Just a heads up, I'm leaving town tomorrow and I'll be back on Sunday. I'll check the game but if I start to hold things up feel free to bot me.
Does the carriage moving completely negate what 'Anneca' is trying to do? Will 'she' have to start over with another skill check?

I will say that it doesn't negate what Anneca & Jesselle are doing currently, so a success will have an impact on keeping the carriage from going over for an unspecified amount of time. I may ask for a second check success though to make it effectively permanent.

GM Vord, in one FA round, can Willem run to K9 and then get in the prone or kneeling position using the rock cropping along L6-L14 and still see the Kell Musketeer at P-4 with of course the cover?

Yep I think that works. I count 25' move-action to K9 (when accounting for maneuvering on the road), with Willem having up to 30' move in his chain shirt. Dropping prone is free action, which gives Willem a shot possibility using standard action.
At K9 Willem would have the benefit of standard cover, as well as the added AC ranged bonus from prone, making him a pretty difficult target. Kell musketeer is just within 40' range, having AC 18 touch behind the tree.

Posting soon

Tobias Utegg |

Will have my post up hopefully sometime this coming afternoon. Been working a lot of over time this week so I've had little time to update my games here on the boards. Sorry for the delay.

DM Vord |

My post would have been up already but the maps are not loading. I've been waiting to see if they'd come up but for some reason I can't access them. Tried them on my phone too and the images are coming up broken.
Hmm...well it's very possible when you tried this there was some issue with the postimage.org site that I use to host all the images. I didn't check yesterday as I was just looking at the Maptool app on my own PC. However I have checked PostImage this morning and it's up - all url links work for maps on both my mobile as well as my PC, both current map and samples going back to the Coaltongue fight.
EDIT: Their site talks about some issues they have been having with PayPal and the need to host their services on a more affordable platform, so I get the feeling they may have been doing some technical maintenance or data migrations in the last 24 hours.

I will post at the latest 11/10/2016 PM night, I am in training and finding it difficult posting a meaningful post.

Okay Anderlorn, thanks for the discussion tab update as I was needing to sort that out today. I'm holding for Willem's action tonight before conducting the actions of the NPC's in Round 6.
Ya know, reload and take that stooge out down there and the encounter is won for ya!

Willem Muhnee |

In the middle of posting now.

Willem Muhnee |

Jess, did you heal me or fire an arrow or both? If heal or both, how many hit points did you heal Willem?

DM Vord |

I believe that was a text carried over from the prior round, so no healing was done in Round 6. Willem is at 11/20 (-12+8-5) still, with Jesselle taking a (missed) shot and then moving.
Also just a reminder that the musketeer is behind cover and so you have to add that in - he's effectively AC 22 / AC 18 touch from anyone on the switchback ridge.

Willem Muhnee |

DM Vord, did the Kell Musketeer expose himself when he attacked Gemma?

Willem Muhnee |

Roger, just making sure ... :-)

DM Vord |

Well gang, a month-long combat encounter is finally over. Though it went longer than I had thought, the PC's have scored a resounding victory in both the combat and challenge encounter components. Morena will be rescued from the carriage well before it falls, and you have both Kell-guild captives as well as the goodwill of the Cloudwood brigand's leader for saving his life and rescuing his lover.
So let's see what you all do with it - the following scene is not a challenge encounter, but your words count in how you deal with this social scene. You are heavily outnumbered, so even the boldest of you would know that combat at this point would lead to your defeat and/or deaths. I'm intrigued to see how you will collectively handle it.
As a reminder, please do your parts to follow 'Vord's PbP Posting Habits' that I mentioned earlier in Discussion Tab, and also can be found on the DM Vord profile.
I am looking forward to this group making the most out of this mystery-adventure and moving towards a desired 3rd character level! To do that however, at least two of the three main mystery threads must be achieved on your way to solving the murder of Nilasa Hume...the final completion of this second Zeitgeist AP module will put you into 4th level.

I had to make a quick trip out of town. I get back late Sunday so I'll be posting monday

DM Vord |

Hi All - had a little bit of a posting setback yesterday and this morning, but looking to get your dialogue with Nevard going later today after some business errands.
Hello Everyone - my sincere apologies for the long delay in posting last week. The good news is that I am back on track and excited to carry on - I think you'll find a lot you can work with in this latest post by Nevard to all of you. I am renewing my commitment to be posting daily/nightly to any of your posted dialogue for this scene, so have fun!

Fethryth Teldanona |

I have to leave town to help my BFF as her mom is in the hospital. I don't know how long I'll be gone for; at least until monday but beyond that I'm not sure. I'll check in when I can but please bot me as needed

"That it would Tobias, since we would have to trek back up that mountain to see him. I guess since we are back in town we might as well write our reports and meet at briefing tomorrow." He gives Utegg a wink and a smile to assure him he is just teasing and not insulting him.
I believe the man we need is the Mayor of the Nettles District, so he would be in Flint, or did I miss something?

Emerson Hill |

It was in one of the spoilers above. The mayor is actually half way up the mountainside. But since the DM took us back to Flint, I guess we can resupply and inform the chief what we're up to. He'll probably yell at us either way.

