I was looking at the stats for horses in the bestiary, and I noticed that under the main heading for horse, it discusses that the posted stats are for a "light horse".
I am more than willing to those stats for a mule. In the paragraph at the bottom of page 177 is says:
The statistics above are for a typical riding horse, called by some a “light horse.” Some horses are larger and heartier, bred for labor such as pulling plows or carriages. These horses are called “heavy horses” and gain the following adjustments to the base statistics detailed above.
Heavy Horse: A heavy horse gains the advanced simple template. In addition, it also gains a bite attack that inf licts 1d4 damage, and its hoof damage increases to 1d6. As with a light horse, a heavy horse can be specifically trained for combat with the Handle Animal skill.
Am I to use the Heavy horse stats? If not, when I get a mount, can I have my mule "upgraded" to these stats? I think that would be cool to have the mule that he raised be "blessed" to be his bond with Erastil.
Also, I do not want to start out the game with the mount combat trained if that is okay with you. That is something I want to push through in game if you don't mind.
Also, I was thinking that his father would have trained the two mules at the outset, Matti (the purchased mule) traied to the general purpose of hard labor, and Gerti trained to the gernal purpose to ride, and an extra trick to work. In both cases, they are not trained to the fullest they can be, but they at least have the training to do the tasks they will be given.
What do you think?

As a completely unrelated, but relavent topic:
The original members of the party had discussed who would eventually fit best into which roles, once we establish our our settlement at the the end of book 1/beginning of book 2 of the adventure path.
Some of this can be determined through roleplay an seeing which characters fit which roles in terms of ability and personality.
Recently, the two most likely "kings" we had, left the group for one reason or another.
Does anyone have any thoughts or preferences on the subject?

About Tyr Thordinsjon
Back Ground:
Tyr Thordinsjon is a large and powerfully built man. His life began in a small free hold, the son of a landed Knight and his Lady wife. Raised in a martial house hold, Tyr has been educated in sword as well as the mind. Originally he had hoped to enter the Maritime servises as a marine, there to rise in the ranks and perhaps become a commander of men, like his father.
However, the call for people to head south and extend the bounds of civilization has presented the young Tyr with the chance to 'fast track' his dreams of leading others. He hopes to do much with this opportunity and woe to those who would attempt to stand in the big man's way.

*Sigh* I am loath to report that due to unforeseen problems all of the characters information has been lost.
Is there a link or perhaps a pointer to the current character development rules etc?
I again apologize for being such trouble. *bows*
Hardly your fault buddy, its been happening to a lot of peoples aliases over the last few days.

Is this an acceptable way of rolling?
Again, thank you very much for your help and assistance Jamison Walker, Alexander Kilcoyne, Karthas,
Tyr, like I said in the in game thread, we haven't reached 3rd level yet, so the level 2 version of your character is what is needed.

Watching this incarnation of Kressle's sister with interest Max :)
Well, since Sully called her 'Kestra' in the original go-round, I thought it only fitting that the real-deal show up to investigate what happened to her little sister. Thanks for the updated version for a party of six, by the way; I've tweaked her just a bit.

Ok, so from the Bandit Camp Redux Battle, we have the following:
Off those bandits we killed:
Leather Armor, 7 sets
Longbow, 7
Arrow, 125
Short sword, 7
Trail Rations, 28 days
49 Gp
Off the Bandit leader Kestra 2.0:
Chain Shirt, Masterwork, 1 set
Longbow, Composite (+2), Masterwork, 1
Arrows, 18
Longsword, 1
Dagger (Cat's Eye), 1
Potion (unidentified), 1
21 Gp
Silver Amulet Shaped like a stag's skull, 1
And the gear that belonged to the Bandits that we captured:
Leather Armor, 2 sets
Longbow, 2
Arrow, 30
Short Sword, 2
14 Gp
Trail Rations, 8 days
And from the Creepy Hut in the Clearing, we have:
Dagger, Cat's Eye, 1
Who wants what?
My thoughts are to split the coin from the dead bandits and the bandit leader, keep the arrows, claim what you want, and we dump the rest at Oleg's.
Also, I would like to put forth that we leave the "bandits" with Rani all their gear. I feel that trusting them, and Rani, to refom themselves into useful members of society is far better than treating them like bandits. If we expect more from them, they will step up to the plate. Besides, if they don't...we have several worshippers of a god of the HUNT...they won't get far.

Hiram Salatin |

Not so fast there Karthas, please remember that bow is requiring a +2 strength bonus...so that throws at least me out of the running.
As a note, Hiram volunteered to carry one of the daggers, does anyone else want to volunteer to carry a dubious if not outright threatening item?

Jamison Walker |

Jamison could make use of the bow, I believe. He's got the requisite +2 Strength Bonus, and his god is Erastil, so I have proficiency with the Longbow, unless I'm mistaken.
He's kind of a "hulk smash" character, but it surely wouldn't hurt to have some sort of ranged attack available to him. He'll take it, if noone else wants it.

Hey Folks! We are still moving on this one, just not as quickly as we all (including me!) would like. Things have been VERY busy work-wise (and I guess that's a good thing, right? But, man I wish it would slow down a bit!) plus I seem to be catching every illness that my kids have been coming down with this Fall. But don't despair, I've been keeping up with AK's KM threads and am anxious to get you all to the kingdom building phase!
Best Regards!

DM Max |

Please excuse my lack of posting tonight. I found out I am down yet another grandfather, and just need a night with the family.
Thank you for your understanding,
Me.
Sorry to hear the sad news. You have my heartfelt condolences. I hope you and your family are doing okay in your time of grief.

Hiram Salatin |

Just wanted to pop in and let y'all know that I am still here, and that I am dealing with the fallout from the memorial/funeral. Sometimes these things get way too involved...and then the family politics certainly don't help.
I should be able to post tomorrow.
See you then.
Me.

Hiram Salatin |

Thanks, all.
This last year has been tough. I seem to have an undesirably frequent experience of losing my family members.
I certainly hope that my living relatives will continue to do so for some time, and give me at least a chance of progressing through the stages of grief.
Thank you for your kind words,
I am now back and ready to go.
