@Jesselle: Talking with the Dead and Explanation seem to fit Tobias pretty well. He'd probably be too preoccupied with trying to tell if spirits have the same sort of psychic resonance as living people, and would likely not even realize how strange your ability was until after the spirit had finished speaking with you. At which point he'd accept the offer to your apartment. He would fire off a number of questions about the personalities of the dead, and what you believe their motives are. After listening intently he'd offer up some information about a sort of Occult underworld that he uses on occasion to supply him with power crystals (the psychic version of scrolls) in the hopes that it might help you find some way to rid yourself of Lady Masters if you so desire.

It's also likely that you'll see Tobias out in the poorer districts since his best friend is likely to get involved in the Docker movement and drag him along to events and gatherings. So, while he'll probably be busy elsewhere during Meet the homeless, he probably already knows about your charity work anyway.

Drinks on Me: Tobias has similar feelings about the transfer, feeling as though he's taken one step forward and two steps back while nearly every other current constable has received a promotion or promising transfer.

Home Delivery Tobias won't be home, but his roommate Chip will gladly accept some banana bread on his behalf, and would invite you in for an impromptu performance of the band he's managed to cobble together hoping for your input on their performance. They're pretty good but there are significant anti-establishment undertones to the music that you could make your own judgements about. While it's not really interaction with Tobias I think it could be a good insight into the friends and lifestyle he's been exposed to since moving to Flint.

Edit: I'll have my NPC's updated into my profile fairly soon. I'll be updating Chip, adding Roksana from my recent post and I have a another I'd like to add in as well. It looks like I've built some ties with Feth and Jesselle through their own vignettes. Though I'd love to tie a post in with some of the original four as well. I was going to suggest perhaps running into Emerson at the bar on the map, since we live near by, though I'm not sure how long we'll be neighbors given the recent post, but I figured I'd run it by here in the discussion tab anyway.

Is the stipend our salary or do we also get an allowance and take home stipend or is that why there was a + between the stipend numbers? Both in the military and police departments, they receive a clothing(/firearm) allowance and salary. I am taking care of this all tonight since my schedule has been full and suffering from a little writer's block. Sorry for the huge delay.

I tried to post last night but kept falling asleep, I am going to post in discussion so you don't have to wait for me if you are ready to continue.

Basically, Willem is going to spend most of his idle time with Chrystine, spend fair amount of time with Emerson on adding a bayonet on a bayonet lug instead of on the barrel like knucklehead real life and Paizo did. In real life, they only did that for one years time before someone realized how much of an idiot move it was to block the muzzle and rearranged the bayonet to go underneath or over the muzzle instead blocking it from shooting. I wonder how many barrels blew up in that one year's time? He would have also gone with the group for drinks, organized a drink social himself, and attended Jess' charity drive.

Well in "story" terms the stipends and salary is supposed to reflect the constable's actual salary PLUS their overall clout/status to requisition equipment for R.H.C. field work. It's assumed the constables are paid in particular intervals so they can live and pay their rent and eat and all that...and then they have the ability to request gear from the R.H.C. Quartermaster's offices and R&D units for those things they need/want for carrying out assignments. For the purposes of the story you can just assume that and flavor it how you want.

In "game" terms the periodic stipend increases reflect each PC's wealth and purchasing power in the campaign, using the R.H.C. as their "store" so-to-speak. Zeitgeist differs from other Pathfinder campaigns because you don't keep what you find (mostly) and don't loot the bad guys for gear and treasure. It's similar to WBL but a little more favorable and comes at various points in the story (and not just at level-ups). So think of these increases as real adds to your wealth, meant to requisition gear at full value to get what you need.

Right now the overall stipend level for each PC is:
starting class max wealth + 1000 crowns + 1500 crowns, where crowns = gold pieces. This means all your current armor/weapons/ammo/gear/magic should NOT exceed 2800 crowns.

To reflect a fair level of routine recurring/ongoing expenses, your constable salary covers you at "Average" Cost-of-Living levels (Core Rulebook under Gamemastering section), which says you can afford an apartment or loft (not in Central District per my assessment of Flint expense) and buy common items/food/drink valued at 1 crown (gp) or less. So we are hand-waiving most expenses for the sake of convenience, unless you're buying something more expensive than your typical fare.

EDIT: So back to your question Anderlorn on buying uniforms and upkeep and all that - basically uniforms are 1gp, so you just hand-waive that. So are artisan's outfits or traveler's outfits, laundry and simple tailoring/mending services, messenger services and the daily paper, etc. That's just normal, but if you're picking up the 50 crown bottle of vintage wine and a gentleman's outfit for a grand night on the town, that needs to be spent from any available funds you have remaining.

EDIT to the EDIT: As far as making your own simple firearms for 1/2 price (as a Gunslinger with Gunsmithing bonus feat), making your own ammo for 10% of value (conveniently summarized in my spoiler on the Campaign Info Tab), or upgrading firearms to masterwork (for 300gp but an option for gunsmiths) you just need to mark those items in your profile so that I know you calculated a crafted cost and not full value.

