You find yourself on Absalom Station and if you don't know what that is read the core rulebook.

The heroes don’t need to be acquainted with one another yet; though you may be if you want
you’ve all made arrangements to meet a dwarven Starfinder
named Duravor Kreel in Docking Bay 94. Kreel has promised
to show them around the station, help them get settled, and
facilitate their membership into the Starfinder Society

You were all passengers on the Okimoro which has just arrived at the station.

Feel free to roleplay out the journey to the station or the aftermath, as long as you all dot in. Oh important but you can't jump ahead to talking with the Dwarf, you will be unable to cause something has to happen first, in a sense, he'll come to you.

edit to be clear the first scene does not happen until I see who we have and who I need to cut. This is just free roleplaying right now in Absalom Station with Kreel not in sight yet.

DungeonMaster

Okay it seems there are exactly seven of you. I'll make something happen as soon as you all do in gameplay. Or rather technically the game will make something happen since I didn't write this, I'm just telling the story as is.

“Oh, my aching thorax! That was a most miserable trip.” utters K’Klacklun as he prepares to exit the Okimoro. “The shaking! The turbulence! Clearly, the guidance circuitry on the maneuvering thrusters must have been out of alignment, what else could have accounted for that awful waving motion? I say, were I ever to have the good fortune of caring for a starship of my own, I would most certainly not allow it to fall into such disrepair!” The slender shirren rubs a three-clawed hand over the back of is chitinous exoskeleton as he exits into the docking bay.

“What a most unpleasant way to travel! I’ve never experienced anything like it.” he says as he strides over to an adjacent corridor. He leans against a wall and removes his backpack. As he kneels down to reach inside it, he stops for a moment as if having a sudden revelation. I wonder if the pilot would be willing to take me for another jaunt… He ponders.

After a moment, he returns to his task. Reaching into the backpack he moves a small drone, insectoid in shape, sporting a green, metallic sheen. “Thank the Forever Queen that you made it in one piece!” K’Klacklun says to the drone as he activates it.

Looking around at the station's fixtures, K'Klacklun is awed by the amount of diversity found in just this small portion of the massive station. "Why, I can't imagine what I will run into next." he mutters.

Kozak opens his mouth wide in a yawn, revealing a mouth full of sharp teeth, scratching at the scales around his eyes with with one taloned finger as he lumbers to his feet. The Vesk stands nearly eight feet tall, his frame solidly muscled beneath the armor he wears, and one gets the impression that the doshko across his back has seen more than a little use.

"Unpleasant?" he asks of K'Klacklun upon hearing his exclamation about the ship's travel. "They might as well have been rocking us in a cradle and singing us lullabies. I don't think I've slept that well in weeks!"

K'Klacklun makes a clicking sound in response--a shirren equivalent to "hurumph"--before adding in a low, almost inaudible tone, "I suppose with a hide that thick, one could sleep almost anywhere."

I wonder if his skull is equally as thick. The shirren wonders, but with sufficient intelligence to not do so aloud. That vesk certainly looks dangerous. I would not want to run into him in a dimly-lit corridor... or anywhere else I suppose. The shirren continues to take in the sights of the vast station. Fortunately, in a station of this size, the probabilities of running into this creature again are almost certainly quite minimal.

@Kozak - K'Klacklun may be dismissive now, but I suspect the two will be quite the pair. Guess which of our characters is most like "Felix".

As he continues on, K'Klacklun overhears a sales pitch from an ysoki. "This Tasch sounds like quite the place." he says in response. "Do tell me more. What kind of establishments does the venue offer for a hard-thinking, insectoid technician like myself to unwind?"

Where others had the luxury of being uncomfortable, greagarious or other Tszck was a twitchy paranoid mess. Sticking to the relatively well armed group out of an iinstinctive desire to be part of the group. Not that it helped much.

Antennae twitched constantly as Tszck found himself counting the number of weapons, pistols mainly, that they were surrounded by.
Every ship that unloaded on the dock he felt even greater unease expecting vengeful former comrades or even more vengeful past victims to come out and overwhelm him in an oncoming tide of blood and violence.

Bedraggled and with clothes still bearing the ever present red dust of Akiton Tszck ended up here because a former client was more than a little grateful for a slightly used pair of legs. Thinking back that did happen from time to time. People who were at the edges of the law still lost limbs or went blind in the course of their work. going to a clinic would all but guaranteed they'd be enjoying their regained freedom of motion in a prison cell. The former client had some friends, who in turn had a friend, who could help him out. steady pay for honest work doing mostly what he had been doing for the past five years anyway. More, it would have him constantly moving about the galaxy, hard to pinpoint, hard to nail down. He wasn't at the point yet where he could think of it as a permanent solution but for now it would suffice.

