Karas Argentus |

Karas has a prehensile tail to try and nab an improvised tool. I don't want to know what bimbur is going to use with bound hands :p

Karas Argentus |

Man I thought Karas was gonna have issues lol This is just funny.

Neile Vass |

Warning: incoming rambly wall of text.
Rakeesh, Salsa isn't kidding when he mentions driving my characters to madness. Neile isn't the first notch in his screen, and I doubt she'll be the last. Whether it's dragging the oracle from her tent in the middle of the night and having her tormented by a bugbear, or sending the bard such vivid nightmares that he wakes up with furrows in his face and arms from trying to scratch out thousands of tiny spiders, he knows how to push their buttons.
That said, I've basically given him permission to put my characters through the wringer. This is my sixth game with Salsa as GM (seventh if you count a reboot of one that went on hiatus), and he's not crossed any lines for me (well, okay, the spider thing was toeing it). So when I rolled up Neile, who's crazy like River Tam and hears five different dead people (and she's only going to bond with more!), I knew fully well what I was doing. I knew I was giving him ammunition. And I'm enjoying the results. So if you notice an abundance of "OMG poor Neile!" moments, it's because I've basically said, "Bring it on!"
Putting aside the fact that I trust an online GM more than a lot of people I know in 'meatspace', I'm glad Neile is bringing out protective instincts from other PCs rather than just coming across as annoying to other players. I'm trying to portray her as the mad, slightly unstable girl I see her as, without her being irritating or a liability to the party (though if she ever reaches 4 influence with a spirit, that could be very interesting), but if she ever tips too far to one side, just let me know and I'll pull her back into place.
I think she'd appreciate Tehina's help in trying to balance things. She likes Karas, because he's indulging her quirks and sticking up for her. And of course, Ulfr doesn't think she's completely crazy, so that's really something. I'm having fun playing this little oddball bundle of madness, even if she is being tortured by her own mental passengers.

Rakeesh Sah Tarna |

*snip*
That's cool. Finding a DM with whom you can push the boundaries without crossing the line is a rare thing. I'm looking forward to seeing where this is going.
An intelligent Huecuva could be bad juju for us! :)
Try to push him as much as possible into sending some of his ghouls away! I don't see too many other possible ways to escape/survive this.
And, Tehina... I may owe you an apology. I didn't write Rakeesh up as a zealot. But, if he survives... I think Oracle/Mystery Cultist PrC is likely in his future. If you haven't read Ragathiel's Obedience, well... "Hardcore" sort of understates it.

Karas Argentus |

Technically probably. I can retrieve items with it. But karas has crap for skill at it and. Neg dex mod lol

Rakeesh Sah Tarna |

Should be fun. I'm still aiming at Envoy of Balance myself.
As for hardcore, I have actually played a mystery Cultist devoted to Vildeis. She makes Ragathiel look like a wuss.
Vildeis is pretty nuts. But, at least her obedience is self-inflicted, for the most part.
For Ragathiel, you basically wake up, grab a shower and shave, brew some coffee, execute a guy, walk the dog, and get on with your day.
Though there are some developer quotes that support "The Gladiator Version."

Sooooooo... How about those current news events, eh?
And that local sportsball team! That one player has been getting better - you know, the one with the face?

Yes. They played their last event all the way to its conclusion with an outcome deserving of comment.

DM-Salsa |

Sorry, needed to get my head back on straight. I'll try moving this forward tonight.

Karas Argentus |

I am officially back from vacation lol

Rakeesh Sah Tarna |

So, at this point I may be toe-ing the very line of what a Paladin can get away with. If we do manage to get a few of these ghouls/ghast to abandon their leader AND we manage to escape with our lives/defeat the others AND avoid turning into ghouls ourselves...
... is everyone okay with hunting down all the outliers before they can make it to the surface? :)

Rakeesh Sah Tarna |

That is probably going over the line, actually, I doubt Ragathiel would be pleased that one of his holy knights sounded like he was contemplating undeath. That said, you can expect some consequences from this.
That's fair. I knew I was right up at the boundary, at the very least.
It's interesting to me, though, that it's Rakeesh's pseudo-acceptance that you think is excessive. In my mind that's just an attempt to divide and conquer using a combination of flattery and threats. Not the most glorious battle... but, Rakeesh has been careful never to lie. And I've never been one to believe a Paladin couldn't use guile against evil.
I thought the real potential "line-crosser" was that Rakeesh was encouraging them to lead an attack on the surface. But, our circumstances are rather dire, and I couldn't think of anything else for which they would/might leave the temple.
Not a complaint, by any stretch! Consequences are just Role Play Opportunities!

