Round 2 cont.

Will save vs. compulsion, take three:
Wisdom + Halfling Luck + slow progression + Strength of Personality + protection from evil + Elysium's Call: 1d20 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 15 /facepalm

Anton once again questions his decision, but the dryad's magic is strong; he resolves to follow his own path and not let the kind fortuneteller tell him what to do. "It's just a short walk," he replies firmly.

Since the spell ended after just a move action, does Anton get a standard action too? I'm really not familiar with how it works.

You had to move 30', is that a double move for you even with the extra movement? 20 Base, 15 due to armor +10for boots= 25 movement?

I missed the part about moving to A8, had been assuming B6. Oops.

When Nim moves up the tree strikes out...
AOO Root atk 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 9 - 2 = 20 dam 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 Hit

Aycenia strikes at Corbrius...

Aycenia speaks right after Aedalis goes, Destroy the rest of them, I will deal with the imaged one, starting with that one!,and points to Aedalis.

Figments cannot cause damage. Once the "flames" wash over the target, and they realize they have not been damaged, they auto save. Mechanically speaking, since they cannot be damaged, they are not required to drop "dead" if the "damage" would be enough to "kill" them. ;)

I was wrong on the way that Figments work they can't produce effects that damage people so no damage. She will change her tactic for the moment.

Suddenly multiple images of Aycenia appear all around her, making it hard to know which is the real her...

Duplicating a lower level spell, mirror image. There are 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 images of her.

It would be my understanding that being in melee combat with Aycenia would count as "study it carefully or interact with it in some fashion" for the purposes of granting a save to recognize the illusory doubles as such. With Corb's successful save, the entire figment would be realized as false and fade to become "...a translucent outline". He would then be able to strike the "true" Aycenia.

Uncertain as to how he can actually harm the fiendish tree, Tragershen casts a spell in hopes of creating more confusion for the foe.

Cast Mirror Image defensively, concentration 1d20 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 3 = 10.

A brutish root lashing close to Tragershen causes him to lose focus and lose the spell with it. Grimacing with frustration, he draws his rapier and careful starts to make his way around the arboreal menace to draw attention away from the more vicious druid.

Failed casting, ready weapon, step to B5.

Corbrius, just so you know my impression of the current scenario there are basically four choices in front of you unless you can think of another, I can understand if you are not sure what to do:
1.Attack the images and hope to hit the real one, you would have a 1 in 7 chance, 1 is her on the dice.
2.Spend a standard action to try and figure out which one is real by interacting with the illusion ro studying it carefully.
3.Ignore her for the moment and use your attack rolls on the tree possibly using a different spell.
4.You may have another option that is a area of affect spell to try and get her to lose concentration on the illusion.

I feel I should point out, it has been my experience, that illusions are very tricky to adjudicate and can very quickly become unbalanced if one does not think carefully about the consequences of ones decisions. You currently have a (su) at-will ability, acting like a spell, acting like another spell, with pseudo-arbitrary mechanics. Maw atk 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 11 - 2 = 18 Miss

Yet again Aedalis' magic saves Nim's life!
A twist of fortune causes Nim to stumble back at the last seoncd as both a root and the Maw decended, narrowly missing him....

Mihai to finish the round, then back to the top!
A little slow posting with the holidays...so no concerns if others are slow as well.

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric (Varisian Pilgrim archetype) 6

Mihai steps forward towards the combat and concentrates on the will of his patron. He attempts to keep his companions walking...

5ft step forward then Channel to heal, exclude tree and Aycenia: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6
Should hit everyone.

Concentration check to keep concentration on Spell vs. DC 36 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30

Order of Combat Round 4:

Anton 18a
Nim 18b
Wic 18c
Aycenia 17
Corbrius 13a
Tragershen 13b
Aedalis 10
Darkwood 8
Mihai 3

Out of town atm so no map but not much changed....Anton to start the round. I will provide a map update tonight or tomorrow morning when I get back to my house.

Corbrius lands a good blow that knocks her out of her active concentration. The illusion continues, but it is now easy to pick her out of the still images as she is heavily bleeding and burnt from the electricity.
The wave of healing keeps the group going and you feel the tide of battle moving into your favor as your defenses prove too much for the evil duo...

Male Halfling (Molthuni) Barbarian 1 Ranger (Trapper) 3

Round 5

NA: 5' step to C6.
SA: Ready action.

Just after yet another failed attempt to contribute by tripping the dark dryad, Anton observes Nim barely avoid getting smashed into the ground or bitten in twain. He realizes just how quickly their fortunes could change if the terrible banyon landed more blows, and prepares to make that harder, moving between the tree and their healer as he does.

The little ranger looks up at the adjacent elf. "What are you doing? You're going to get yourself killed!"

Round 5

*********** Nim's turn (init 18b) *****************

Nim stands his ground, foolishly... he thinks to himself, as the wave of positive energy washes over the group. The minor mending of his wounds does little to bolster his opinion of his chances of surviving the tree's fury for much longer.

Seeing Anton's manoeuvring, the druid calls out, equal measures of irritation and desperation tingeing his voice, Are those weapons and armor merely for show?! I could use your help felling this tree!!

Fully committed to a fight he never sought, he swings once again with all his might...
SA attack w/scimitar (two-handed) +bull's str +bless +foresight -power attack +flank: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 1 + 1 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 2 + 1 + 1 - 1 + 2 = 25
damage (two-handed) +bull's str +power attack +pack hunter: 1d6 + 8 + 3 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 8 + 3 + 2 + (5) = 20
... and once again his blade bites deeply into the tree. As he yanks his sword free, he spins low and comes back up with his shield in hand. (FA + MA to ready shield)

************ Wic's turn (init 18c) *****************

Wic times his attack to coincide with the distraction of Nim's mighty blow...
SA attack w/bite +bless +foresight +flank: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 20
bite damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
free trip: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 17
...and he succeeds in tearing a mouthful of splinters free with his powerful jaws. (24 damage total)

Current status and effects:
Wicewakan: AC 18 HP 24 of 24

Nim: AC 20 HP 12 of 29

Note: I am out of town for the next few days. Posting will be difficult... not that is probably matters right now. :) If need be, please DMPC Nim.

Just to summarize... I have us at (64-15DR=)49 damage done to Aycenia and 48 damage to the tree. I also have the following positions for everyone: MAP

And Happy Holidays to all! :)
