Almost done,... Almost,...

Unfortunately had to do a children's show this morning, (Slim Goodbody) and loading in/setting up/tech'ing the next children's musical, (Honk, the musical of the ugly duckling)

So, still busy. But I'll get there! :)

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Email sent to your PM Treppa. I will work on getting Amadeo fleshed out.

Well,... Chicken Nuggets,... ;P

I just realized that at least a spell (or two) is not from Paizo/PFRPG. I have a few selections I carried over from the original Slidell, including spells from the 'Magic Compendium', (3.0 I think) So I need to totally go over my spell list. And what I had planned for a few early magic items as well. :(

Good bye 'Beneficial Translocation' Spell! ;)

I presume that any Paizo product/spells are ok? (You did say no 3pp) I know of a couple that aren't on the spell lists of the hardcovers, but are found in the AP's.

Getting through Tech for 'HONK' (the Ugly Duckling as a musical), See you all soon!

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Paizo core is definitely OK, but if it's not in the PRD, I need to check it out. These spells are OK, for the most part. There are some I don't like, but they're core, so I put up with them. Grrr.

Heheh,...

Actually, I'd be interested at some point to learn which ones you aren't fond of, and why.

But the ones I'm referring to are ones I have found aren't even combat spells. I'll copy them from D20pfsrd here;

Spoiler:

1st Level

Pattern Recognition
School transmutation; Level sorcerer/wizard 1
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S
Range personal
Target you
Duration 10 min./level
Pattern recognition allows you to notice unusual breaks in the patterns of stones in a wall, boards in a floor, cracks in glass, trees in a forest, or similar interruptions. You gain an insight bonus equal to one-half your caster level (minimum +1, maximum +10) on Search checks.
You gain the same bonus on Survival checks made to follow tracks. Pattern recognition does not grant you the Track feat, a rogue’s trapfinding ability, or the ability to disable traps. You can use it in conjunction with those abilities if you possess them, though.
Source: Pathfinder Companion: Second Darkness (OGL)

2nd Level

Raiment of Command
School illusion (glamer); Level bard 2, sorcerer/wizard 2
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S
Range personal
Target you
Duration 1 hour/level
Saving Throw Will; Spell Resistance no

You are cloaked in an illusion of authority. others perceive you to be a legitimate figure of authority—a higher-ranking official, a religious figure, a more powerful warrior. this illusion grants you a +5 bonus on all Diplomacy and intimidate checks. if you attempt to disguise yourself as a specific authority figure, you gain a +10 competence bonus on the Disguise check and any Bluff check related to impersonating that authority figure.
In addition, others are uncomfortable acting against you. creatures with an intelligence of 4 or more must make a Will save or take a –2 penalty on all opposed checks against you.
Source: Pathfinder #5—Rise of the Runelords Chapter 5: "Sins of the Saviors" (OGL)

As you can see, very useful, but not even related to combat. (Unless you count 'social combat' as in Dresden Files game)
:)

I tend to use the D20PFSRD website myself. The 'official' Paizo site is great, But I find navigating and finding things to be easier on the other site. For me at least.

The funny thing is, the D20PFSRD site lists the class spells lists exactly the same as the Paizo site, but they also have all of the extraneous spells, feats, etc from the AP's. They just list them in the 'master' Alphabetical list, so you kind of have to hunt for them if you don't already know about them. ;P

Thanks! :D

How is everything coming along?

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Well, my Hero Lab was loaded on the computer that keeps blue screening on me. *sigh*. I need to recreate my guy

Aw man, sorry. ;P

Maybe while recreating him, you can make him stronger, faster, better than before! :)

<Cue slow motion running and 'nahnahnah' sound effects>

When do you think you'll be ready to roll Patrick and Ragadolf?

RPG Superstar 2012

I'm ready!

1d20 ⇒ 3

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

I will be ready today. I did a Robo-satanic ritual and brought my old computer back to life. Stats will be copied over today!