Looking about he noted something aloud telepathically. "Where is he? Why is he late?"

A thirteen foot tall, long and spindly limbed creature unfolds itself as it exits the ship. This creature is covered in ceramic breastplate, shoulder guards, bracers, and greaves, an armor well known to be of Kasathan design. Its head is completely covered by the helmet save the slitted front revealing only its strange bulbous eyes. Seemingly in theme with the heavy armor this creature wears it has, strapped crossing across its back, a canon-like projectile weapon and a very long barreled rifle. On the inside of its leg it has a knife and it carries a backpack, worn backwards, on its chest.

The Sarcesian begins scanning Docking Bay 94, obviously looking for something, or someone.

Whether the Vesk mercenary hears the low comment from the Shirren is difficult to say. Perhaps he simply thinks getting subjected to the Ysoki's sales pitch is more than sufficient retaliation for any perceived slight? Either way, he turns his attention elsewhere, scanning those gathered that didn't disembark the ship.

Time to find out if Dalri was right about this Starfinder Society, I suppose. He got plenty of offers about potential work, and would have written this one off as nothing more than guarding a bunch of scientists, but as soon as he'd mentioned it, the girl had practically gone all starry-eyed, and even he had to admit, if half of the stories she'd told him about them were true, the work might actually be interesting.

K'Klacklun's contemplation of a potential investment in real estate is harshly interrupted by gunfire.

"Oh my! They are shooting at us!" the shirren cries. Fearing he has qindered into a gang war and concluding that neither side works for station security, K'Klacklun surmises that his best strategy is to look for cover and the contact the authorities. Though he relishes opportunities to choose, he does not easily overcome his ancient insectoid genetics in times of crises.

K'Klacklun runs directly south instead of east or west to be way out of the way and none of the gangs thinks he is a worthy target.
The gangs are up
other gang or party: 1d2 ⇒ 2 1 is party, 2 is gang
other gang or party: 1d2 ⇒ 1
other gang or party: 1d2 ⇒ 1
And the 3 people from the other gang obviously won't target the party. Both gangs are of equal power. It is a free action to speak, Af'val and Zefram both saw them, so either can speak up to choose sides. Did Downside Kings fire at you, or did level 21 Crew shoot at you? That depends upon your response.

gang that hates you: 1d6 ⇒ 3 to determine which party member they target in alphabetal order, K'Klacklun and his bug are no go on that, it skips over him since he is not fighting this.
The 2nd member will focus fire
The 3rd member fires at the other gang.
Edit: a 3 was rolled, in alphabetical order that is Kozak

If I'm doing things wrong, let me know, it is my first time Dming Starfinder. As far as I know you'd take double damage from the crit then an additional 1d4 from burn damage.

gang member on your side got shot for dmg: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
This is all fire damage in case someone has a resistance of some kind

If there were cover readily available, having just taken a hit like that, Kozak might very well seek it out. With none all that close at hand, that really only gives one good option -- take down the enemy before he goes down himself. Still burning from the laser hit, he lets out a roar of challenge, and charges the closest of the Downside Kings that shot him, covering the distance in almost no time at all, drawing his doshko as he goes, and bringing the massive blade down with all his might when he gets close enough. "Egg licker," he snarls derisively, although the implications of cowardice and dishonor -- that the gang member is a scavenger that doesn't even have the courage to try and steal eggs from the clutch, much less hunt for prey that actually might fight back -- may not translate well into common.

Attacking primarily on instincts of self-preservation, K’Klacklun obtains cover. However, once he is safe, he has time to gather his wits. ”Those…those…” the gregarious shirren suffers a momentarily loss of words, before arriving upon, Thugs! They are harming innocent passengers and bystanders! They set that poor vesk on fire! No matter what his threshold for pain may be, that has got to be unpleasant.

K’Klacklun retrieves his custom rig from his backpack and attempts to contact the station authorities via the station’s emergency reporting system. ”Hello? Hello?! Is anyone there? This is K’Klaclun! There are beings. And they are shooting! Oh, the horror! Please come quickly!” he cries.
Retrieving handheld custom rig is a move action. Rig can be used as a Mk 1 comm unit.

The drone attempts to move to just the edge of close range for its weapon, which is 30 feet. The drone can move up to 30 feet per round, so it should be able to do so if the gang members are only about 50 feet away from K'Klacklun.

Once in range, the drone fires a shot from its mounted pulsecaster at the dazed gang member.

Ranged attack (pulsecaster pistol): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Damage (E/NL): 1d4 ⇒ 1

Suddenly finding himself in the middle of a crossfire Tszk throws himself to the ground instinctually and fires at the group putting lasers in their general direction.

