Summary of Round 1:
Ravarel harmed and dazed 1 naga with a fireball; harmed the other
Kaydanna stayed in the back
The naga moved up and tried to blind the arcanist, who only resisted the blinding necromantic effect through the magic of her staff!
The newcomer charges ahead and slashes the non-dazed worm naga, easily resisting their malevolent gaze.
Siggut readies an action if the naga get closer to close his eyes.
Elise readies a dispel magic.
Ravarel and Kaydanna are up in Round 2.
Ravarel Darkwood |
Ravarel casts Scorching Ray at the Naga that Oreanna is attacking
-4 for firing into melee
Scorching Ray
RTA1: 1d20 + 9 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 9 - 4 = 21

RTA2: 1d20 + 9 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 9 - 4 = 20
fire damage: 4d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 2, 2, 1) + 4 = 14

Round 3: Bad guys' turn:
The worm naga remains dazed (Round 2 of 3).
The worm naga engaged with the paladin, tries to cast defensively Slay Living:
1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32 vs. DC 25...success
Then it tries to touch the paladin, touching her and unleashing black energy through her body: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15..hit
Oreanna, please make a DC 21 Fortitude save (add +4 morale bonus for death ward)
Failure = 12d6 + 10 ⇒ (6, 2, 5, 4, 4, 3, 1, 2, 2, 6, 1, 4) + 10 = 50
Success = 3d6 + 10 ⇒ (6, 2, 2) + 10 = 20
Suddenly, 2 rays of fire strike Ravarel in the back, but thankfully, he is protected from harm due to cleric's communal resist energy. However, the invisible assailant (another worm naga) suddenly appears, subjecting everyone within 30' to its gaze attack!
Ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 9 + 2 = 16
Ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 9 + 2 = 26
Ravarel and Elise, please roll DC 22 Will saves or be feebleminded. Ravarel receives a -4 penalty to saving throw.
After the saves, the party is up!
Elise Sunwake |
Her readied would go off with the spell being cast..
Caster Level: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 thats not gonna do it..
Will vs Feeblemind: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (2) + 22 = 24 whoo..
Remember you gain a +2 to will saves if your within 10' of me..
Are these things undead as well?
Elise Sunwake |
Waiting to see how Rav does on her Feeblemind save before acting.. Also just a question, but with our backs to the creature why would we have to make the save? Seems it would have had to target one of us and it cant do that and cast a spell in the same round..
Ravarel Darkwood |
Will : 1d20 + 14 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 14 - 4 = 20
Edit : add +2 for being next to Elise
Success! Barely
Elise Sunwake |
With that in mind Elise moves up 20' and casts Blessing of Fervor, targeting her allies.. It will hit everyone and Im out of range for the front naga's gaze.
She will also avert her eyes from the one behind them..
She will choose the +2 bonuses this round..
Oreana Del'Aandarth |
Ravarel, it looks like you forgot to add Elise's bonus to will saves and Oreanas +2 sacred bonus to all saves... with either one you'll pass your save.
Fortitude Save DC 21, deathless spirit, death ward, immortal soul, inspiring sword: 1d20 + 21 + 2 + 4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 21 + 2 + 4 + 2 + 2 = 37
Oreana easily resists the Naga's spell and attacks in retaliation. She starts to feel worried that none of her companions yet joined her against her foe.
"Your heart is pure! Heironeous shall protect us all, join me and we'll finish their dark existence!"
Attack#1 (longsword), heroes' feast, inspiring sword, power attack: 1d20 + 21 + 1 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 21 + 1 + 2 - 4 = 38
Attack#1 Crit? (longsword), critical focus, heroes' feast, inspiring sword, power attack: 1d20 + 21 + 1 + 4 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 21 + 1 + 4 + 2 - 4 = 40

Attack#2 (longsword), heroes' feast, inspiring sword, power attack: 1d20 + 16 + 1 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 16 + 1 + 2 - 4 = 21
Damage#2 (longsword), power attack: 1d10 + 11 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 11 + 8 = 26
Attack#3 (longsword), heroes' feast, inspiring sword, power attack: 1d20 + 11 + 1 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 11 + 1 + 2 - 4 = 11
Damage#3 (longsword), power attack: 1d10 + 11 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 11 + 8 = 20
Oreana Del'Aandarth |
Indeed, especially for a paladin that can receive it instead of 2 mercies! Just to better judge our enemies, how many attacks hit?
Oreana Del'Aandarth |
OK, so Oreana will move forward until she is in melee with the other naga. I also forgot to roll for the two gazes so I'll do it now.
Will Save DC 22, inspiring sword, irrepressible: 1d20 + 17 + 2 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 17 + 2 + 8 = 47
Will Save DC 22, inspiring sword, irrepressible: 1d20 + 17 + 2 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 17 + 2 + 8 = 30
Ravarel Darkwood |
Seeing Oreanna finish off one Naga... Rav is confident she can finish off the Dazed Naga before it can recover and resume it's attack.
He flies 30ft away from the sneaky Naga at the rear and hits it with a Scorching Ray
Scorching Ray +2 Inspired Sword RTA1: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 9 + 2 = 25