MWAH-HA-HAAA

I hope you didn't lose too much of your soul for that, Patrick. Computers are notoriously diabolical.

And woo-hoo!

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

OMFG I just spent two hours inputting the data and the Post Monster ATE MY ALIAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!

AUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

JUST SHOOT ME NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WTF DOES "YOU BACKTRACKED TOO FAR" EVEN MEAN???!!?? AUUUUUGH!

O.O

Oh NO! You can copy/paste from Herolab for the stats if you want.

I know from past experience when creating PbP aliases, I format all the stats offline and then copy/paste the whole block into my profile. It's the only way to preserve one's sanity.

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

@Treppa: Do you know how? I couldn't copypasta off the portfolio, so I was switching windows and typing it in manually.

@CH: *sigh* I have all the info still in HL, I just have to re-enter it all. Plus, it has split my HP into 'Vigor and Wounds' and I can't figure out how to unbork it...

No, I've seen stat blocks that look like they are copied from HL. See Damien's profile, which I think was generated thereby. I don't have Herolab so can't help. :'(

EDIT: From a friend: FILE>OUTPUT HERO STATBLOCK

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

HA! I just found that M'Self. I'm done!!

I'm almost done.

No. Really,... ;P

Just been busy lately (Like loading in a Kids Mardi Gras Krewe by myself today, all my workers were 'unavailable') ;P

I was toying wioth a few things, but SLi is going with standard Wiz, I just need to pick new spells since half his old ones were from other 3.5 sources.

And I might change his name, but keep the alliteration. :)

So,... soon,... very soon?!? :)

MWAH-HA-HAAA

OK, so to summarize:

  • taig: Camris Findlespur, halfling paladin
  • Patrick: Amadeo Pontillix, tiefling witch
  • Celestial Healer: Araxus Nestarsian, human conjurer
  • pinvendor: Damien Rhomanos, human bard
  • Ragadolf: Slidell Storm-Raven, human wizard

Kind of stomper-light, but you'll have a bench of utility players to draw from if you need some heavies in the game.

I think I need backstories from Amadeo and Slidell. I'm working up PM's for everyone else right now!

Plus, Araxus's specialty is calling on beasties to fight up close and personally. That may help a bit in terms of providing some barrier between the foes and the casters.

Cool!
What do you still need from Me Treppa?
(UM, besides a finished PC I mean) ;P

I thought we had cleared up (and gave me many new ideas) in the PM's
:)
I'm on Mardi Gras break for the next 3 days. Spending time with family, parades et al, but should have time to finish and be ready to go when you are!
Just let me know what, if anything, you still need background-wise.

And, An interesting group. A paladin, a bard, and 3 magikers of dubious intention. Did the paladin join us just to keep an eye on us?!? ;P

6/9 Max | Init +1, Perception +5

Wait, wait, wait...a paladin?? O_o

Ack! Damien is in troubles!

Male Halfling Paladin 1 {Init +0, Perception +4, HP 10/10}

I'm sure there are greater evils for me to worry about.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

I'm not so sure about that.

RPG Superstar 2012

Ummmm...so I have a character who won't fit, then? Should I go with a different character?

Legendary Merchant of Pins

Hopefully, Treppa was just trying to be funny...hopefully...?

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Definitely not. This will be a blast.

Really, it will be good to have a paladin. Almost everybody in the party is morally ambiguous. This AP is very much about moral choices and it's best to have somebody to speak for the forces of Good.

I anticipate a fun game.

RPG Superstar 2012

Okee dokee. You had me worried there. :)

AN-tic-a-pa-a-a-tion! :D

NAw, I don't see any worries with this group.

Now, if you were to play PC's alignments like some others I've met, (Like 'Lawful Stupid', or 'Chaotic Idiocy') then perhaps. But I've seen you guys in action, I'm not worried.

