactions with other parts of the Imperium on anything but practical military level, and as such they behold no domains and are beholden to none but their own sense of duty.
The Chapter is extremely Xenophobic, and for no cause they will consider to serve alongside or allying with alien, even at the cost of their own lives. Furthermore they are extraordinarily intolerant of any genetic deviation from pure human form and despise abhumans, mutants or augments of any kind, and refuse to fight as brothers in arms with such "abomination". The only exception they allow being those few they deem to have been the work of the Emperor's own divine hand (Like the Navigators for example), and even then, there are limits to what they will readily tolerate.
Red Scorpions Space Marines is expected to master every conceivable facet of warfare the Codex describes, and be available for re-assignment to different squad types and differing companies as soon as the need arises. (From tactical to assault or devastator for example)
If you need something more detailed ask and it shall be given if it's in my power to do so, and its the IA-9 that has the Red Scorpions.

Protocol question for the Dark Angels: Do you prefer to be addressed as Brother Lyriel or Brother Vex or do you care? Likewise Brother Eli or Brother Syne? --Thanks!
I'm glad you finally asked, Eradico, I have been meaning to since we first started posting in IC. I'll go with whatever you Sons of the Lion prefer.
Lone Wolf and Cub references applied to Warhammer 40K...this is why you guys are fun to game with!
In case anyone missed it in the Oremor Affliction OOC thread, Davi will be taking a hiatus from his PbP gaming, so I'll by NPCing brother Sepheren in the interim until he returns.

I'm really enjoying the back and forth between Hrothgar and Vex, Rad and Bal are really going to make this relationship interesting.
Just wanted to give you guys a heads up, I'm sorry about the trickle of posts this week, but I had a software upgrade at work go pretty awry (Beltayn quote, there) so I have been exhausting myself trying to get it straightened out. Post volume will increase in both the Oremor Affliction and here over the weekend, though, as things are finally getting back to normal. Word to the wise, never volunteer to be the de-facto department IT guy no matter how much more computer expertise you have than your co-workers. It's like working two jobs, sometimes.

Me too. It's fun watching the Space Wolf get under the Lyriel's skin. :)
Emeric may reveal some of his attitude towards the librarian as well.

Rook, no problem. It stinks when life's logistics get in the way of our fun!

Not really under Lyriel's skin. More like a PHD's irritation of feeling like they are having a conversation with a child, or a moron Lol. I am sure that Emeric will feel the same when we all ask him Tech questions; or questions about the Omnissiah.
Got to love class, and chapter bias's Lol.
...And I have a feeling Hrothgar won't like Lyriel's answer to his challenge...

Just hope Sepheren doesn't forget about Emeric when it comes to healing Lol.

Welcome to the game Deiros!
I have been known to make some small modification to published adventures from time to time to keep things interesting. I can also promise it won't be the last time, Rad.
Just an FYI, I am at work right now, but plan on getting round #1 of the combat in the motor pool up for tonight.

Some book-keeping minutiae:
Looks like I requisitioned a dipole mag-lock for no reason. I thought I would need free hands for lots of techmarine stuff and wanted the mag-lock for ready bolter access. The definition on p. 157 reads that bolters already have mag-locks, it's the dipole that's special. But quick-draw already confers readying one's basic weapons as a free action. Sorry for the wasted req!
The definition for chrono on p. 172 reads, "Space Marines typically rely on the ones built into their armor." So I'm unsure if Emeric and Quintus needed to requisition ones for the mission. Maybe they're special and are uplinked to satellite arrays? :)
In case the team is separated it looks like everyone will know the time (which Rook indicated with his post headings).
Anyways in the future it looks like these items might not merit requisition.

Good to know, Eradico. I figured a chrono would be built-in to Astartes powered armor somewhere given all the other subsystems, but must have missed the reference. I'd say since you payed the Requisition cost, the two that Emeric and Quintus are using are indeed uplinked to the Thunder's Word to keep an accurate and synchronized mission time.
Also, after posting today, Caledonii, I re-read the errata on the Righteous Fury damage roll. From the way it is written in the errata, it sounds like you roll 1d10 for extra damage regardless of the damage dice of the weapon in question. This isn't a deal-breaker with your devastating Metal Storm attack, as you only need to do enough damage with each hit to bypass the AP and TB of the target horde to deal Magnitude damage, but should be adhered to in the future. If anyone reads this differently, or I'm missing something, please let me know. I honestly wish it was more clearly written:
Deathwatch Errata on page 5.

I am cool with that. When I first read it in the book I at first thought it was that way then I reread it...I guess I was right the first time. It will make the flamer useful for higher armor and toughness hordes.

Sorry about the lull the past few days, guys, I had to stay late at work to finish up some projects before my vacation this week. Exhaustion then ensued.
The good news is, this should leave me with plenty of time to post over the next several days, and should let us get close to completing this prelude chapter of the campaign.