Oreana Del'Aandarth |
Only now I noticed that Elise cast Blessing of Fervor... not that it would affect her action but Oreana chose the +2 bonus to attack, AC and Reflex.
Kaydanna Krysstalla |
Kaydanna enchants her weapon to Holy using her blessing and charges at the foe behind the group...
BS1+PA+FF: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (20) + 16 = 36...DMG: 1d10 + 19 ⇒ (2) + 19 = 21
Death-Lok |
Yeah, Kay, you also forgot save for gaze.
Will save: 1d20 + 16 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 16 + 2 = 23...success.
Kay: I am trying to calculate your base attack and damage
Attack:BA+9+4Str+2 weapon+1 feat=+16 (with charge and IS feat)=+20
Damage normally:+4Str+2weapon+2feat=+8
With sacred weapon +3/holy/power attack: +8+6+1=+15 damage (how do you get +19?)
Kaydanna Krysstalla |
to attack:
BAB: +9
STR: +4
MGK WPN: +2
FEATS: +1 (furious focus cancels power attack on the first attack)
=+16
to damage:
STR: +4
2handed: +2
MGK WPN: +2
FEATS: +6 PA / +2 Wpn Spec
2handed PA: +3
=+19
also forgot to use steadfast slayer if they are larger than me in size. +2 damage per category larger.
Elise Sunwake |
A couple things too.. You can't charge through allies, but she could use the +2 from BoF for the same effect. Her damage is +6 str, +2 weapon, +2 weapon spec, +9 PA.. Her attack would be +20 with furious focus. She said blessing, but I assume she ment her sacred weapon ability since she doesn't have quicken blessing using it would be a standard action.. That said her sacred weapon is +3 so she would have anther +1 to divy into something, I assume another +1 to hit/dam.. Dont forget about your fervor being used to quicken spells Kay, its one of the major benifits to playing warpriest..
Also could you have not used vital strike there?
Death-Lok |
Thanks, for the breakdown!
Summary of Round:
Nagas inflicted 20 damage on Oreana with Slay Living
Oreanna slew one naga, moved to the dazed one
Siggut blinded himself and moved up
Elise cast Blessing of Fervor and averted eyes
Ravarel cast Scorching Ray, severely burning one of the nagas
Kaydanna moved up and killed the burned naga
Round 4: Bad Guys' Turn
The party hears "Intruders, intruders in the tunnels! Kill them!" A naga appears from the tunnel and double moves past Oreanna, provoking AoO, but also subjecting her and Ravarel to the gaze attack!
Another naga appears and tries to touch Oreanna, yelling, "I curse thee holy dog!"
Touch attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23..success!
Dazed Naga Round 3 of 3
Two nagas appear airwalking behind the party, cast Slay Living, and move up to touch each of Siggut and Kaydanna.
Touch attack on Siggut FF AC: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14...success
Touch attack on Kaydanna: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14...misses!
Okay, that was a complicated round, so let me post resolution of actions:
Oreanna Will save vs. Gaze (DC 22)
Oreanna AoO
Ravarel Will save vs. Gaze
Oreanna Will Save vs. Bestow Curse (DC 19)
Oreanna Will Save vs. 2nd Gaze
Elise Averting: 1d100 ⇒ 36...no save needed
Elise Averting: 1d100 ⇒ 41...no save needed
Kaydanna 2 Will saves vs. Gaze
Siggut Fort save vs. Slay Living (DC 21)
Then party is up!

well that was rather pathetic
Oreana Del'Aandarth |
Oreana withstands the constant assault to her mind and even the profane abilities the creatures were using against her but she was also getting surrounded and that is never a good thing...
Will Save DC 22, irrepressible, inspiring sword: 1d20 + 17 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 17 + 8 + 2 = 37

Will Save DC 22, irrepressible, inspiring sword: 1d20 + 17 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 17 + 8 + 2 = 33
Considering using a couple of Smite Evil... if these enemies start to pile up, eventually Oreana will get a 1 on a save...
Elise Sunwake |
I find myself correcting everyone and I do appologize for it.. Kay you forgot the +2 from inspiring sword, so both pass.. Oreana forgot the +2 from BoF so she would have hit the naga on her AoO. Siggut is forgetting the +1 to hit from Hero's Feast, as in Kay.. If you are out of the 10' range of Elise it also grants a +1 to will saves.
Elise Sunwake |
"How many of the god's forsaken things are there! No matter, Mighty Pelor, I give thanks for this blessing my opponent is about to receive!"

School evocation [air, electricity]; Level bloodrager 4, druid 4, magus 4, shaman 4, sorcerer/wizard 4; Elemental School air 4
CASTING
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, M/DF (a small iron ring)
EFFECT
Range medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Effect two or more 5-ft.-diameter spheres
Duration 1 round/level
Saving Throw Reflex negates; Spell Resistance yes
DESCRIPTION
You create two globes of lightning that fly in whichever direction you indicate. For every 4 caster levels above 7th, you create an additional globe of lightning (3 globes at 11th, 4 globes at 15th, to the maximum of 5 globes at 19th). These globes fly at a rate of 20 feet per round and have perfect maneuverability. Wind does not affect a flying sphere's course.
If a globe enters a space with a creature, it stops moving for the round and deals 3d6 points of electricity damage to that creature, though a successful Reflex save negates the damage. Creatures wearing metal armor take a -4 penalty on this Saving Throw.
Each globe moves as long as you actively direct it (it's a move action for you to direct all the spheres created by a single casting of this spell); otherwise they stay at rest. These globes have no mass and cannot push aside unwilling creatures or move solid objects. A ball lightning globe winks out if it exceeds the spell's range.