Go prone. Fire at undazed downside king.

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
1d8 ⇒ 3

DungeonMaster

The bug hits a Downside King, normally that particular one would have cover, but the bug has moved south the end that doesn't have provide cover and he hits him in the leg
TszK misses his shot.

Wheeler moves into position and tries to make like he is shooting his weapon at one of the gangers, perhaps the one that K'Klackun is working.

Yes that's right buddy. I am going to shoot your kneecap. Feels it trembling, your kneecaps on the wall. You'll live life as a one legged freak. Think about it

And the Bug kills that gang member as the pistol hits through the stomach. I think you meant undazed since you fired at that earlier
Daze wears off I think, so last one fires at Crew 21 hit: 6 + 1d20 ⇒ 6 + (15) = 21 dmg: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 ouch, that was in the chest, but he is still alive
Crew 21 members fire back hit: 6 + 1d20 ⇒ 6 + (12) = 18 and hit: 6 + 1d20 ⇒ 6 + (16) = 22 dmg: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 1) + 2 = 7 and the last Downside king gets hit once in the chest and once in the leg.
Round 2 All heroes are up, 1 enemy left, you can reach melee if you want.

@ GM - Technically, the gang member is unconscious, unless there is more going on than I realize, because the pulsecaster pistol can only do non-lethal damage. K'Klacklun is generally unwilling to kill and would probably freak out if he thought he was responsible for another beings death (unlike some of my other PCs).

Tszk takes the shot even as the gunfire dies down not expecting the sudden pile-up of bodies to result in any kind of parley.

Okay, so that one is knocked out and Keijon delivers a shot right to the neck killing him.
Combat over
Then you see a figure to the south just outside the station in the distance fire a shoot at Kreel. You can't identify him, he is too far away. This figure leaves and disappears out of sight. Kreel is shot in the head and falls to the floor. The Crew 21 leaves. Well downside Kings is eliminated, we own this territory now. What about that sniper out in the distance. We don't know who that is, lets not get involved, mission is complete. And then they leave.
Kreels body is on the floor, he was shoot in the back of the head.

K'Klacklun feels overjoyed by the successful "sting" rendered by his B.U.G., "It is all working so perfectly! The villains are being routed! What a wonderful turn of even..." The shirren stops mid-sentence as he hears the shot in the distance and witnesses his dwarven contact fall to the ground.

"By the Forever Queen! Someone has shot Duravor! Oh, what horror!" he cries, looking around wildly in an attempt to determine from where the shot came originated and trying to ascertain whether he could be the next victim.

Then, overcoming his momentary shock, the shirren seems to suddenly recall that he has been the recipient of some medical training. Stowing the pistol that he had retrieved just moments earlier, he races over to the injured dwarf and attempts to ascertain the victim’s health and render any aid that he can.

I assume that Duravor is already dead, but if not, K’Klacklun will attempt to stabilize him. Medicine (First-Aid): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 However, he fails to make the DC check of 15.

“Oh, curse my frugality in choosing not to even purchase a basic medkit before embarking on my journey here! And at the time it has seemed like such an exhilarating choice!” K’Klacklun cries out. Looking over at the rest of his fellow shuttle passengers, the shirren yells out, cradling the dwarf’s body in his three-clawed hands, barely able to keep it together, ”Can any of you provide assistance? Is there not a single a healer among you? Oh, the misfortune of it! I was sent to meet this man and now he is dying!”

Although shot twice and set on fire, Kozak is still on his feet, if rather the worse for wear. And speaking of fire, putting himself out becomes his top priority once the shooting stops, so he, at least, doesn't even notice the sniper or the fate of Kreel.

If one were interested in such things, one might pick up more than a few colorful turns of phrase in Vesk listening to him, though it certainly wouldn't be something one would want to repeat in polite company.

After patting himself down, and putting out the fire, Zefram frowns.

What now? Ah, yes, relief, mixed with concern.

After a few seconds, he breathes a sigh of relief.

"Well, glad I am that that is over. It is concerning that Kreel was killed by a mystery sniper, though..."

Zefram then quickly rifles through the pockets of the downed Downside Kings, looking for clues (and anything immediately salvageable).

Following that, he then nods to Kreel's body.

"We should get that to Society. They will know what to do..."

Try as the others might, they cannot save Kreel, the one downside king is still unconscious. Zefram's face looks blank for a moment, when the officers begin their interrogation.

Appropriate emotional response? Anxious politeness.

"It was horrible, officer! We had just gotten off the transport, and were about to meet our contact, when those two gangs started fighting! Then, one of the Downside Kings took a shot at us, so we defended ourselves. I am just glad it is over - it's hardly the reception you hope to have when you arrive on Absalom Station!"
