FYI, I'm changing my avatar for this PC, since I was never happy with the B&W sketch, but also not happy with any of the other choices at the time. I think this one is a better portrait.
Also, Slidell, did you mean to put that in the discussion thread?

In the face of Patrick's announcement, any annoyance at delays seems and feels relatively trivial. I hold no ill-will and harbor nothing but condolences on my end.
In order to relieve pressure on Patrick, perhaps he falls down a sewer vent or something and can rejoin later at whatever point in the story we are currently pursuing. Goodness knows he must have enough on his mind then to figure out this character. On the flipside, if this is an avenue for which you, Patrick, would like to use for any escape needed, far be it from me to deny you; and I hope to see you as active as you desire to be.

Hey all
I think under the circumstances I'm going to have to bow out of this game. I have a lot going on, and I kind of want to channel myself towards the games I GM which I have been neglecting. I am still rather emotionally unstable, so I am going to be a fairly unreliable member of the group. Apologies all around, and have Amadeo sneak off to find his familiar a bandage or something
Best of luck going forward, and many thanks for all your kind thoughts
-Patrick

I would like to apologize for my lack of enthusiastic posting recently.
Even though my 'busy' season is supposedly over, I am still busy with work, as well as involved with 2 shows in production together. As well as, well, more on that once I find out what's going on. :/
Anyways, by the time I actually get home and have time, I simply have not had the energy or enthusiasm to post on all my threads. I just wanted to make sure everyone knows this is entirely due to me, and has nothing to do with the games. :) Which I am still love and desire to participate in.
My apologies, please bear with me and I shall endeavor to be more lively. :)

Don't apologize. The slowness in this thread is all me. I try to bring everything home and work on it, only to find out that I failed to copy an important post and don't know the status of one of the actors. Then I get it the next day but forgot my storage key... etc.
The good news is, after August 4th, I should have constant internet connecation and be able to get this puppy revved back up. It has not been a fun time, but many of you have been enduring much worse. You have my gratitude for your patience and my admiration for your strength, as well as all my good wishes that things improve for you. <3

Hey all, just wanted to let you guys know I received my own version of bad news/good news this week.
Bad news- looks like I have Kidney cancer.
Good news- Thanks to me being a complete wuss, :) we discovered it very early (as they measure these things) so it is able to be removed, (Leaving me most of my kidney) and I have a 95% recovery chance. I plan to get this taken care of in early September.
So, I'm still in shock/denial/prayer mode. Ergo my recent distractions. Coupled with my busy-ness with the upcoming shows,...
Yeah, I haven't been a solid poster recently. Sorry.
Just wanted to repeat that any recent silence(s) from me is strictly due to schedule and personal stuff, and not from anything game related. I am still in, and still excited about all my threads. PLease forgive any silent days days on my part, and I promise to be as consistent as I can.
Thanks all,
~Rags

I'm only moving across town, and I have a month to do it in dribs and drabs, and I STILL hate it.
Moving.
S#cks.Especially for those of us who are packrats.
Even for those packrats with enough intelligence to admit that they have never seen (much less USED) something from a box in at least 10 years, because we still refuse to dispose of it due to some sappy sentimental reason, or because they cling to the eternal optimism that 'It might be needed someday!'.
;P

My goal is to get rid of nearly everything I own. Simplify, simplify!
Honestly, I have too much and I don't keep it organized or even know what's there. I'd rather have a few really nice things than a bunch of stuff I toss in a box and never look at. It is embarrassing how many gift cards I've found while packing, none of them used.
Hard as it is to get rid of it all, I just don't need stuff. I've asked people to stop giving me presents, too. PDF's are fine - easy to organize and rather light to carry. Books - I'm keeping a few special ones but the library will be my, uh, library.
Ragadolf |
MAn I wish I could do that.
I just cannot let go of my books.
Yes, most of mine I have actually read more than once, but still,... I have 4 tall bookshelves, (and 1 short one) and they do not come close to holding all of my books and gaming books.
(Maybe if they only had to hold my novels. They would come closer, but still,... no.) ;P
ANd yet who is the first one in line at every library book sale?!?
THIS guy! ;)
GM Treppa |
We have our moving sale tomorrow, then are packing and selling big stuff Sunday/Monday/Tuesday, then will be moving (driving) Wednesday and possibly Thursday, depending if we make enough during the sale for both gas and a hotel room.
We'll try to check in from time to time, but may not be around until Thursday, particularly with the short library hours on Saturday and Sunday.

Lol, Awesome,
Hey, the move and all went well I take it from your FAWTL-y posts?
Just let me know, I'll be having surgery (on 9/11 of all dates, go figure. Only me man, only me) :)
So I'll be having a few days to a couple of weeks at home for a change. During my periods of lucidness, I'll be happy to catch back up on my PBP's! :)
See everyone soon(ish)?

Good to hear that you have a date for the surgery. I'm sure everything will go well but sending you positive waves anyway.
But you're gonna have periods of lucidity? :P

Rags is the only person I know who might become more lucid on painkillers. Hang in there, man. Anticipation is awful, IMO. It's nice to get moving and get stuff over with.
The move went well enough. There was really very little we could fit into our two cars beyond personal items, some clothes, computers, and my store paperwork. All the rest is gone: books, jewelry, music, craft supplies, kitchenware, tools, etc. The really painful part is not having stuff I need: my Nook cable, for example. :/ Maybe it will show up in a box somewhere. Until then, the Nook is a brick.
But I do have the gaming stuff and my computer works, so I need to update here and get us on the path out of the sewers again.

Man, moving stinks.
I don't know which is worse, having to move with all of my junk, or NOT having my junk when I move!
I'm just going to stay in this house until I die, or it burns down.
Or I win the lottery. then I can afford to hire movers.
:)
Thanks for the well-wishes, I'm sure it will be fine. But it will be nice to get it over and done with!
Lucid? hmmm,... probably not.
MORE lucid on the painkillers? ??? Maaaaaaaaybe,... ;)
As long as they don't give me morphine. That stuff does NOT work (On me at least) It does NOT dull pain. It simply makes you not give a $#!t. But it does give me a migraine.
NO MORPHINE! ;P
