I'd like a paragraph or two but I will reward extra stuff that I can bring in later.
Extra stuff about Interrogator Nethial Hobbs Risedar III:
-Trusted throne agent and spymaster for an undisclosed Lord Inquisitor of the Calixis sector
-Rumoured to command from the bridge of an imperial void ship
-You are just one of many cells that he has set up throughout the sector
-The vast majority of his communications with you are done via encrypted vox
-He is not a psyker
-His information network is vast providing you with access to large amounts of necessary data
-His name has popped up as footnotes and in the margins of investigations by the Arbites for over one hundred years

While a season member of the Arbites, Jacques never seemed to rise higher than his ranking as an investigator, even in his old age. This may inevitably have proved a boon as the upper echelons of the Adeptus Arbites on Harna VII became wrapped up, whether intentionally or unknowingly, in a crime racket for the transportation of heretical tomes and materials from some of the more crucial worlds in the sector.
In his investigations, Jacques learned of these machinations and felt determined to stop them, or die trying. He was beaten to the punch however, as the Interrogator Nethial Hobbs Risedar III tracked the racket to its source on Harna VII and killed all those responsible, even eliminating some of the less responsible pawns in the scheme for their unwitting involvement. The lone investigator who sought to fight against the crime was brought before the man for "interrogation" and was almost executed too. Jacques, however, managed to convince the interrogator of his skills, his loyalty to the Emporer and his steadfast devotion to the truth underlying all things, all heresy and all crime in the galaxy. After this encounter, the Interrogator decided to take Jacques on as part of his entourage.

Nicodemus Zarkov |

Background complete and profile almost finalized. Still need to fill in more about his description and personality.
Nicodemus grew up in the the serene pastoral fields of the backwater world of Orbel Quill in the Calixis Sector. An orphan, he barely survived as an unwanted outcast by keeping his head down and trying his best to go generally unnoticed. However, early in life he learned he could calm aches and pains and heal the sick and wounded. Nicodemus stopped hiding, and grew to become a respected, if sometimes feared, member of his small town. But as much as he liked his new-found popularity, he knew that he was fighting a losing battle. No amount of his healing powers could save anyone from the world's notorious 'death threshold'. He watched in terror as he aged, his own time running short. Fortunately, just before his fortieth birthday, one of the Inquisition's Black Ships arrived on Orbel Quill to claim its tithe. Where most latent psykers fear the ominous ships, Nicodemus practically ran onto the vessel.
The journey to Terra was harrowing and terrifying, but on the journey Nicodemus truly found his faith in the Emperor. In the cramped confines of the ships holds, surrounded by his fellow psykers succumbing to madness or dying from the conditions, and with the darkness of the Warp just kept at bay by the ships Gellar Field, Nicodemus clinged to the one thing that could keep him safe. Perhaps it is this that allowed him to survive his Sanctioning.
Fresh from Terra, Nicodemus expected to be sent to aid the Imperial Guard, but was surprised to find himself put to use in the service of the Inquisition. He knows little of his patron, or the organisation in general. Yet he knows he will do what he must to sere the Emperor and Imperium.

The Goblin |

Ok I am assuming you have read some of the 40k novels?
My character is a middle aged member of the Arbites through an administratum error he is dispatched and assigned to the group. He is a street veteran his parents were a techno priest and an administrator. He was never good at math or spelling, but he had sharp eyes and enjoyed hunting the most dangerous game, men. So he joined the force. Over the years he has taken his licks and is a lot less idealistic than he was, but he has a strong sense of street justice and has seen that the struggle of good against evil is a tangible thing.
Although he is comfortable with tech he has more trust in the simple like a good 12 gauge and a heavy stub pistol carried cocked and locked.
He carries with him bullet wounds, a fused vertebrae that gives him occasional reminders of its presence and the nameplate of his fallen partner.
His lifestyle was fun with nightclubs and women and drinking in his 20s, but now that he is closer to 40 he realizes his life has become stagnant and stationary. His sudden accidental reassignment may be just the thing he was looking for in his life. A chance to be something more and use his skills for something greater than busting a hive wide crime ring.

