I'll have no internet from tonight until monday, leaving for GardenCon in Geneva. Please DMPC Marduk if needed. She will continue to make her three attacks if she can.

![]() |

Out of curiosity, what exactly would Our Lady of Autophagia have made her victim do to the others?

![]() |

Are you talking about Marduk? If it is so, I didn't get what you meant :)

![]() |

No, I meant the bas-relief - you may eat your own kind, but you don't eat your own body.

![]() |

It seems there is a (fairly common) misconception regarding Kitsune.
Their "natural" form (which can be changed into by default) is a medium humanoid human/fox hybrid. (See Kitsune)
Changing into an actual fox requires a feat, "Fox Shape", from Dragon Empires Primer (p. 5).
I've even seen people with this feat that shouldn't (including a min-maxer in a local RL game), as its prereqs are +3 BAB (so, 3rd level, min) and Cha 13.

Impromptu over night camping trip in the morning. I will try to post before we leave but will not be back on until Thursday evening

![]() |

If I may ask now: What exactly would the horrific bas-relief trap have done to us if we'd tripped it? Everyone but one person would be targeted with a sleep spell (but isn't it great to have an Elf in the party? :D), and one person would be compelled to...what?

![]() |

Rob everybody else senseless while cackling?

![]() |

Ewwww......

![]() |

Miam! :D

![]() |

Mind you, that might not turn out as bad if the compelled individual in question were a Calistrian ("What? You didn't say I had to hurt them, you just told me to 'eat their flesh!'")....

![]() |

*Facepalm*

![]() |

Oops, I just realized I'd forgotten about my armor slowing me down in that fight - though it only would have made a difference for one move (I realize that probably won't lead to anything being taken back now, but I'm just mentioning).

![]() |

I just realized that somehow my post here was eaten.. I HAD posted to let yall know that I would be out of town camping from wed morning until tonight.. I apologize GM.

DM, do you consider it admissible for someone to say they cast a melee touch spell before entering melee, then just letting their hand glow with power or whatever for a second before rushing in and delivering it, thereby ducking the need to make a concentration check (which is extra-difficult for psychic magic)?

DM Rah |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Nectanebo, yes. And just FYI, what you are asking is actually spelled out in the rules - though somewhat hidden in the combat section.
Touch Spells in Combat: Many spells have a range of touch. To use these spells, you cast the spell and then touch the subject. In the same round that you cast the spell, you may also touch (or attempt to touch) as a free action. You may take your move before casting the spell, after touching the target, or between casting the spell and touching the target. You can automatically touch one friend or use the spell on yourself, but to touch an opponent, you must succeed on an attack roll.

![]() |

That's very good news, and thanks - the Combat section is one part I never mastered.

![]() |

Is a skill check actually necessary to make the necessary maps and notes? I at least have writing material.

![]() |

If you're wanting to check the faction journal card box, yes, a skill check (or ability check) is required, along with forgoing down time.
Otherwise, it would depend on why you're recording. Just for the adventure PP?

![]() |

So now that we've won, what was the deal with the sentry, the big mound of rotten flesh, and the scowling door? Does it say, or are some mysteries meant to remain mysteries for now?

![]() |

Would you settle for drawing a silly mustache on the bas-relief?

DM Rah |

By the sentry I assume you mean the one spaced-out Kuru with the divination enchantment upon him. He was a Kuru surrogate for the Blood Queen. His senses are tied to her, so technically she was watching what was happening I guess. The scenario is not exactly clear about it.
The Necrotic Polyp is an ancient work of necromancy and flesh-warping was originally seeded by Sevenfingers. It radiates a strong aura of evil and necromancy. It's basically a doggy bowl for the ghouls, but creates a few other unique effects in the area, and touching it harms living creatures. It can be destroyed at range or burned, but has a good amount of hp.
The face is a trap that makes you try to eat either a sleeping party member or the dead Kuru corpse.

![]() |

We've covered that last one, I was asking about that warded door at the bottom of the stairs.

![]() |

I thought it might be that - that or there was something horrible behind it to punish the greedy/overconfident.

![]() |

Downloaded! Thanks again.

![]() |

Got it thanks.
It was a great game with several hairy moments.
I was sweating buckets when my party members started dropping during that last combat.

![]() |

Package received!
Believe it or not, I wasn't too worried, given that we still had Miss Level 3 Mighty-Smitey on our side.

DM Rah |

Ok, looks like everyone's got it. I'll close down the thread later today just in case anyone has any last words.
And Nectanebo, you all were closer then you think to a TPK. Festrog's get +5 temporary hp every time they bite someone. If it kept biting Faerin, and Faerin's attacks kept missing, or not hitting hard enough to get through those temp hp, that fight could have gone real bad.

![]() |

True, but Marduk, who didn't do a thing thanks to paralysis, was back just after that. Anyway, I wasn't too worried too.
