DM-Salsa |

It's okay, I was just casting to see if anyone was interested. I hope we won't be saying bye to Olives anytime soon though. I like him, and I have plans...
*Sinister GM Smile*

Neile Vass |

Well, Salsa, you may be seeing a very familiar face soon.
Dammit Gideon, I was hoping people would forget about that >.> Given how flaky I am, I'm not sure it would be a fun thing...

DM-Salsa |

Woo hoo! I look forward to it. Should be fun when I don't know what's in store for the two of us. :D

Neile Vass |

Salsa, Ulfr - don't forget about it. I'm actually trying to get my head around something now. :-)
Tehina - ouch. I'd probably be miffed too - though, my self-esteem is practically non-existent, so I tend to get less miffed and more depressive...

DM-Salsa |

Aw dang, I'm sure that was an oversight and not intentional. I play with the guy in another game and he's always been a pretty good person.
That said, Neile still has her attacks left.

DM-Salsa |

By my count you had three possible AoOs, Two on the ghoul, one on the ghast and your two normal attacks. So I think you still have three attack rolls left.

Neile Vass |

Alright. So I've made my two regular attacks on the ghoul already, and your're going to let me go back in and make my attacks of opportunity retroactively? This is why I appreciate being told, "Make your AoO's now" :P

Tchirash Suntouched |

Neile, I've always just listed my AOOs as rolls after any actions I've taken. That way the GM can just take them in the order you rolled them, and doesn't have to wait on anyone if they're actually going to get an AOO.

Tchirash Suntouched |

I've done it in a game where I have a barbarian with combat reflexes (and heading to "Come and Get Me"). With 4 AOO's, I generally just roll them at the end of whatever combat actions I type up, and let the GM pick them as they go.

Neile Vass |

Yeah, that'd work. I already do tha with my swashbuckler - she doesn't have combat reflexes yet, but she does have parry and riposte, and it turns out panache is ridiculously easy to regain. I'll have to start doing it here.
In retrospect, I probably could have made Neile a bit younger. She certainly doesn't seem to want to act her age. I guess I thought it'd be a bit off to play a minor in this AP...

DM-Salsa |

Hey guys, one of the players in a couple of my other games would like to join. He's a good roleplayer and just a good player all-around. Would any of you have a problem with that?

Neile Vass |

I'd ask if it's anyone I know, but I'm in all the games you run. Is it anyone I like? Actually, that's a dumb question, too.
Ah hell, who is it? *already has a good guess*

DM-Salsa |

It's Lou and Noro's Player. He wasn't able to join the recruitment due to being on a cruise at the time.

Tehina Muunokhoi |

Let me start by saying it indeed is a very detailed character and it's clear he put quite a bit of work and effort into it.
It would be a second Angelkin Paladin, with Oath of Vengeance as well, so that might be less than ideal. We already are incredibly melee heavy, at the moment Tehina actually is the only one that isn't melee focused, though Bimbur should eventually also become ranged.
Simply put, I'm not sure we can accommodate the character without melee getting over crowded and people standing in each other's way. If you consider that Tehina is a Conjurer and will be summoning as well.
That said, I also have a dislike for the use of anime for character representation but that's a personal preference.

Rakeesh Sah Tarna |

As the Angelkin Paladin in residence, let me say that the addition of a second Paladin does not overly-concern me... except... it's a Paladin of Iomedae... in an AP that very, very, very, heavily features Iomedae. That being the case, I could potentially see her Paladin-hood overwhelming Rakeesh's from a story perspective. Especially since Rakeesh is playing at the very bottom-right of the LG Box, and even at level 1 has crossed the line a bit.
But, I also know that what's written in the AP and what's presented by the DM are not always identical. So, provided there are enough Paladin-flavored Scooby snacks to go around, the presence of a second Paladin does not worry me.

Neile Vass |

Having read the AP, I can say that, unless Salsa heavily changes not only the loot, but several story elements, Rakeesh is likely to end up playing second fiddle. Having been the person who felt superfluous and unnecessary more than once (happened briefly to my Kingmaker paladin; happened to Spoony once...) I wouldn't wish that on anyone. RP is nice, but if someone else is consistently doing the same thing you're doing, but better, and getting all the story goodness, it can be grating.
There are also spoilers for the AP in the character background (that timeline is ripped straight from the Worldwound campaign setting!), and, on a more personal note, having been through several WotR recruitments, I groan whenever I see another aasimar paladin of Iomedae >.>
Also, as Tehina said, we're already finding ourselves crowded in melee. I know you have a 'more the merrier' mentality when it comes to party size, which is usually great, but in this case, I'm on the fence. I like Ed, and I enjoy playing with him, and he is a good role-player, but as I'm indecisive here, I'll leave it to you and the others.