DM-Salsa |

Yes, but I think I've evened the odds a good bit. We have the potential for a three way battle and some backup, so things should be at least doable.
Also, that was part of it, but taken as a whole, I think that it is a violation of your oaths as a paladin, so yes, role-play opportunities abound. I also may not play Ragathiel strictly to the way he's written as well, but I tend towards being more merciful than vengeful, so that should hopefully not be an issue.

Karas Argentus |

I percieve that I have feet apparently lol.

DM-Salsa |

Yep, gonna give Tehina one more day to respond, then I'm moving this show on the road.

DM-Salsa |

Kinda, I've been in a bit of a rough spot lately and that's sapped my enthusiasm for GMing. It's not fair to you guys that I keep dropping the ball, but I want to continue this. I'll have something up later tonight to move things forward.

Karas Argentus |

I just wanted to check in on you man. no big. We understand RL issues.

Neile Vass |

Everything alright, Salsa? You can message me any time if you need to vent. :)
Also, is it reasonable that Neile would have been able to trance before we kicked in the door?

DM-Salsa |

Yes. Sorry I just wanted to kick this off so we can move on.
As for what's wrong, it's financial. I am living beyond my means, which means that I need to sell my car and get one that I can actually afford and payoff quickly. Major downgrade, but that's what I get for not properly planning.
Other than the stress from that, I'm fine.

Neile Vass |

Okay, enlarge person, raging song, two claw attacks from trancing the bear, +1 to attack and damage rolls from channelling a strength spirit, +2 bonus to targets I've already damaged from the Beating's seance boon, and four attacks of opportunity per round.
This is gonna be FUN.
(Kinda wishing I'd picked the Big Sky as a spirit, for some fun chain-ripping action. But nooooo, I looked at it and thought it was 'too situational'...)

Neile Vass |

Oops, I forgot about that! Thank you for the reminder. =) 3 attacks of opportunity is still nothing to sneeze at, especially with 10' reach. And my AC only drops to 15, which isn't amazing, but isn't too bad at all.
Adding everything into Hero Lab, it looks as though I can actually use my monklike unarmed strikes in combination with my temporary natural attacks. But I'm guessing it would be better to make two attacks at +6/+6 rather than three attacks at +6/+1/+1... I don't think the dice like me that much.

Ulfr Uggason |

Just so everyone is aware, I am weeks away from the birth of my second spawn. My posting may become sproatic or drop off a bit as the wife needs me more and more with the approach of The Time.
I don't foresee huge gaps, but I wanted to give youall a heads up, just in case.

Karas Argentus |

I forgot that striaght up sundering was an option to pulling lol

Karas Argentus |

Rakeesh: If its what I think, we're just causing damage. Iron, I think, has hardness 10 do it you can exceed it you can damage it. :)

AdamWarnock |

A player in a game I'm in recently had someone disappear on him, and is looking for a nother replacement. This is for a Rise of the Runelords game that is still in Book 1 if you're interested.
As a bonus, I'm not the one GMing it, so you don't have to worry about references to Krosk. :D As a more questionable bonus, you get to play with the me on the same side of the screen.
The game is here: GM Haladir
The Character creation rules are here: The Recruitment Thread and Leveling Rules
And you can PM the GM here to let him know you're interested: GM Haladir's Rise of the Runelords

DM-Salsa |

There's a druid, a fighter, a rogue, and a wizard/rogue. I'm playing the last one, and the missing player was playing an oracle. You could bring Helen back. :)

Ulfr Uggason |

I'm trying to reduce my game load unfortunately. Otherwise I would. There is one game I'm locked into already (*coughcoughRonzanudgenudge*) and that will bring me to my max. :(