Note: Just let me know if I'm too late.
Ok, got the book and re-reading now. I'm kinda leaning toward a feral world assassin.

Let me know if any of this does not mesh well with the group. If acceptable, I will create an alias for this, populate the skills, and start creating a background.

DM - ARC |

looks good Kydeem.
So we have:
Arbitrator / Jacques Equus / Rasputin17
Assassin / ??? / Kydeem
Psyker / Nicodemus Zarkov / LordHector
Scum / Octus Cammilus / Fusebox
Tech-priest / Occux Niil / Spazmodeus
??? / ??? / The goblin
I won't be accepting any more applications
You can swap your weapon if you can pay the difference
shotgun -> autogun = 40 thrones
alternatively you could take a stub automatic (pistol) and get 10 back
or if proficient a switching your shotgun for a lasgun would only cost you 15

I rolled this in the sci fi interest thread. No wonder no one commented.

This is my first time playing this game. I have the book which I preordered ( back in 2007 Yikes!), but like ARC no one seemed interested in scifi just elves and orcs and stuff. So I am very much looking forward to trying something new.
Since I was invited to the party late I don't want to step on any toes. I made up an Arbities type, but if that chafes I could play a guardsman because it looks like I have good scores for that especially with my rerolled divination.

DM - ARC |

higher tiers wouldn't be so bad but until the classes split I'd be too worried that you would be the same.
it wouldn't take much to adjust your background to fit a guardsmen
classes open are adept, cleric and guardsmen (not particularly fond of either version of the adeptus sororitas)
Lets try Fusebox's suggestion of -5 BS short burst and -10 BS full auto
I'm helping build a charity haunted house tonight but if I finish early enough the game will start, if not it'll be tomorrow night at the latest

DM - ARC |

arbiter has more investigation and knowledge stuff, they're cops from detective to riot and SWAT while guardsmen are soldiers so they have survival skills, lots of combat and some leadership stuff.
adepts are scholars and intellectuals, they range from archivists to scientists and doctors basically they get lots of knowledge skills at the cost of limited combat

The Goblin |

I found this summary amusing
In the first published roleplaying game, Dark Heresy, the gamemaster (GM) serves as an Inquisitor, while the players create characters that serve as acolytes of the Inquisition. As the title suggests, the setting is very dark and very violent. The Inquisition in Dark Heresy is a secretive religious organization that helps guard humankind from various forms of what it considers heresy: mutation, witchery, and Daemonic corruption.
Player characters (PCs) can choose from a wide variety of classes and backgrounds, but their purpose remains the same: upholding the order and fundamental values of the Inquisition. Some Dark Heresy players have jokingly described the characters in the setting as Catholic space Nazis who are the good guys only when compared to the other threats of the galaxy. This is a fairly accurate description, as player characters are expected to exterminate any aliens who have the audacity to not be human, any humans who defy the Imperial Creed, any people with psychic powers who have not been sanctioned by the Imperium, and anyone who has been corrupted by the forces of Chaos.
Investigation, intrigue, and bloody battles are all a part of an average Dark Heresy gaming session. While players may be used to more forgiving settings that try hard not to kill PCs, Dark Heresy is a very punishing game where characters often face grim fates and may end up horribly disfigured if not killed outright.

Jacques Equus |

Okay, guys, I'm going to have to give fair warning here. I'm going to get hit by a hurricane soon, say around Monday night-Tuesday. There is a fairly good chance, as this also happened the year before with Irene, that I'm going to lose power for about a week. This does not mean it'll be impossible to post, but it will get more difficult. If and when my college gets back up and running I'll be able to go there and post. That's, most probably, also where I'll be doing my homework. The same goes for my local public library.
I'm just letting you guys know that my post quantity will likely diminish greatly over the coming week.