Karas Argentus |

I'd prefer not to see class overlap truly. I dont know the guy but I can agree that we'd like to not make anyone superfluous. Perhaps modify the character a bit to not step on toes?

Tchirash Suntouched |

I don't think two Paladins is necessarily a bad thing in some parties, but as we have almost all "in your face" kind of fighters, I don't know that there's room for another one.
This is perhaps just a pet peeve of mine, but I tend to shy away from characters that have very high ranking "relatives" or personal friends in their history.
I also agree with Tehina that the anime portrait was off putting, especially one that's basically dressed in a modern suit, as depicted in the gameplay for the character.

Rakeesh Sah Tarna |

Having read the AP, I can say that, unless Salsa heavily changes not only the loot, but several story elements, Rakeesh is likely to end up playing second fiddle.... I've not read it. But, I know enough to know that an Angel Paladin Child of the Crusades Chosen of Iomedae is likely to be the center of a lot of story elements. The fact that she has already declared herself the daughter of Iomedae's herald, and his desired successor, means she knows some of what's coming as well.

DM-Salsa |

Well, you guys have spoken. It's okay, I've heard back from the player and there's no hard feelings.

Neile Vass |

I'd just like to clarify, Salsa - when you say everyone but Tehina and Tchirash failed their saves vs. disease, does that include Neile? She didn't go down, but she did get bitten, so I just want to double-check. =)

DM-Salsa |

Sorry, I meant Tehina and Neile. I must have had a brain-fart.
As for the timeline, there isn't a set one, so you could, from a meta standpoint, take a few days to rest and get over this disease. From a story standpoint, not so much.

Karas Argentus |

Heads up, I will be out of communication from 6pm EST Friday to 3pm EST Sunday.

AdamWarnock |

If you're interested in Reign of Winter, and would like to play on the same side of the screen as me for once, there's a recruitment thread going on now for a RoW game I'm in that had two players just vanish on us. We're just about half to second level I think. If you're interested, you can submit a character here: RoW Recruitment!
Those of us playing are going to be involved, so I'll be pulling as hard as I can for you guys!

Karas Argentus |

Back and ready to get demon slaying!

Neile Vass |

Well this sucks. The final number of Medium spirits has been cut down to six. That actually really cuts at me; I was looking forward to seeing the whole suite =(
Apparently the full 54 will be in a future product, but with no mention of how far away that is... Looks like I'll be picking from the same comparatively small list for some time.

DM-Salsa |

Screw that! I'll write them up if I have to, because that's just damn cheap to say 54 then go back and say, Oops, we messed up our math and so you'll only be getting 6 spirits.
Seriously, that sucks, and Medium was the best class I saw in Occult Adventures.

Neile Vass |

On a more rational note, given the slow-moving nature of PBP, the eighteen spirits presented in the playtest will still give me plenty to choose from for a while yet, and the full 54 are apparently still coming. Let's just hope that's sooner rather than later. *crosses fingers*
On the other hand, the final version of the class, with the 6 spirits corresponding to different mythic paths, could be bloody amazing and far more appropriate for this AP. Time will tell!
But my impulsive emotional response is "OMG PAIZO WHY MUST YOU DO THIS TO ME?!" *throws self down on chaise longue and sobs*

Ulfr Uggason |

It was the most interesting, at least. I couldn't actually make it through them all, honestly. I say we develop them as needed or as inspiration strikes. That way we could weave her "discovering" new spirits into her campaign narrative. You could even use it as a plot device if needed!

Neile Vass |

I like the idea, as well. I guess the only real downside to that is that, at higher levels, the playtest version of the class seems to rely on 'chaining' spirits together to unlock their full potential.

DM-Salsa |

I can come up with the crunch, so don't worry about. If you want, you can pick which version to go with.

AdamWarnock |

I want to apologize for how slow things have been. It's my fault and I know that. This week I'm going to concentrate on getting things ready for the next parts in all of my games and getting things rolling again.
I'm sorry for how things have been dragging. It's not fair to you guys, and if I could afford it, I'd get all of you something from your wishlists to make up for it.
Don't worry, I'm not abandoning the game or going on hiatus for a little bit. I'm just going to try and get things ready ahead of time, as well as write down some of my ideas.
Again, I'm sorry for how slow things have gotten.
~Adam (aka DM Salsa)

Karas Argentus |

Its all good man. Im still around.
