The wide chamber must once have been the living quarters of an important figure. A large stone slab that suggests the shape of a bed rests against the far wall under a huge bas-relief of a robust, long nosed bald humanoid figure with outstretched hands.The figure wears a lovingly sculpted wind tossed robe that gives him the image of a triumphant god. A gylph that looks like a stylized arrow marks an amulet worn around the figure's neck. Wardrobes and dressers seemingly carved from the stone walls look to have been ransacked a long time ago.

The bed appears to be rather nondescript. Nothing really magical about it jumps out at you as you inspect it.

Walking through the Cairn hills, trying to work his way towards Greyhawk, the young dwarf decided it was time to stop and rest, to recover some form his journey. Rooting about for some tinder to start a fire, he began digging through some brush. He did find some dead undergrowth that could help him get a fire going, but he also found a hole, a tunnel or hallway working back into the hill. The walls of the tunnel bear bands of a pattern at waist height, and flecks of paint.

He gathered the moist, dead material and placed it off-center over the dry tinder he already had in place before building the twig teepee over the top and reaching for his flint and steel and trying to get the fire started.

Once he got the fire going, he put his pot on and went about warming himself a little something to eat. If the entry to the tunnel represented the 12 position on the clock, his spot around the fire was at about the 8, where he could see the growth and watch it. The fire a good 40' back from the hidden opening.

As he worked at his meal, he heard somethign appraoching, but it sounded like it was coming from over a hill, not out of the tunnel. that didn't keep him from putting his food down and readying his shield and flail.

"Right. C'mon oot. I hear ye. Ye gotta see me fire by now. C'mon. Oot wit ye."

Steps into the fire light. He looks the dwarf over and extinguishes his torch.

Thalin and Ralafas, as you stand near the entrance to cairn you hear strange sounds, almost like voices as the wind blows through the entrance.

There is another chamber on the other side of the hall, but you have to cross the brown mold to get into it.

Looks over at Thalin. Hmmm seems like we need to get across that any ideas? He looks around the room for a way around it or safely over it.

Also I would like to take a look at any the inscriptions. Even if I don't have the right languages for them I might be able to make the linguistics roll.

"How about I run across really quick and see what's in the other room? I could probably take a little frostbite." Kyle volunteers, trying to be useful.

"No. We should go back and return when we're prepared better. In fact, we've been here for some time, let's go back to town and rest for the night. We can return tomorrow."

And with that said, the dwarf starts packing his things back into his bag for travel. After loading himself back down, he looks at the sueloise man. "Name's Thalin. Ye ready?"

"Fair 'nuff. Ah fig're Ah should go first. Stay clhose." With that, the dwarf gets his shield up and out, and begins a slow progress into the tunnel.

Kyle looks disappointed. "Yes, you're probably right, let's head back. Folks, remember to keep your lips zipped about what we're doing back in town or the place might end up crawling with townies."

Thalin and Ralafas as you enter the cairn you notice small holes that line the sides of the passage where the air passes through playing the tunnel like a large wind instrument.

Far down the hall you see a faint green light.

As she crested the hill, Tessa finally caught sight of the Whispering Cairn. Well known in Diamond Lake for being haunted, she'd never felt the need to investigate it. But something was up there, and that was no lie. The arrival of The Four from Greyhawk was eventful enough, but a few in the Feral Dog mentioned that five people had conspired together, and one of the regulars, Old Cuttooth by name, mentioned hearing something about this cairn.

Now, Tessa wasn't about to run off and investigate a haunted cairn by herself, and if five fools wanted to get themselves killed, that's their choice. But one of the devotees of the Green Lady seemed interested in it, and while the clergy of Wee Jas weren't evil, they did have unique views on the afterlife, and that was reason enough to see what was happening there.

So the half-orc had buckled on her armor and taken up her weapons to find out what could be so damned important about this particular cairn. She saw two men enter the cave mouth, a dwarf wearing chain and a Suloise man wearing light chain. She wasn't sure who they were - maybe thieves here to ambush the five she was here to check out, maybe just adventurers who stumbled across the cave. Regardless, they were entering the cave, and there was nothing for it but to confront them. She walked forward, unlimbering her axe as she went. As she stood in the mouth of the cave, she spoke to them.

"Nice night for a walk. Interesting choice of locales." She narrowed her eyes at the pair, waiting for them to make the next move.

He eyes the new commer looking her over. If she means to help he thinks it will be most welcome.

Tessa "Church. Green Lady? Heironeous?" She gives the robed man a glance up and down, then snorts to herself. "No, not Heironeous. Not armored enough." She glances as the dwarf shifts his weight, but swiftly returns her gaze to the human.

Aye we should move. I don't like being exposed out here. And I have heard rumour that some of these cairns are larger beneath the surface.

Resettles his pack and makes to follow the dwarf in.

"Right the first time. Green Lady.", the half-orc states, narrowing her eyes. "Let's go in, then. After you." She looks to the dwarf, hoisting her axe over her shoulder, still wary of both, but less concerned now than a few minutes ago.

As he shifts his weight back to his own two feat and picks the tower shield back up, the dwarf snorts. Readying his flail, he starts inching his way down the tunnel, watching to see if he can spot whatever's causing all the noise.

Kyle packs up the treasures and follows, reluctantly.

Slowly follows the dwarf into the cairn. Holding up a torch and watching out for ambushes.

As Ralafas, Tessa and Talin enter the cairn, You see a torch light up ahead mixing with the strange green glow.

Basically it is Klye and Quelsin (and the rest) returning to the surface. You all meet at the entrance a short ways into the cairn in the hallway.

"You lot! 'R' you causin' t'e wailin' cumin' oot o' t'is cairn?" The voice is coming out of a stout dwarf, mostly behind a tower shield. His flail is in his other hand, but it is angled towards the floor, in a more relaxed grasp - ready for use but not in use.

He turns to the others and looks them over.
Where are you all heading? If you do not mind staying for a but I have noticed some carvings I would like to study and if you know of anymore could you point them out?

Ralafas finds himself growing excited at the idea of finding writing left undocumented for hundreds of years.

@DM have you seen the ministry of the winds adventure from 3.5 it fits with the old cairns of diamond lake. It was free for download but I have no idea if its still available.