Thanks for the Answers DM Vord. I am going to do my best to get a substantial posting between Sunday and Monday. Tomorrow and Monday, Tropical Depression Bonnie will be here so we will not be doing much which means more time to work on posting. Although tomorrow, we plan on going to see X-MEN. Currently I am a little tired to creatively post due to how late it is. My family and I went furniture shopping to purchase a couch, end table, TV/gaming console, and Tempur-Pedic Premier bed foundation with OnPurple Mattresses. We are converting the current computer room/office into a Teen room for my daughter and the computer room is moving downstairs to the dining room we never use. As for the bed, since we moved here, the rag weed allergen has been kicking our rears and slowly degraded our health. With this bed, my sinuses will not clog me up at night causing me to cough and then I can start sleeping soundly again so I can think, work out, and get off the family recliner where I sleep now. As well as, help my wife.

By the way, part of my problem posting is because of my allergies and having to sleep in a recliner. The bed does come until around June 19th so it isn't right away but I can't wait?! We have been reviewing for a while now.

Okay gang, we're now off on the second adventure! My thanks for your patience on the delay last week in getting this set in my head and moving forward. I expect to have more consistent momentum with my own posts as we now move into the adventure itself.

So to show off your Flint places and the usual "routine" of going from there to your job at the R.H.C. I'd like for you to run a post of your morning routine or your typical "morning in the life" kind of flavor as you start what should be another "typical" day on the first day of Summer. No different from any other day I'm sure!

EDIT: It's not something that you have to reference in your posts, but the campaign info tab does have both a hand-drawn draft sketch of the Flint Branch Compound, as well as a detailed map of the HQ building itself, just for your reference.

Hi All!

In full disclosure I've run into a couple of snags since Wednesday, so I'm not looking to post for our game until Sunday. In addition to catching a head cold (joy), I'm prepping for an all-day Saturday session with six players (running The Dragon's Demand), with three of them new to Pathfinder. So once I get through that and feel a bit better I should be able to devote full time to the start of our Zeitgeist: The Dying Skyseer PbP posts.

Oh I did get more NPC's fleshed out on the related links from Campaign Info Tab, and I should get the player-inspired NPC's detailed out soon as well. Also added sections for R.N.S. Ship names and other Flint places of interest that I'd like to capture for you - pubs/taverns, dance halls, bookshops, curio shops, etc.

Update - sorting equipment out, more of a pain than I thought. Question, the equipment we purchase from character creation is considered privately owned but must be reported, correct? For example either the character starting gold or Rich Parents gold.

Yeah in a mechanics sense there is no difference between max starting wealth, your trait bonus and the two declared stipend increases. The only thing I want noted for PC's is anything they crafted for less than full value.

As for the Bayonet Emerson and Wil are working on, how will that work.

Basically, they are creating the modern day bayonet rifle configuration in which the bayonet is under the muzzle so you can both shoot and use the attached bayonet.

Emerson, Willem is a sniper so his tracking ability is no better than the rest of the Constables unless someone else has tracking ... LOL. Of course, that doesn't mean he can track because anyone can track but not as well or as fast as a ranger, normal slayer, etc.

So here you are in the beginning of the investigation! This adventure is going to require a fair amount of coordinating with each other as players and determining where the characters might be best-placed to shine, so please do not forget to use Discussion Tab or our alternative communication methods to lessen the "standalone" issue of not all being around a gaming table.

Though you can certainly split up and tackle different areas/rooms at (and in immediate vicinity of) the consulate, in general as this goes forward I would ask that the players do not split up to look at different locales of the city - please stay together as a group to a general location. My reasons for this are several, but I think you understand why it's not ideal from a scenario and role-playing standpoint. So in the context of the consulate - please all leave North Shore together and don't split up to follow different leads that you may discover here.

Right now we have an "inside" and "outside" investigation going, with Willem and Emerson ahead of the group by a half-hour, so the two groups may not coordinate with each other unless they're in time-sync. So keep that in mind as the "inside" group splits up further to investigate or interview in the areas of the consulate they may be interested in.

Gemma did well on the Perception roll before but to take a closer look she can try and use Heal in addition to that. Unfortunately, I don't have any bonuses for it. Fingers crossed.

Wow. Okay nice roll and idea on the Heal skill - the AP regards Heal as a sort of 'Knowledge: Medical' type of use in addition to the standard uses, so I'll give you the results in my next post. Next time though, post the roll in the gameplay tab please!

So just to the players on the coordination of this in the PbP setting - once you all are finished in your respective areas and you're all back together (going on to wherever next you want to go), I'll take all the spoilers and consolidate all of your clues together for all to read. That way you do not have to try and cross-communicate all the clues in gameplay (assuming you would all relate and confer with one another what you discovered there).

I think we're close to wrapping things up in the areas looks like, so I will move the scene along to where you are all together (and can review all your clues) tomorrow evening. So post any final PC replies and/or inquiries in the meantime tonight and tomorrow.

I say we track down Heward. He bailed Nilasa out of jail and seems to be the only solid lead that could talk to us and shed some light on what the Nilasa's goals were.

You too sir. I am spending my 4th at home having our own firework show and geeking out. We're moving the computer room to the dining room that we never use and our home network is going to become mostly wireless with wired connections at some locations in the house but connected to each other via wireless clients (non-root bridges) and server (root bridge). And the current computer room is going to be a Teen hang out room, with rules, for my daughter in which she can hang out with her friends. The tricky part will be placing a vlan for the 5g uplink radio, a vlan for the inside house clients or 2.4g radio, and try to mitigate vlan hopping as much I can. And then there are available wireless channels ... LOL
