"Times are turning. The skyseers – Risur’s folk prophets since their homeland’s birth – witness omens in the starry wheels of heaven, and they warn that a new age is nigh. But what they cannot foresee, hidden beyond the steam and soot of the night sky, is the face of this coming era, the spirit of the age. The zeitgeist."

I agree, I was mainly more mad at myself than you and I sat on it to cool off ... lol. Good old anger management and sitting on email while heated or in this case, a post works wonders.
Was going to get some posts done tonight, but the bands of the hurricane gave us some tornado warnings and disrupted my writing plans. So I'll be back at it tomorrow once the weather calms down.
Update to the Silver Swan Inn scene and a new challenge encounter introduced! Have fun!
After I get back from an outing today, I'll update the Thinking Man's scene and give you the Professor's reaction to Jesselle's introduction, at which you can reply in-game and Emerson can make his final decision on his role and the group's approach to use!
Greetings! In the top portion of our game you will now see a link to a current summary of all the clues and discoveries you've made so far for this adventure - this way you'll have an easier time reviewing what's been discovered so far, given the numerous posts and length of time in PbP for them. Please review and refer to it frequently to refresh yourselves on what's known by the constables.
I believe I'm looking for the following posts in the various evening scenes:
* Emerson and/or Jesselle to open up initial dialogue with "The Sailors" and Griggs MacBane (as Willem has selected that group and made a successful observation check for when they do).
* Tobias to make his next Obstacle check(s) to continue the chase.
* Fethryth to respond to Heward.
So I'm starting to see the draw-down of the three 1 Summer Evening threads, and am looking forward to you all getting back together again (which will be 2 Summer in the good ole' R.H.C. Flint Branch HQ Briefing Room)!
As of tonight what I'm waiting for (not calling anyone out, just getting it straight in my head as I prepare next posts):
* Thinking Man's Tavern: Jesselle to act as primary talker and strike up a conversation with "The Band" and Jered Lawman (Diplomacy roll not necessary yet, but looking to show how "The Band" operates).
* Mysterious Man Chase: I'll wait for Tobias' post & check roll before having the Mysterious Man respond to Anneca's challenge, just so I can determine final relative positions.
* Fethryth and Gemma: You're ahead in time relative to the other two threads, and rolling back to base in a carriage! I'd like a post from both PC's before posting my own development...your thread is obviously the most freeform at this point, so it's about what you both bring to it.
I will promise that the PC's will see a little "action" on 2 Summer - not to metagame but I think the players appreciate knowing this module is not strictly investigation-based.
Finally, please look at the header to see my revised notes on what you've discovered - you all pretty much know what you're doing on 2 Summer (going up to find Nevard Sechim in the Cloudwood), but in general this module is NOT linear and often runs with the direction and choices you all put forward.

As opposed to scrambling around looking as if he is cornered by Anneca, the mysterious man simply laughs at her coldly. "It seems you've learned a thing or two in your time with the Constabulary - I must admit it was poor observation on my part that I did not see you of all people at the bar. This does make it far more delicious however, little meat."
Hey all, sorry for the radio silence. My younger brother got mugged this weekend, he's okay but kind of beat up and we ended up driving a few states over go help his wife with the kids and anything else that needed doing. We're headed home sometime tomorrow and I will be resuming posts when I return, sorry about the delay.
Good to hear your brother is doing OK Tobias. Too bad he couldn't bring a little Krav Maga beat down on the assailants.
Sorry all for my absence or slow post times, I was first under the weather this week and then I have had to catch up on career work including setting up my new Windows 10 workstation at work. It was one machine out of a batch that were accidentally ordered and one was given to me. It is a little overkill (Xeon with 32 GBs of RAM) for a network security engineer but I am not complaining ... :-) I want to be caught up in all my games by this weekend.
Feel free to post if there's anything pressing you want to get in there on your respective threads, but otherwise we are finally done with the triple-evening threads of 1 Summer! I am updating your clues summary shortly with what you've learned, and then I'll be working on the first 2 Summer post where you're all back together in the R.H.C. HQ morning briefing room.
Now that we're all back together in the same room (yay), I want to make the point that, despite the fact there are seven of you, I don't want any splits of the group for the most part. So whatever you all decide to do next (which I'm assuming you all want to go up to the Cloudwood for the majority of 2 Summer), it needs to be the whole group going.
Though that might stretch verisimilitude at times, I'm asking for all the players to formulate posts and PC notions towards that as the "natural" and preferred assumption.
Hi All - I've been preoccupied with Hurricane Matthew since Wednesday (here on the west side of Orlando as well as SpaceCat & Cromlich), but today I've put house things back in order and will get back into my normal posting habits. More to come soon!
For DM note, I'm going to say that the slugs in Gemma's pistol have been blanched with cold iron. There's no way she would go anywhere near Fey territory without some sort of cold iron.
Terrain is going to be like a forest in northern Georgia or the Carolina foothills well below the Appalachians. It's a higher elevation so it's not swampy or completely abysmal, but it's not pleasant to tromp through off the trail. Heavy undergrowth and lots of trees, with occasional clearings. Lots of bugs, as it's summer season. Lots of varied terrain with big rocks, ravines and steep uneven hills.
You can go forward on the road up to the ridgeline crest, or a little bit to either side without getting mired in heavy undergrowth.
What gear do we have available? Anneca would have grabbed as many scrolls, potions, and wands as allowed under WBL.
Unfortunately the mission assignment doesn't call for the "Axis Island" level of resources! If you have stipend funds left you can easily secure any typical (DC 15-20) alchemical weapons/remedies/tools, as well as 1-2 CLW potions, prior to leaving - you can also borrow a single pyrotechnics (CL3) scroll which are kept in stock. Anything else (custom arcane scrolls, wands, etc.) would need to be requisitioned at the Quartermaster's Office (and take available stipend funds), which would take 1-3 days to be readied if approved...possibly in less time if the party uses Risur Prestige to call in a favor for the day.
