M Human Witch 2

"Lets proceed and see if we can clear this place out."

Lynore dispatches the mite with little trouble. The group reforms and begins to move along the tunnel, after about 30' the tunnel opens out. The walls of this egg-shaped cavern are obscured by thick tangles of long, palid roots. To the east, the hcamber opens into a wide, root filled chasm.

6 of the little blue mites are tormenting a black scaled kobold who is tied into the roots along the wall. You can see 3 other kobolds hingly limply from their bonds covered in many terrible wounds.

Shrieking in pain the kobold yells in Draconic

Spoiler:
"Please help me, HELP ME!"

With what could only be described as kobold tears he exclaims his happiness in his broken common.

"I Mikmek, lasz of my band. I am powerful warrior, sent to savez holy holy. You helpz get great treasure."

150 xp each for mites.

Female Wood Elf Cleric / 3

"What is this holy holy, and what do you plan to do with it when you get it?"

Drams searches the mites.

"Iz a statue, I bring back to Chieftan, mite's keep stealing da statue. Wez sent to retrieve"

You find 6 daggers, 15 darts, and 50 gp

Female Wood Elf Cleric / 3

"Well we may help, are you an evil clan?"

The kobold seems confused by your question so he ignores it.

"Help good, yez."

M Human Witch 2

Cotton noticing the confusion tries asking him in Draconic.

Spoiler:
"She is asking if you are mean to people, or hurt them for fun."

In Draconic the kobold replies

Spoiler:
"Oooo that, some kobold mean in tribe yes, chieftan is nice, he not hurt anyone unless they hurt him first. Shaman is bad man, he want us to kill everything not kobold. I only like to kill mites, they are mean to us kobolds and steal our stuff. I just wish they leave us alone. Always seem to be more of them no matter how many we beat. I give them clean death though not this. "

M Human Witch 2

Cotton relays the message to the group.

"It seems that some in his tribe are what we would call evil, but many including his chieftan are not. He warned the shaman is bad."

Female Wood Elf Cleric / 3

"Then lets finish off with these mites, and see what we can do about the shaman, for him and the tribe."

I'm assuming you have untied the kobold

Mikmek drops down thanking you all from his knees before asking for a dagger and some of the darts. He is determined to help you in your search through the tunnels.

Just beyond the root tangle you see a deep and ominous chasm that splits the passage. The chasm is a few yards wide and twice as deep. Thick tangles of roots fill the chasm. The passage continues on the far side of the chasm, and between the two ledges, numerous loops have been tied into the roots to serve as hand and footholds.

chasm is 20 ft deep, it's an easy climb DC 5 to climb up or down or across the roots to the other side

Female Wood Elf Cleric / 3

"Oh, I have not doubt you will be helpful, but i will not give you a dagger or any weapons on your say so. You may lead us and look out for us but that is it for now."

Lynore attempts the climb.