Oreana Del'Aandarth |
Thanks Elise! I actually remembered about the Blessing of Fervor but forgot that it added to attack! If I got it right, we must always save against the gaze attack in three distinct situations: once get into range; at the beginning of our turn (once for each gaze in range); and once the source decides to 'focus' the daze as an standard action... So the following three checks are for this (also not sure if the one on the back requires a save...).
Will Save DC 22, irrepressible, inspiring sword: 1d20 + 17 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 17 + 8 + 2 = 36
Will Save DC 22, irrepressible, inspiring sword: 1d20 + 17 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 17 + 8 + 2 = 30
Will Save DC 22, irrepressible, inspiring sword: 1d20 + 17 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 17 + 8 + 2 = 33
Once more, Oreana withstands the foul gaze of the aberrations and focus her attacks, trying to end their existence. To the Naga that tried to curse her, she replies. "Your cursed magic is not strong enough to pierce Heironeous' holy guard!"
Changing Blessing of Fervor bonus to an additional attack!
Attack#1 (longsword), heroes' feast, inspiring sword, power attack: 1d20 + 21 + 1 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 21 + 1 + 2 - 4 = 40 hit
Attack#1 Crit? (longsword), critical focus, heroes' feast, inspiring sword, power attack: 1d20 + 21 + 4 + 1 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 21 + 4 + 1 + 2 - 4 = 39 hit

Damage#1 (longsword), power attack: 1d10 + 11 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 11 + 8 = 21

Death-Lok |
Oreanna, I believe re-reading the gaze attack, you only save at the beginning of your turn and again if the creatures focuses it on you as a standard action.
Okay, lots of rolls...
Reflex saves for Flame Strike: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8...full damage
Reflex saves for Flame Strike: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23...full damage
Reflex save for Ball Lightning: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13...fail, damaged and dazed
Reflex save for Ball Lightning: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6...fail, damage and dazed
Reflex save for Ball Lightning: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20...fail, damage and dazed
Will apply Oreanna's critical attacks first then to Naga coming out of Daze.
It had suffered 56 damage + 46 + 44 = dead!
Second critical is applied then to newly dazed naga, who has taken 48+46= 94 damage!
The tunnel is rocked by Flame Strike and Ball Lightning, as the lone undazed naga yells for help! "Kill the elven caster! His magic confuses us!"
Round 5: Bad Guys' turn:
The lone worm naga moves past Kaydanna, incurring an AoO, and past the blind dwarf, who does not provoke and focuses her gaze on Ravarel! Oreanna hears cries of "Hold them off, we're coming!" from side tunnels, as she hears more naga approaching!
Kaydanna, take your AoO!
Ravarel, make a DC 22 Will save this Round.
Then on your turns, following people make following saves:
Oreanna: 2 DC 22 Will saves
Ravarel: 2 DC 22 Will saves
Elise averting: 1d100 ⇒ 29
Elise averting: 1d100 ⇒ 66
One Will save DC 22 from Elise
Kaydanna: 2 Will saves DC 22
Siggut: None
Then, party is up again! This is fun!

Elise Sunwake |
Remember the +2 to saves from inspiring sword! Additionally if that is a spell-like ability your dwarf stuff will come into play.. Besides You dont need int/cha to attack lol.. Also averting your eyes gives you a 50/50 chance at not having to roll at a cost of 20% miss chance.. 100% worth it imo..
Its not the heals im worried about.. Its the drooling party members that I cant fix today, well besides one. I dont have alot of offense lol..
Oreana Del'Aandarth |
Since they are under the effect of Ball Lightning and should be hit next round for additional damage, Oreana will leave the almost dead naga behind to charge the other one.

Oreana finishes yet another enemy and, seeing that the ball of conjured electricity will probably finish her, Oreana charges the other enemy, the one that moved past her. "You shall never turn your backs to a Knight of the Holy Shielding!"
Changing the Blessing of Ferver back to +2 Attack, AC and Saves. After the charge, Oreana will also activate her Inspiring Sword feat, renewing the 1 min duration!

Resisting wave after wave of foul energy, Rav concentrates (move action) on moving Ball#3 from the Dazed Naga next to Kaydanna to the one rushing past Siggut who's aiming that damn gaze at Rav
The other 2 balls Rav will leave alone so they can continue damaging and dazing their targets

BS2+PA: 1d20 + 9 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 9 + 2 + 2 = 15...DMG: 1d10 + 19 + 2d6 ⇒ (8) + 19 + (6, 3) = 36
her AC is 32 now... what is with these crappy rolls?
