Golarion, the land of many quests, never truly at peace. There is always some conflict, some quest to be completed. Heroes rise and fall, some never truly die, living on in legend for eternity. Some are mighty clerics, divine conduits for their God. Others the simple mercenary turned hero. The stealthy rouge their to make some coin. And none shall forget the mighty wizards, who's spells have the power to sculpt the world to their desires.
Powerful as they are, there are beings of even greater power. The deities themselves. Powerful entities, many who started out as mortals themselves, finally ascending into Godhood. Beings who create these heroes and grant them power. Immortal beings who have the power to destroy or save Golorian. Or so many think.
But,are they truly immortal? There is an enemy who even they fear, one who they trapped long ago. But now he awakens, and his hunger for revenge is only growing. Who may stop this evil?
Well that's what I want to know. Anyone up for a hombrew?
What I'm looking for:
I'll leave the thread open for a few days to a week. I'm looking for four players, maybe five if I'm indecisive. The adventure will begin in Absalom, but you may be from anywhere essentially on Golorian.
I look forward to reading your ideas.

That's very interesting. Extremely interesting. I think I can handle playing in this on top of DMing my own thing. I'll apply.
Could you tell us a bit about how we start out? Not location, but a sort of hook, maybe? Should we be looking to hire onto a ship, know some person in particular, or just be in Absalon at the right time?

I think I'll go with the set 1 ;p. Probably a human bloodrager or a barbarian I think? Gonna be from the Mwangi Expanse or Sargava tho. Or I might go with a point buy? The idea I have is a bloodrager from the Mwangi Expanse (probably a tribesman from the Zenj) who comes to Absalom to learn more about the Starstone and the worship of the Ascended (as none of the ascended gods are widely worshiped in the Expanse.

So I am going to change my idea a bit (OK, a lot). I am instead going to create a human or dwarf bolt ace with a focus on really big crossbows.
2 minute background.
My character was a part of a small village that was attacked by a dragon. There were few survivors, of which my character was one of them, and now orphaned. Utterly terrified and helpless back then, he vowed to never be helpless again, and to never suffer a dragon to live. Realizing that he could never axe a dragon to death, he took up the crossbow, slayer style. He also realized that only really big crossbows could have any chance of bringing down really big dragons.
Ta bring down dragons, ya need ta bring out the really big guns.
So, he would be a human/dwarf Bolt Ace wielding a heavy crank crossbow which is often firing bolts trailing rope in the hopes of anchoring creatures to the ground. A large part of his wealth will be buying rope and bolts :)
Just want to confirm that this is OK for me to start off with a mwk crank crossbow as my starting weapon? (650gp weapon in comparison to 1-2k for the gunslingers normal firearm)
Even if there are no dragons in the campaign he would still be a good ranged damage dealer with a bit of mobility utility from the crossbow firing rope and whatnot.
Would be funny if both me and archlitch got in, a dragon deciple and a dragon hater ^-^
Gobo Horde |
Sure. That would be a good option.
Then how would this part work then?
A bolt ace is proficient with all crossbows instead of all firearms and begins play with a masterwork crossbow of her choice.
This ability alters the gunslinger's weapon proficiencies and replaces gunsmith.
But the rich parents trait would give me a considerable amount to go towards that.
Nevaal Sparrowhawk |
So I have most of the crunch down and I am working on the fluff but I want to check in with GM TPK before I go too far. I am planning on playing a Tiefling Monk of the Four Winds.
Quick background
Come from the Isle of Erran, specifically Escadar. Tiefling doesn't fit in to begin with, common member in brawls of shady Escadar, picked a fight with a group I couldn't beat so I got rekt. Was picked up by some monks that broke up the fight and was taken to the non-canon Temple of Irori on the island.
Get all healed up. Taught to stop attacking others out of anger and fear. Taught monastic traditions at temple and try to follow in the footsteps of Irori in terms of self perfection. Advised to travel the world, understand the world to understand oneself, and to start at the center of the world, Absalom.

I'm fairly new to the forums, and don't know exactly how to use the dice rolling function, so I'm using this website to roll my stats.
First set:
4d6 (6, 1, 4, 6) =17 [16]
4d6 (5, 2, 3, 2) =12 [10]
4d6 (1, 3, 3, 1) =8 [7]

4d6 (1, 3, 1, 1) =6 [5]
4d6 (3, 5, 6, 1) =15 [14]
...We might as well consider me dead before we even begin play. Let's hope I'm favored a bit more by the next roll.
Second set:
4d6 (5, 6, 4, 3) =18 [15]
4d6 (4, 1, 3, 2) =10 [9]
4d6 (2, 5, 1, 4) =12 [11]
4d6 (1, 1, 1, 2) =5 [4]
4d6 (3, 6, 2, 6) =17 [15]
4d6 (3, 6, 6, 2) =17 [15]
...Uhh, can I use the point buy option? This is just sad.

Yup, I'm using point buy.