To tell the truth, until now I hadn't noticed the alignments on any of the PC's. I was just reading the backgrounds and thinking 'That is so cool! Why can't I think up stuff like that?' :)

Heck, I think if Slidell bites it, (Hopefully not! But he is a bit fragile,... and tends to stick his nose in where it doesn't belong.) ;P
I was thinking of having a Paladin of Caydin Calladain (Sp?) as a backup. :) That just sounds like a fun kind of Pally to play. Especially in a city famous for Hellknights and other social challenges. :D

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Morally ambiguous is Amadeo's middle name

I haven't written everything down yet, but Amadeo's past revolves around Westcrown's docks. He was mentored by a witch who was a fortune teller and he acted as her shill. He was also a petty thief and an assistant pressganger.

Male Human Conjurer (Infernal Binder) 1 {Init +2, HP 1/8, AC 12}

Araxus flat-out consorts with devils. So, yay!

So,

The Good, The Bad, and The Undecided? ;)

I can work with that! :D

6/9 Max | Init +1, Perception +5

Damien is simply out for himself and his sister and unconcerned with anyone else's pitiful lives. His Neutral Evil alignment really just showcases his uncaring disdain and willingness to do anything to stay on top. He's more or less a typical noble, but one without any conscience whatsoever. I don't think Westcrown society could breed anything else really...

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Honestly, there's a lot of that about, but there are people who fight against the darkness, or at least try to avoid it.

Westcrown is the home of a strong undercurrent of resistance to Asmodeus. People go to temple like they are supposed to, but they worship others at household shrines. Most of the worship is of Iomedae, one of the Seven Founders of Aroden's faith, or a traditional deity of the families.

Indeed, two notable paladins reside here: one, the head of a high noble family; the other, the ambassador from Taldor who refuses to reside in devil-haunted Egorian.

Silver Crusade

Male Celestial Cleric of Myself 10/Radiant Servant of Me 10

I'm looking forward to this game, and can't wait to start!

ARRRGH!
<Mind goes 'POP!'>

I've just had an epiphany.

I have spent WAY too long agonizing over miniscule details of this PC.
Seriously. This week I have spent more time worrying about his PC than my own kids. Not good.
;P

FOrtunately I got to spend a little time with my son today.
Jumped on the trampoline, played a little SW Battlefront, watched a little TV, I fell better now. ;)

OK, Slidell is what he is. If I want to play something else, I'll make another PC! :P

I will re-write his background Treppa, integrating the things we've discussed. (hopefully tonight) and making it less of a collection of notes. :)

One semi important question remains, How detailed are you with the illusion rules Treppa? I was thinking of taking a few illusion spells (Which I used to use all the time in 1st & 2nd Ed) but I've noticed they've broken them up into 'figments' and 'glamours', and that they still all seem to do what ONE 1st level spell used to do back in the old days. ;P

Can't wait! see you all soon!

And Happy Belated Birthday Treppa! :D

Human

Well, here he is. ;P

I went with a slightly different set of spells than I usually do. Time to see if I'm as clever as I think I am. :)

The Exchange

Come on lads. I have lurked for weeks waiting for you lot to give me a great game! With Rags and Pat it should be a laugh.

Cheers

All is well, family growing like weeds and mother-in-law visiting on a break so I get posting time. You seem purdy busy?

Glad to hear it.
Pretty much the same here.
(Kids aren't getting any smaller, that's for sure!) ;P

Yeah, campus is being torn apart for 'improvements' so I catch all the overflow, like I wasn't already (over) booked. ;P

Stay well, hope to catch you around.

And enjoy the show! :)

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

FW! Great to see you buddy.

Slidell:

And you Pat. You are living the dream - running games, family and playing too. Well done mate. Looking forward to what your crazy gaming.

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

LOL. My situation dictates that I am housebound frequently. This is my outlet. It beats heavy drinking =D

MWAH-HA-HAAA

FYI, players:

You have each received PM's setting up your introduction to the AP. Once we complete our PM sequences, I'll post the first couple of gameplay threads and we'll get rolling.

Woo!
