The Knight teeters on the pit but manages to avoid falling in! He leaps to safety and looks at the mage with disdain.

The beetles rush forward, clicking their mandibles in rhythm, the noise penetrating the party's ears, except Ravarel. The clicking chatter of the eviscerator beetle's mandibles is hypnotic, and living creatures enthralled by the sound do nothing but clutch at their skulls, trying in vain to rid their minds of the terrible sound.
Everyone, except Ravarel, needs to make a DC 23 Will Save or do nothing for the round.

The northern beetle double moves next to Thak. The southern beetle charges the air elemental!
Bite charge: 1d20 + 23 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 23 + 2 = 27...believe that misses. I don't know Pyrrhus' AC is Air Elemental form.

In Huge Air Elemental form, Pyrrhus AC is 31, so that attack was indeed a miss. Also, his reach is 15ft. so I guess he gets an AoO against the charging beetle.

Pyrrhus easy ignored the beetle chatter and nimbly avoided it's bite, attacking as it came closer.

Attack of Opportunity (Slam): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24

He then summoned the winds around him and turned himself into a whirlwind, growing in size up to 50ft. high and creating a cloud of debris around him, moving forward to lift the cursed beetle.

Pyrrhus can remain in this form for 6 rounds, requiring any creature that touches/share his space to succeed a DC 26 Reflex save to avoid suffer 2d6+4 damage and another DC 26 Reflex save (only for large or smaller creatures) to avoid being lifted and trapped in the whirlwind. A lifted creature can't move (unless able to fly, in which case is allowed a Reflex save each round) and takes 2d6+4 damage each round, also suffering -4 Dex and -2 on attack rolls. In Whirlwind Shape, Pyrrhus doesn't provokes AoO but also can't attack and doesn't threat an area.

The whirlwind has 5ft. at his base and 25ft. at his top, with a debris cloud of 10ft. radius that obscures all vision (including darkvision) and grants total concealment to creatures beyond 5ft. inside it.

Whirlwind Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 2) + 4 = 10 Reflex DC 26 negates and another Reflex DC 26 to avoid being lifted.

P, under the rules, before you act in the Initiative Order, you are flat-footed. So, no AoO either.
Flat-Footed: At the start of a battle, before you have had a chance to act (specifically, before your first regular turn in the initiative order), you are flat-footed. You can't use your Dexterity bonus to AC (if any) while flat-footed.

So without the 6-7 AC points from Dexterity, that 27 was a hit.

Kyuss Knight moved up
Rav cast Creat Pit almost capturing the Knight but he jumped to safety and then he moved out of range of the beetles' aura.
The beetles moved into range, striking Pyrrhus and maddening Siggut.
Pyrrhus turned into a whirlwind, lifting the beetle off the ground and buffeting it with winds, but not harming its tough hide.
Kaydanna shot a bolt of searing light at the Kyuss Knight that burned and enraged him.
Thak miscalculated the creature's reach and got bit for his efforts.
Siggut was maddened by the beetles' aura.

Worried about the amount of damage the beetle caused to him, Pyrrhus decided to fortify his skin, making it harder than ever.

Casting Barkskin for +5 natural armor. In whirlwind form, Pyrrhus is still able to cast spells, since he is only forbidden to attack. He also doesn't provoke AoO in this form, but I'll cast defensively just in case.

Cast Defensively (DC 14): 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (8) + 21 = 29 I'd also like to discuss the necessity of rolling for this... Pyrrhus modifier is +21 and since there is no failure at a natural 1, he will net at least 22, enough to cast a 6th level spell (his max level spell). So can we agree that he will cast defensively every time?

Pyrrhus then flies upward, intending to show the beetle the beautiful sky before showing how hard is the ground.

Moving 110ft. upwards. Will not release the beetle yet, just next round for a max 20d6 falling damage if that is ok.

Actually, P, casting a sixth level defensively is DC 27 so you will have to roll when you cast 4th level and higher spells (DC 23, 25, and 27 respectively). But for lower level spells, it is fine. Finally, you ascend at half speed so 55' this round.

Nezzarim curses the dwarven cleric, who just burned him with acid. "You will die for that, priest!" He grips his bastard sword, moves around Kaydanna, taking a hit, moves around the confused dwarf and brings the sword to bear on the wounded dwarf! He plunges the unholy bastard sword through the dwarf's chest, who collapses to the ground, seemingly dead.

Kay, don't forget AoO. Then Ravarel and then the entire party is up, since the beetle causing the confusion is dead and you can't hear the trapped one.

Kaydanna calls upon the divine power of Mayahaine and sends a burst of holy energy just to the right of the beetle affecting both the beetle and the undead warrior

Holy Smite:

You draw down holy power to smite your enemies. Only evil and neutral creatures are harmed by the spell; good creatures are unaffected.

The spell deals 1d8 points of damage per two caster levels (maximum 5d8) to each evil creature in the area (or 1d6 points of damage per caster level, maximum 10d6, to an evil outsider) and causes it to become blinded for 1 round. A successful Will saving throw reduces damage to half and negates the blinded effect.