Let me answer the confusion here a bit -- Cauldron Hill IS in Flint (you can see it as #6 on the main Flint map) and therefore in The Nettles District. Cauldron Hill is more like a mountain - it stands starkly higher than anything else nearby at 2500 feet elevation or so. The mayor's manor is about 1000' up on the southeast side in The Nettles District (it's about at a 4 o'clock hand if Cauldron Hill's top is the center of a watch). As such and with good paths to that point, it's only 30 minutes by carriage for you all to get there directly from R.H.C. Flint Branch (though much of the Nettles is hard to traverse with informal tracks and shantytowns, the road to the mayor's manor is paved and relatively straightforward).
So this is not the arduous journey of 3 hours of going deep into the Cloudwood District south of Flint that you just took to get to the southern henge (as a point of reference, you were down south of the 'M' in the word 'Miles' on the Flint Map and just south of the bottom edge).
EDIT: So if you want to go right back out with a fresh carriage and try to meet with Mayor Macbannin at his manor before it gets to dusk, you can do so. Or you can go into HQ building and report in to Stover Delft before he leaves for the day, but not both.
EDIT to the EDIT: There's no right or wrong choice here - I'm just giving you a sense of what you "could" do before the day of 2 Summer starts to wrap up. It seems that Emerson and Tobias are leaning to stay and report in at R.H.C. HQ, which is perfectly fine. You all get a consensus and decide...and it looks like at least one of you so far gets to read and react to the spoiler.

DM Vord |

So just waitin' for you fine folk...
Since it seems you're not pushing to go back out to Mayor Macbannin's manor in The Nettles this evening, you can either go to R.H.C. HQ building (and give me a sense of what scene you want there, such as going to Delft's Office or the Briefing Room or whatever), or chat with the chap just outside the gate entrance. The group can short-term split up from here and I can run a couple simultaneous scenes. The Kell prisoner will be taken by the Risuri Army guards to a cell in the basement level of the R.H.C. HQ building, so you don't need to worry about that unless you really want to.

Wow. Okay. You guys are pretty much underwhelming me with this last week of posting, especially since Wednesday afternoon. So I'm going to call some attention to it now.
The group essentially took an entire real-time posting week to:
* Decide if they are going back out or reporting in (which is fine though only a third of the group did that before or by Tuesday)
* Decide if those that noticed the "guy" were going to talk to the "guy" or not (also fine but that was essentially decided by Tuesday night)
* Some approached the guy, others did ??? (by or on Wednesday)
* The guy responds and those present do ??? (Wed-Fri)
Posting count from Friday-to-Friday shows:
* Willem 3, Emerson 2, Tobias 2, Jesselle 2, Gemma 1, Anneca 0, Fethryth N/A (as Feth properly related in Discussion she'd be out)
So besides Willem and Fethryth, everyone else is pretty much lackluster this week. I'm sure some players may state they were holding on more posts to see what others were going to do, which is understandable to a point, but you see how this then spirals down when everyone is not putting forth good effort. As per my quoted prior post here, anyone NOT taking part in the discussion with the guy outside the gates could setup their own R.H.C. scene pretty much anywhere they wanted, but didn't.
Since we're now to the weekend, barring any other actions I'll just end the current scene, have the guy walk away as he's pretty much done with what he was there to do, and reconvene all seven of you to Delft's office for discussion of your next-steps, probably getting that up tomorrow (Sunday). In the meantime, please follow the PbP Posting Habits guidelines in my Profile Tab and take some time to get into your character's personality and motivations.

Anneca Summers |

You're right. I should have posted, but I let my real-life business drag me down.
In good news, I should be promoted to Lieutenant some time in the next year. The promotional process has been a big reason of my failure to post sometimes, and it's finally over with a successful outcome.

DM Vord |

Well I'm not looking to single any one player out, though I do appreciate the feedback - my main concern for all of you is that with holiday stuff fast approaching the game may slow down a bit anyway, so I want to keep things going as much as possible. For the time being, I've found I have adequate time to post in mornings and late evenings, so the pace y'all set I can keep up with.

Well that is powerfully good news - well done and well deserved! I imagine though that will be quite a significant change next year in terms of daily/weekly/monthly duties, as well as possibly work location in the city.

Willem Muhnee |

Congrats Anneca! Is that Civilian LT or Military?

Tobias Utegg |

Just to clarify, Tobias isn't criticizing Willems suspicion, hes just saying that he doesn't have any input on the idea.

Willem Muhnee |

no worries

Fethryth Teldanona |

Congrats on the promotion!
I'm going to make the argument that Fethryth would have had someone cast Mage Armor on her before they left for the meeting, but if you're not ok with that then let me know and I'll do that now.

Given that it's an hour duration, it's certainly fine that you expended the charge soon after arriving to the location or just before there.

Willem Muhnee |

I am going to try to post tonight. So far, my Christmas has been semi-lousy.

DM Vord |

Sorry to hear that Anderlorn. Well I have Willem up on the front driver's bench next to the driver - I'm assuming he has his musket out and loaded, so he's got good visibility at some height all around him.

Willem Muhnee |

Yes please, I am having a bit of drama over the holiday. Please bot me if I am holding up the party. I'll either jump in when I can or the best time to jump back in. I am hoping it will not last much longer.
Thanks!

Fethryth Teldanona |

I'm really sorry to hear that Willem. I hope things get better for you soon.

Willem Muhnee |

Happy New Year Everyone! I apologize for my long absence, my Christmas Vacation was far from the easy going time off originally planned which involved extra doctor visits and a fire that I had to put out with a garden hose or the house was next with no time to call 911. Everything should be calm for me to start posting regularly again starting tomorrow, Monday (1/2/17).
